Found the answer to number 6. Vitamin equalization takes an hour, but when it happens the HUD info key says the following: "Your vitamins are balanced! You feel great, with gains in movement speed, damage, fortitude, HP regen, and XP" or thereabouts. I lost it just as I was copying the text down (instead of a screengrab like a dummy).
