  1. I don't know about the link. The link goes to imgur.com to show the image because the image was too big for the upload function of the website. I am sorry.

But okay, that clears it up. It sucks, because now my tramp freighter is no longer symmetrical.. but I'll have to live with it.

  2. Apparently I cannot use all module points on my ship. I've got 16 module points on this  Tramp Freighter, every module requires apparently 1 point. I'm trying to put rowing modules in, doesn't work. I'm trying to put cannons in, doesn't work. I can swap the modules between the two slots, but I can't have both.

Can anyone explain to  me why? if what I'm doing makes sense and is correct?

Check the link to see what I mean. Imgur: The magic of the Internet

  3. Since Official began to feel like a full-time job despite being with a large crew, me and a friend simply switched over to play on a private server. Though what I've noticed is that Ship of the Damned, are literally everywhere on the private server. We have noticed that the smaller the amount of grids, the more Ship of the Damned are centered in area's. The server admin is getting tired of them too, and he's been looking into either disabling or just decreasing their spawn rate. But he says this option is not implemented (yet), same goes for hurricanes that literally spawn ontop of you in a storm.

My question would be to ask for a way to disable, or decrease ship of the damned spawn rate and hurricanes. This doesn't have to be implemented for official, obviously. But for private servers, it would be great. Because currently, the smaller the amount of grids, the more ship of the damned you will encounter and that shouldn't have to happen. Especially low level people who just get started. And nothing admins can do about it.

  4. Another update on this situation. Fought the same clan (mega clan) for the 4th time in a row now. More unexplainable shit is happening. This might be because at this point I am actually looking for flaws, but seriously. I tried to grapple their ship over 10 times.. the instant the grapple connected with their ship, it instantly released. And none of them was near the hook either. - Tested it on my own ship afterwards, which worked fine. I just cannot grapple onto their ships. Had the same issue the other day when their ships were unmanned in their bay.

This is rididiculous. This same clan has a dozen of ships with a cannon tower at the front with about 18 cannons onto them. And all cannons have NPC's on them that fire at will. Now I wonder how they got all that gold.. mmh. Duping, by chance?

As I mentioned in this thread before. I do not have concrede evidence, but there are people who do have evidence all over the forums and reddit. Yet no dev seems to worry their little head about it at all. They're focused on making this game and fixing it, which is as important. But if you're going to have a duping and cheating problem and you want this game to evolve like EVE Online, you're off to a bad start. And then, a wipe of the official servers will eventually just need to happen. Unless you manage to trace all those who cheat and dupe and ban them.. which, I do not see happening considering Grapeshot / Wildcard's reputation.

  5. There's been a lot of reports of cheaters in Atlas as of late. Personally I have not experienced or encoutnered a cheater of any kind yet. Sure, assumptions but not concrete proof. But there's been multiple reddit posts and forum posts popping up like these:

I feel like Grapeshot Studios should respond to those kind of things and let us players know what they're going to do about it. As you can see in the video added to that, the entire scene on minute 5 seems quite sketchy. - I think in these kind of cases it's important for the devs to communicate with people about such things. Especially because they advertised this game as an EVE Online kind of game, where there is playerrun ecenomy and territory. But what happens when cheaters are bringing inbalance to this entire ecenomy and territory? Then it's ruined, and you will never get it right anymore, despite being early access.

  6. I just spent over 20 hours building a schooner, and after just 6 hours of sleep I woke up to finish it and make it actually sail ready. Only to find it sunk, despite being near an island that is swarmed and owned by our 400man company. This game needs to be balanced. To have a ship that sinks 20 hours into it, only for it to be sunk overnight in probably less than 3 minutes is ridiculous.

Either lower the material costs, or increase gather rate (via perks or otherwise). And then just make it a bit more expensive in the skill tree, or whatever. But jesus christ. This is stupid.

  7. Since ARK had a lot of beautiful mods, and a lot of practical ones. I've been wondering. I am not experienced in modding but I can't help but wonder if there's any way to make a roleplay chat mod for Atlas, that replaces the chat and turns it into a more practical UI. I'm also wondering if it is possible to make a mod that (obviously on a private server), crosses grids together in someway.

  8. This vitamin system has to go until it is improved upon. It is way too punishing. If you eat something, you will still lack the vitamins and get sick, if you eat nothing, you'll die. So most people don't even bother eating and just die, respawn, die, respawn. Just to play the game. Especially on low level, it is impossible to take in the required amount of vitamins to stay alive unless you look hard enough. And this game is already hard as it is, considering how much materials it costs to get a sloop.

  9. Well. Still, something needs to happen about the offline raiding. I'm all for PvP, and I'm all for raiding and getting raided but it needs to happen when people are online. Spending 24 hours building a proper boat, only to have one noob with a trillion of pickaxes to pick it open from the bottom and sink it, is just ridiculous. It shouldn't happen.. Even Rust isn't that punishing for players who sink hours into that game. And that game is savage.

Then again, the game needs a lot of balance changes in general. There's people who make incredibly small characters so people can't hit them in melee combat because their hitbox sizes with their character. We were two level 15's last night going on a lawless island to get some wood to build our sloop with, and we got attacked by a small group of 2-3 people, naked with torches. They were level 26, and almost one-hit us with a torch and we did no damage on them beside the fact we had hide and metal armor and swords and spears. That's balance that's ridiculous.

