  1. Hmmm... Cleared the servers again and tried to join the same one. NA PvE - Southwest Tundra Freeport Got a different IP address, although it's still in Europe (Germany). The heck is going on Wildcard?
  2. Tracert attempt to the server in question... No wonder people can't connect to the friggin thing.
  3. Note: If you clear all the "Favorite" servers in your Steam, then try to join a server in Atlas, it automatically adds it to your "Favorite" servers in Steam. That's how I verified the server info for the NA Southwest Tundra Freeport.
  4. Not sure what the heck is going on with this, but I've been doing some testing to see how the routing is done around these servers (attempting to resolve my Timeout issue), and I found out that EVERY server is routed through Europe. Even the NA servers! Might be the source of some connectivity issues. Dunno why you would bounce our connection around the world just to get to a North American server.
  5. Interesting... We've noticed people with the "character stuck" issue, meaning they've tried to change servers and now can't play on any of them, are able to see the map. Those who have never been able to play (like me) who are getting the Timeout Issue, don't see the map. They just see black. Seems to be two different causes to the Timeout issue.
  6. Ok, information gathering session.... There seems to be two different Timeout issues happening. Those who have NEVER been able to connect, we're starting to notice something. We also have never been able to see the map. (see pic below) The other Timeout issue is for those who were playing and then tried to change their server. Apparently they have always been able to still see the map, but there is an issue with their character that is preventing them logging in. In addition, players who ARE able to play, also CAN see the map. For those in this topic, please verify this information so we can be sure it's accurate.
  7. This appears to be a known issue... Seen it pop up many times. A few questions for you; 1) Were you able to see the map when trying to join servers, when it worked? 2) Can you still see the map, or has it gone to black? Those who have never been able to connect (Timeout Issue) have noticed that they also don't see the map background, it's just black. Wondering if that's the same for those who are having the issue after home region change.
  8. Aside from Atlas, I have absolutely no issues with my internet. Web pages load fine, other games work fine, streaming media works fine. The only issue I have is with Atlas. I've done that as well, because that used to be a fix in Ark when they were having timeout issues. Didn't resolve the problem. I noticed this as well when talking with people who are able to join. They see the map, I see nothing but black. It could be a symptom... Nice catch.
  9. Been getting this since about version 3.0 when I first installed. Have done a ton of troubleshooting, but I don't believe the issue is on my end. See my other topic here;
  10. This is what I've been getting since I installed the game (around version 3.0) ... Also of note, the map background has never shown. Going to start a new topic, just in case the devs are ignoring this one due to the 5.6 in the title.
  11. I haven't gotten that error. I've only gotten the "Connection Timeout" error.
  12. Again, this topic is for constructive posting... Please don't fill it with complaints. We're all in the same boat, if you wanna complain make your own topic.
  13. That's not constructive... This topic is designed for helpful troubleshooting.
  14. Oh, I should note I pinged the game server port... Didn't bother with the query port since I figured the game was pinging that just fine.
  15. Not sure if it means anything, but I looked into the "Offical Server" INI file and tried to ping the first 4 servers; 37.10.126.130 37.10.126.131 37.10.126.132 37.10.126.133 37.10.126.134 37.10.126.135 37.10.126.136 37.10.126.137 37.10.126.138 37.10.126.139 37.10.126.140 All ping responses timed out.
  16. Did a complete wipe and reinstall of the game, still can't connect to any official server.... v6.2 Tried to join an unofficial PVE server "Chill and Play While We Wait >>NO LAG<<" ... Same timeout issue.
  17. At this point I'm going to try a complete wipe of the game from my system, including anything stored in the Users folder, and do a reinstall. Verifying files didn't work, but maybe reinstalling might fix something.
  18. Alright... Had Christmas stuff to attend, but now I'm back. Just finished testing out the 6.2 build (rev.105929) and I'm still having the same issue. Timeout when trying to connect to any server, NA or EU, PVE or PVP. Was unable to get a dedicated server running due to the lack of support, and yes I tried the discord chat. Everyone talks in there like you should have 15 degrees in programming and nobody gives a straight answer. Well, they give a straight answer, but one that only they understand because they've already figured it out. It's like me telling someone that the first step to changing a spark plug in my truck is to remove the coil. If someone doesn't know where the coil is and how to remove it the instructions (while correct) are utterly meaningless.
  19. As I've been doing in the other thread... Look, we're probably both frustrated, but we're on the same side here. Checking out the discord link.
  20. Actually I am pretty chill... I've been working tirelessly in the Bug Reporting area to sort out the "Connection Timeout" issue. My next step is to try a local dedicated connection, but I can't get the dedicated server started. Have 3 Ark servers running on the same machine so I'm assuming it won't start due to a config issue or something.
  21. I love when people post they got past an issue but DON'T provide information as to how they did it, so the rest of us might benefit... Sheesh
  22. It could be... What I'm going to try is different though. I have my server sitting on the floor right here beside my main PC. If I can connect to it then that will answer several questions. Namely; 1) Is it a problem with the client? No 2) Is it a problem with my PC hardware/software configuration? No 3) Is it a problem with my network setup? No If I can connect to a local dedicated server then the issue is specifically with the way the Official/Unofficial servers are handling how players connect across the internet. Could be region, gateway, or even coding... But it will confirm that it's not a problem with the client/settings/hardware on my end.
  23. To official 5.9 servers, no. Still downloading the 5.9 dedicated. The torrent cloud is somewhat slow, only getting 1.3MB/s
  24. Currently downloading the Dedicated Server and will give it a try on my local server system; Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Intel Xenon CPU L5420 2.5Ghz (x2 processors) 32GB RAM If I can't connect to the server on the same network then I'll know it's some kind of software/hardware issue. If I can connect to it then I'll know it's somehow a network (aka internet) connectivity issue to the official servers. Could be valuable info for the devs.
  25. Back at it Testing out 5.91 client on the 5.9 listed servers... NA PvE - "Connection Timeout" on E12, F12, D8, I3, E5, and M10 NA PvP - "Connection Timeout" on I9, J10, J9, D8, I2, E4, and A6 EU PvE - "Connection Timeout" on F12, L13, K9, G7, D8 and E4 EU PvP - "Connection Timeout" on G7, E4, L5, J8, N7, and H14 Still can't get in...
