  1. Ark allows LAN connectivity and Atlas does not.  That connection functionality does not exist.  I can't speak to whether it's intentional or not.  I was not able to get NAT reflection/loopback working with my router which left me where my friends could connect to my server, but I could not.

I did find a work around that works for me, thought might not be available to everyone.  If I initiate a VPN connection, and then launch my client, it does seem to successfully route my traffic out over the VPN tunnel, and then back in through my NAT to my server that's sitting on my desk.  If you have access to a VPN, give it a try and see if that helps.

  2. When last I checked it was a HUGE difference between ice and salt.  You need to make sure there is no salt in the bags though.  If there is salt and ice in the preserving bag, the salt preserves the ice and the ice does nothing.

Empty the bag, put the ice in and see if it's different.  The timers went WAY up for me.

  3. We were also disappointed with this seemingly unnecessary change. I'm not sure what it was that they were "fixing" but it seems to be too extreme of an adjustment.  A 30 second delay is huge.  I don't have any issue at all with adding a delay to the Red Alert, but I do think 30 seconds is much too long.  If they didn't want us to be able to switch them from left to right, or front to back, or one weapon type to another, they wouldn't have given us the option.  Giving us the option, but making it nearly useless is pretty pointless.

It should be somewhere in the 10-15 seconds range.  That would still make it useful (especially in PvE situations) while also still giving an advantage to crewing all stations from a time response point of view.  Do you want to run fewer crew or have faster response time?  The idea is fine, the execution is the problem.

If you fast travel into a new server you usually don't get the disco point on the first try.  But if you die and spawn at the bed a 2nd time it will give the point.

If you're placing beds for others to port to to get DP's, do them another favor and put a chair next to the bed.  Port in, sit in the chair, and you get the discovery. Otherwise, dying and respawning again will get you the DP.

I can confirm it has changed. Its not 23.5 Discovery Points per level.

Aw hell, you're right.  I thought I had checked it after the update, but that must have been before.  It is not 23.5 anymore.  The 34-35 does not appear correct either.  It looks like it's something closer to 40.

  6.  When demolishing a non-ship/core type structures on a non-fully-anchored boat, resources will not be returned to you. This will be indicated to you via the demolish HUD. The boat must be fully anchored to get resources back for non-ship/core type structures.

I have no issue with the above change other than you receive no materials back during ship building because your boat has not been launched and can not be anchored.  I get what was trying to be fixed here, but maybe it should only kick in AFTER the boat has been launched and should not apply when still in the shipyard.

Is this really true ? If the landlord can „attack“ his slaves at any time... well ok.

But simply walking to the slave base and demolishing everything without even ammo cost is pervert.

If this is really true every human who is not the landlord and lives on an island should visit a doctor to check his mental health.

It's not all that different from how it works now....

  8. We've lost (and later found) about a dozen tames in the last 2 weeks.  It's not just boats.  They fall through floors and get stuck below them as well.  There's something wrong with collision detection of tames and seemingly all floors/maybe even all mesh?

For tames stuck on/in boats that don't immediately die, you can try sailing near another boat and then use the radial wheel to transfer them over.  If they aren't stuck completely you might be able to use the comma whistle to get them to move off the boat as well.

Lawless Areas are not PVE Areas. Delete the very thought from your brain's HDD, use a magnet if you really have to.

I don't think anyone expects that.  The issue I have is that the lawless zones offer MORE PvP options than the actual PvP zones do.  How does that make sense from any angle?  Bottom line, barrels can be used in lawless to sink boats and can NOT be used in PvP zones to do the same thing.

  10. With the most recent changes to barrels, yes.  They can be placed in the water in lawless zones. Apparently, you aren't allowed to have nice things in lawless zones.  The recent changes only benefit people in claimed areas.  It was more fair before when you could place the barrels on the boats.  Now, lawless people can do nothing to protect their boats and the people living in claimed lands can kick back and rest easy knowing no one can blow up their boats.

  11. No No No was using PIN hacks recently.  It's gotten patched several times recently, so even if they aren't banning people, they're at least monitoring the  situation and attempting to make changes.  Sure would love to see some heavy hits with the ban stick even though, they'll just buy another account and be back in a day.

  12. Another poorly thought out design change that makes life more miserable for non-mega companies.  If you don't hold land somewhere, there is now no possible way to secure a boat.  Period.  Anyone can swim up and blow any boat in any lawless zone.  The biggest risk is that they might blow themselves up.

To top that off, it only works in lawless zones.  So the large companies can swim in and blow up anything they want and you can't retaliate because the same thing can not be done in a claim zone.  If the idea is that you must join a mega or die, then just go ahead and give permissions to the mega companies to just demolish small company boats and structures and make life easier on everyone.

There's lots of potential here, and barrels are pretty fun I must admit, but this is just a stupid design choice.  The same rules should apply to their use anywhere or else just remove them.

I swear I remember reading this before the game came out.  Basically, pick a spot on your map, and your crew will get you there. @Camularity  Its a great idea, and makes sense from the podium.

Adding waypoints to the autopilot would make it actually useful.  Right now, it's not much more than a novelty.  I also like the idea of it being usable from the podium.

Logged in this morning and my crops had full water and water reservoirs were like 50/200.  So that's good news.

Water jars in the water reservoir and pressing e on them doesn't do anything.

You have to have a tap on the reservoir and places the jars/water skins in the tap to fill them.

Edit: I don't know exactly how much water, but it's not that much frankly.  WAY less than Ark.  In some zones, you might not even need them.  Rain woud suffice.
