Let's make a list of whatakes you not want to play. There is always a thing that makes you say screw this perhaps it could serves as a to do list for the developers. Single point per post don't quote each others long posts just reply please scrolling past the same pieces of text over and over because people quote all the time is just annoying.
What makes me want to quit is being offline raided 4 nights in a row by 4 different companies. Npc defences are absolutely useless.

I have seen this phenomenon and with my uneducated opinion it is the whales hitbox that is the problem, if it is miss aligned or something similar. Shoot them a carbine to get aggro it's more reliable and cheaper on ballista ammo

I think we can all agree sailing for hours eats up a lot of time and tends not to be terribly entertaining.
How about a mobile game for resource gathering from far flung areas.
Financed with your islands gold, using ships you have available. You plan a trip with a mobile device yadda yadda.
I have no clue as to the technical difficulties since I build houses for a living but I can see a lot of interesting inputs and outputs. It could be as complex or as simple as one would like.
For simplicity see No Man's sky's fleet operations.
Just a thought.

To be honest I'm not sure why you quoted me.

This sounds like a story from a pve perspective on which case I would posit that your compatriots were quite right to move on.
Atlas was never designed or envisioned to be a pve game. When the developers state an ambition to have a pirate game in the spirit of eve online you know that the main focus of gameplay is at least in principle pvp.
I am not advocating one play style over another but pve is lacking substance or longevity just as you mention in your original post. The only concrete challenge in atlas is in fighting other players.
The pve aspect of the game is good for a few hundred hours of gameplay a lot of the time will be spent travelling from place to place. Beyond those hours there is nothing really.
If you want to talk numbers, the peak numbers on official servers don't reach much further than 700 players per server. The total population of players across all servers pve pvp and unofficial numbers a few thousand.
In terms of what the developers can do to change that? Well that's a long debate but I think there needs to be more emphasis on player skill influcing the outcome of most activities along with greater diversity in ships, ships armament and equipment and more player influence in the quality and effectiveness of those things.
Sorry for the great wall of text.

Sounds like a pve option

Mythical ships isnt something I was thinking of since I don't bother with them.
I'd be unlikely to ever spend that amount of investment in something that is easily destroyed while I'm at work or sleeping.
I probably wouldn't do it if they were insurable I'd rather spend the time sinking ships.
-
I have hidden chests of gold in the past out in the open and raiders have gone away more or less empty handed
-
I've lost dozens of ships, couldn't care less.
Done correctly building a galleon on official takes 3 hours.
Devs dont need to spend time on mechanics we don't need
However, buying ships for gold from a freeport, yes please, sometimes I don't feel like grinding them out
-
Admittedly I haven't played the single player but how do you talk to strangers in the middle of nowhere if its singleplayer?
-
Does this option no longer exist?
A settler on my island and I decided to merge but this option no longer appears in the radial menus.
We are both the owners of our companies, though not the original owners.
We both went through our governance settings one by one and matched them identically.
We have tried the menus in both combat and peacetime.
We waited a couple of days and tried again but no joy.

THANK YOU.
Also, I would like to take this time to moan about people moaning in a congratulatory thread where the people that put all the time and hard work into this game are receiving some of the kudos they deserve.
Sorry that you interpreted it as moan

While it's good that those who wanted to play single player now have the ability to do so, I mused in my car on the drive home if a single player option was a precursor to the closure of the official servers.

Its also absolutely ridiculous!
Honestly cannot even guess the devs thinking behind this absurd change. Removes all creativity and strategy from maps and just turned it into “bring a bear”
Its always been just bring a bear

Im a solo player with a wild level 30 bear that I levelled up I use it to solo mastercraft maps. If you want to say I'm lying go right ahead. I know that I have done this and continue to do this.
I am not part of a mega. My character is lvl 59 and I have zero special gear.

Have never used a cannon to do a treasure map.
Have never had an issue soloing masterwork maps that yield 2000 gold on 1x
Soloed a map on x3 that yielded 8000 gold without ever firing any form of projectile.
My experience seems to indicate that this change has not broken the game.

This is a reported bug since the day of the cargo saddle release.
Current work around is to not have the cargo saddle equipped and to only assemble the storage box and saddle. Combination when it its to be used and demolish it end unequip the saddle when sailing.
This is the only tame I have had fall off the boat in recent weeks

Yeah reversing your boat isn't the games biggest issue

Both the fishing rod and the net work in the same way when it comes to bait nd this insistence on particular types of sugar and the poor return for the investment means these are probably not widely used.
Why one would code in that a player needs to be seated and that only certain sugar types work is beyond me. Why have a feature in the game that has taken coding time, art time, animation time and then make it unlikely to be widely used by making the feature a ball ache to use with a poor return..... We have a saying in our company for things like this
......."atlas"....
Still manage to have fun in the game though

Not true, I have soloed lvl 97 treasure guards on a 2000+ gold map of around 23 quality it yielded mythical blueprints and mythos can be farmed solo from yetis

Take part in your own official forums more instead faffing about on reddit, clear professional community interaction instead of everywhere except your own platform. The official forum should be THE source of information and discussion.

First reply and you ignored the part about not quoting "golf clap"
You also didn't reply with something relevant to the thread but just tried to make the discussion about something you have already started a discussion about.
