Hello, do you know which biome/places is better to get metal? Are the arctic zones worth it?

So i was sailing with my crew and we stopped in the middle of the sea, i died and tried to respawn in the bed we had in the lower floor of our Schooner but i spawned behind the floor, between the hull of the ship and the lower floor. Here's a photo of my situation. I just want to die :)
