Apparently there is a way to circumvent PIN codes in the Piracy skill tree. Don't know if it leaves them set to non-PIN after using it though. And yes, it is currently usable on the PvE server.

There is no way to circumvent PIN codes using Piracy Tree. Piracy Tree allows you to LOOK into a chest to see it's contents, but does not remove any auth/locks. Pirate still has to guess the PIN or Destroy it.

What this sounds like is either a bug OR a player used a key generator to run through every combination possible to unlock it.

  2. So, what I've noticed, is groups of 2 to 10 wanting to claim for themselves. When they role up to an island, they refuse to integrate into one of the existing groups and just want a claim for themselves....I'm sorry, but that is unrealistic. No one is going to trust lone wolves doing their own thing in their backyard. Either accept the offer to integrate, or continue riding your raft to the next island.

    You do now.

But whales breach and kill people on boats fairly often in the real world and not just captains and shit.  Mostly people on vacations, fishing, smaller boats, etc.  I haven't seen one in the game yet, ships of the damned are keeping me mostly shorebound.

This sounds like a great start for an anti-whale tribe.

Yah, this update basically lets me know I made a mistake buying this game. Sad to, because I found it really enjoyable. Oh well, wasted 25 bucks.

They want to force relying on each other, but that isn't the reality of MMO gaming. Forced grouping should only be for combat on end game content or special things. never for character development. The less I can do, the less I will play. They stay with this path, watch the game wither and die.  When the new wears off, mass exodus.

I don't disagree with you. Am really curious how they respond in the next few patches.

    it's far from perfect

what is the use of picking up taming when i don't have the skill to fling a bola at my target due to the lack of skill points.

pirates most likely work in a team, a crew, but it's not that they only are able of a single skill.

if you want to cook for your crew you're stuck in the pantry while your crew explores the island ?

cut me some slack here but the skill system as it was was a little steep already with not unlocking the basic skill in a branch once you unlocked the branch in basics.

    now it's utter nonsense.

That's the funny part for me. Under the pre-nerfed skill system(before 7.0), I felt like I was making difficult decisions on where to put my points. Like I had to make trade offs, if I do this, then I accept that maybe not that. Now...now it feels like I am not getting anything for my trade. To spec a tree, you left with no wiggle room.

To give you an idea, my character is bugged out. He was not forced to respec. At level 43, he shows -270 skill points (because he still has all the skills from before 7.0). Think about that. I felt like I was having to make trade offs with that build, that I had to limit myself from certain combat options (not EVEN talking about even touching any crafting skills, PURELY combaty builds) and that puts me at -270 skill points...so if I started a new character, to get to that trade off state where I felt I was limiting myself into a few narrow combat roles,  I would not be able to, because there would be a 270 skill point deficit to get me back to that place where I agonized over what skills to choose......

I just want to point out you literally get blueprints for all items aka saving you points down the road. I wouldn’t write it off yet, but theres definitely some skills that are absurdly priced

Care to expand upon this? Are you saying Blue Prints allow you to craft without having corresponding crafting skill? IE, you can find a Cutlass Blue Print, 'learn it' with no Skill Point cost, and then be able to craft it, all without investing in any crafting skill related to metallurgy and making weapons?

  6. +1 to the "revert the skill point" change. If you have to be THAT hyper focused on a specific thing, it kind of kills any interest in the game. As it was, under the old skill point system, given the HUGE amount of skills, I felt like I was making trade offs....now, forget about it....
