I don,t know who set the temperature variables for storms but My God... I am in a temperate zone and rain drops the temps down massively, to the point I have seen -91deg C raining at night. Even in the equatorial zones rain drops temps to -30 or so. I have 30 Fortitude and storms are almost always a death sentence even wearing full fur armour... in a TEMPERATE area. Fires do pretty much nothing it seems to help nor does being inside a closed building. This is just ridiculous. I could see it getting that low in polar or tundra no problem. Haven't been there yet, can't say how they are.

So, after this patch we met a ship of the damned (4 in a group actually) in our newly floated schooner (speed sails). We could NOT outrun the thing no matter what and it cared NOTHING for wind speed and direction. That was it, 4 days of work sunk in 10 minutes and NOTHING we could do to avoid it short of not venturing onto the ocean in the first place, thus defeating the whole point of the game. Partly may have also been the fact that for the first time since we started, the wind speed dropped to almost nothing right as the damned ship showed up. Also noticed they follow you across server borders as well. sigh....

Seems the Sugar plants in equatorial squares do not give sugar, just fiber equivalent. The same plant 1 square over in tropical gives sugar
