If they would just fix the exploit they could maintain the population and get some people to come back.  Banning all the people that have done it will probably bring back the same players that would come back if they just fix the issue but they would lose way more from the bans...

    1. Again, this isn't calling for them to ban everyone that's doing it, this is calling for them to ban a specific company of continuous griefers. 2. Fuck that, ban all of them, if you're exploiting then your a piece of shit and deserve it

The problem is a large chunk of the player population has used this exploit... If they ban all of them it would look REALLY bad on the books from the business perspective.

It could realistically be half the active players.  Yeah, the rest of us would get land finally but it could also kill the game.

Yes, but is that large population of the players base consistently using it day after day targeting a specific island and all the companies on it daily and flaunting it in the chat? Wouldn't most of the player base leaving due to these people look just as bad on the books business wise? It's already killing the game. Punish people, let it be known you punished them so that people come back to the game and revive it

But again, like Cybernut said, this isn't where that discussion needs to take place. This post is about calling an issue with a specific company griefing multiple other companies on a daily basis to the attention of the devs

My understanding is that it's not just the Chinese that are doing it, but plenty of non-Chinese companies too. My opinion is that all of the established players are of the position that, "if other people are going to do it I might as well do it too, plus it gets me resources," so it's a mechanical issue, not a player issue. Don't hate the player, hate the game. And if you're going to hate the player, hate all players, don't discriminate.

yeah, that's fine, in PVP, using an EXPLOIT in PVE to destroy and take things from other players isn't a mechanical issue, it's a shitty individual issue

I don't really think it's fair to punish the Chinese for exploiting available mechanics in an early access game. It's totally ruined the game for me, and I quit playing until they get it figured out; but it's pretty immature to get salty about a competitor taking advantage of what's available.

The fact is the mechanic should not be available on a PvE server, and blaming people from a different part of the world is racist, it's the devs fault; and we can only appreciate that the devs will fix their error, and be hopeful that they fix it soon.

Yeah no, it's not racist for being upset a specific company for being shitty players and using an exploit to needlessly ruin the game for others. I do appreciate the devs trying to find a fix, but I absolutely won't accept them not punishing people for their actions

The overweighting issue is indeed a priority for our team and we definitely understand the frustration it's causing. We're working on a more delicate technical solution to resolve it, hopefully, we can get that in as soon as possible.

That's fine and dandy, we all want and are willing to wait for a decent fix to the issue. What we are not willing to wait for is retribution against those who we've provided evidence

showing them in the act. Y'all saying your working on a fix doesn't do jack about the people who are actively continuing to grief in the meantime and having no consequences for their actions. Once a fix is made are y'all going to remove them from the game? take away their claims and buildings and ban them? Or are they going to get to just keep playing the game knowing that they fucked over other players and got away with it?

Have to remember PvE isn't the only mode and the chances are what they do for us will affect them (shouldn't be a thing i know) and chances are they dont want to make things worse than they are

That's fine, I'ma ll for them taking the time to figure out good fixes that won't ruin or make things worse. However, them not having anyone take the few minutes to look at proof, go to the coordinates and remove the people ruining the game for others is absolutely ridiculous

You should post all of this to the Chinese media ministry. Grapeshot will never region lock because they’re super greedy and owned by a Chinese parent company (Snail). However, the ministry in China is mandated to not allow Chinese people to engage in online activity that damages the reputation of China. (amongst a list of other violations) Having the game banned in China by the Chinese govt. is much more likely than getting Grapeshot to region lock.

Lmao I'll have to look into that

    How do you report "[] [] []  [] []" ?

The easiest but still shit way to do so is try to look at him and screen shot his name, then look up his steam name and just report his steam profile. I know it's a shitty way to have to do it, but not much you can do when they let chinese characters be used as player names and don't actually show the characters

Chinese company 'Predator' just bombed everything on Southern island in O4 by aggroing SotD.  How do you report players?  If that will even do anything...

Even Bethesda can handle banning toxic players.  Get your shit together WC/GS.

Click the support tab at the top, it'll take you to a page where you can report players and report stuff like getting stuck

  10. The Ghost Ghost ??? Chinese company has been weight sinking multiple ships in different companies that live on the South East island of the grid with them for more than a week, but the evidence we've screen shot and submitted has only been from last Thursday. They have sunk a bunch of the ships of those of us that live on the island with them, along with any ship from people/companies that are just traveling through the grid and anchored at the island to log off for the day. Saturday is when they hit most of our ships and multiple report tickets were submitted about them, ~10 to 15 tickets were made, providing this https://imgur.com/a/wWGISv1 and more as evidence. The last pic in that link is the response we got from one of the devs yesterday.

I log on this morning and see that they sunk yet another random company's ship that had anchored near their base last night that isn't even from the island nor grid and see that as of yet, none of the devs have come in and gotten rid of this group of players.

It is unacceptable and utterly ridiculous that a multitude of your players have submitted proof of what they are doing along with them admitting that they're doing it, just for you devs to do nothing about them. I get it, y'all are trying to figure out a way to stop the exploit from happening so people don't get griefed by it anymore. That's great! Yes, do that! However, one of you should realize that what that company is doing is absolutely heinous activity, and goes against your code of conduct for the players. You need to do something now about these specific players and I'm sure other groups that have been reported to you doing the same thing, you need to remove them and their home and claimed areas from the game. Not continue to let them grief other players and keep them from enjoying a major part of your game while you figure out how to fix the exploit. Let me guess, even after you find a way to fix the exploit this company is still going to get to keep their home and land and players no matter how many players they griefed before you figured out a fix? So they aren't going to receive any punishment whatsoever and just get to keep playing the game knowing they fucked over other players and got away with it?

    It's absolutely ridiculous the way y'all are going about this @Jatheish @Amberenix @Baker @DebbySaurus @Dollie @Evza

Well, then, please share with everyone where you have yours, locked as you say and see how long it will take before someone glitch through walls or doors and play havoc with your "crap locked up in your houses etc behind locked doors".

Adding lock to stuff on PvE would shortstop quite a lot of other problems we have and should be easier than fixing all the bugs around it.

wanna know where my stuff is? In pin coded storage containers next to the work stations. Common sense would tell you that if something isn't lockable, then you should not put anything in it and instead put your stuff in things that do lock

The crafting stations are not pin lock able so you dont put anything in them if your base is wide open, lkeep that crap locked up in your houses etc behind locked doors