This game advertised as their version of EVE Online in a pirate setting. But it is more like Rust or ARK than EVE Online and obviously they are in early access and all but EVE has no offline raiding, for sure. This offline raiding attracts trolls and kids who just want to ruin someone's day, and that's a bad case if your goal is to create a steady and fun ecenomy where people can actually thrive in and build a game from the ground up.

If they end up changing offline raiding, and the land claim system to limit it, they are gonna need a global server wipe. Because at this point, big massive zerg clans moved from Rust to this game, just to make peoples lives miserable and offline raid them.

    See my suggestions

Why not make it a fun part of the game? Having people bury their treasure can turn a raid into a treasure hunt, or at least having a means to protect your ship in port.

I saw what you did. It looks like a good idea. Though I still think that they should also make it harder to destroy peoples stuff when they are offline. Like maybe give 50% damage decrease on it or whatever.

  11. The devs mentioned how their wish for Atlas is to be like EVE Online. And I know it's early access and everything, but if they want to make this game like EVE.. they will have to do a lot to make it happen. A few points:

    1. Offline raiding. In EVE Online, when you log off, people cannot destroy your direct property. They can contest your claimed areas but they cannot really destoy your ships while you're offline. This should happen in Atlas too. Obviously with good anti-combat logging mechanics. But if you view this as EVE Online, then turn it into EVE Online and not RUST where the toxic community leads and the noobs follow.

    2. Claiming Land. The land claim should be different. A lot different. I know in EVE Online you just contest area's and claim it or whatever.. but in Atlas, that'd be difficult. There's more islands than there's companies, so there's no way for every company to have an island for themselves. Sure, they could fight for it but it's very unbalanced. An already settled company will always be stronger than a company without land, because they're not able to build anything proper. They're not able to build anything for themselves, as everything is claimed already. They could get started on a Lawless as of right now, but there's often large clans who are just picking off people farming already. Claiming land needs to be limited, or done differently.

These are the main reasons people are currently just going on private servers, because people can set up their own rules. Because this feels like ARK with a different theme. And if people are going on private servers, you'll never get this game into an EVE Online flow ever anymore. Because people are rather playing on their own servers now, which isn't bad if you want to turn this in ARK or RUST.. but if you want to turn this into EVE Online? Then you're doing it wrong.

And when you decide to change things drastically, and actually sort things out the right way you yourself imagined your game to be? You're going to have to wipe all the progress off the servers, because big clans have all the islands claimed and give no one a chance anymore. People are not able to get started anymore, because of this.

And wiping servers as an MMO, as you advertised. That's a bad case overall..

I don't believe you guys are realizing even, what you've done. You've launched a game, advertised it as an MMO and an EVE Online type of game, while it's more turning into a survival game instead.

  12. Made a post about this as well before I saw this. It's ridiculous.. there's chinese clans and this clan called Infinite, who literally just claimed TONS of land and sea. And most of the time it's just because they can spam the shit out of those flags. There's no logic behind it. - Except for maybe getting notified when someone sails into your land at sea.

  13. The Land Claiming system needs a better job. We're a group of around 20-25 people and we were looking to claim a bit of land. But everywhere we go, there's even bigger clans who have claimed huge pieces of land. Infact, there's groups (INFINITE, a company), who are claiming huge pieces of the ocean for themselves just to see when people sail into their zone so they can go and intercept them, to kill them. I think companies should be limited in how much land they claim.

  14. I suggest to add an 'are you sure?' screen to recreating a character. My screen has bugged out several times where I happened to accidently press enter after death, and it forced me to recreate my character. This shouldn't be so easy. Especially because you will lose ALL progress. So please, add an 'are you sure you want to recreate?' screen.

  15. P.S. I'm not one of the people negatively reviewing the game. I have no doubts that the game is good. I want to play it. I'm not gonna negatively review it. But I want to be able to play within at least 2 hours, so I know what the game is like.. so if I want to refund it (doubt I will want to refund it but w/e), I at least can.

And considering I've been trying to actually play the game for hours on end by now.. yes. I'm frustrated and rather salty. At least I'm not one of those fucking weebs directly harassing the devs or anyone else because of my own frustration.

  16. Yep. And in the Early Access rules say, that you have to follow your schedule. Which Atlas didn't do because they delayed 3 times. Either way. I'm here to rant, not to make an useful post. Your good advice is highly appreciated but my salty brains aren't willing to listen to it.

  17. I've got a great suggestion here for you guys. - A lot of people are not able to refund the game anymore, because they've been trying to play the game, but haven't been able to because the servers are just always down. Or everyone is stealing freeports. They cannot even try the game before deciding wether they want to keep it, so most people cannot even refund anymore because of the shitshow you guys have set up.

So my suggestion would be: After the holidays, and after this disastrous, hilarious shitshow is done and over with and the game is actually stable.. compensate people. Give them cosmetics, or something. Do something to compensate people. Because this is just ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong. I believe this game could be very fun. But I've not even been able to play the game, because everytime I want to play, I'm barely able to log in. Even with the recent fucking update that went out minutes ago, it's still bullshit. I cannot even unite with my friends.

P.S. Release the dedicated server kit, because your official servers are honestly, with ALL DUE RESPECT: THE FUCKING WORST.

And excuse my language. But my dumb ass has put faith in your game, staying up till 4 AM to PERHAPS catch a glimpse of GAMEPLAY tonight, and still nothing. I'm honestly feeling retarded for even TRYING.

    Have a nice fucking holiday.
