  1. figured it out, for some reason i just couldn't do the rejoin, had to select sever, hydra den, then select my home rejoin then join and back where i was. I think the patch broke the rejoin option the first time you come back in

Claim overlaps can cause thigns not flippign names, but the OP was answered originally, IF you set a claim flag to let peopel build on it, including an included only list, once they are no longer on that list, or its switched to company only with no list, things start decaying at 3 days. beds can no longer be used, etc etc. and this is infact proveable as its currently whats going on on my island, someone created a company i had let build on my land and all her stuff started decaying because her ID changed.

    Yeah I get you want that. It actually wasn’t intended lol. The reason they opened lawless zones in the first place was so people could actually enter the game is a different section from the free ports.

    they weren’t going to add more free ports since that would take away even more area for players. They aren’t going off of eve 😂

    they added these areas so people could actually play when the game was released. Smh

    How does anything I said involve lawless. Yes they intended this to be an eve/ark game, they directly say that when they announced the game and did their interview. They want to allow the companies to control the land, allow people to build on their land. Get economies going. Etc etc. Maybe if you read their official release interview you would understand claim flags being not limited was 100% intentional

Renting land is a mechanic they got from eve. they are suceeding in their eve/ark mix of gaming. and its a good system, as long as you dont build on trolls lands. ive got three people building on 3 different areas that we control, we set a 15% tax rate adn we benefit while they get land, dont have to worry about flag maitenence, and are pretty much protected from getting their stuff taken. 


  6. like ive said in several over posts, the claim system is intented. they wanted a ark/eve style game, and thats what they are working towards. thats why they have neutral zones on claims, so compainies who own their islands can let people build on them in specific areas. its all intended, and again based off the eve null sec system.


  7. im going to assume what happen similar to one of my tennats heres the situation. I added an included company id of person to the flag, they then created a company later, thus chanigng id, and it is now set to decay what she had already built. because her id is no longer validly included, which means i need to go change the id so her stuff doesn't decay. so looks like if a landlord kicks osmeone out, they have 7 days to get their stuff

  8. im confused about why everyone wants 1 land claim flag. Thats not the intention of this game. They stated they want a game to be like eve and ark put together. so for the land claims, yes, people are going to claim as much as they can. They also implimented neutral zones so you can build on someone elses claim, ((this is how things work in eve in nullsec)) so by what they said they wanted to do , they are on track with land claims and building. Just be nice, become friends with a company who has land,and talk to them about wanting to build in one of their land claims. Then its not your issue to upkeep the flag either.

    Flags seem to be a "good idea" as with many things within the Atlas world it makes no real sense but has been added to make it less Ark like and its there for the sake of it, PvE by its nature is a different beast and watching some of the streams where they are actively taking claims and raids are lasting over 24 hours because of a few protectors jumping from bed to bed as the flags seem to chain link so move to one protect them all in that chain its not working very well for PvP either 😛

     

    At the end of the day Ark has a lot of good mechanics now after many years of tweaking but the baby seems to have been thrown out with the bath water to make Atlas "different" 😛

    why get rid of flags? neutral zones are coming for companies to allow people to build on their lands and reap benefits of tax's even more...people just needed to wait like ive been saying, and then there will be places to build

    read that more closely. "time required to steal" ...3 day timer isn't going to change..the 30 minuete timer to steal a claim is gonna change...to steal and contestation are 2 different timers

    no, the way it reads is, on monday it goes live, you have until wednesday to fix yoru currently flags the way you want them, on wednesday it becomes ACTIVE  forpeople to build on, and at any point after wednesday you can change them to your liking. they are just giving 2 days to set it up the first time

    If you only have one claim, the contesting timer will be 3 days. Do we know what the timer is if you have 10 claims? Without knowing what the decreasing rate is, I'd expect something like this:

    1 flag: 3 days
    2 flags: 2 days
    3 flags: 1 day
    4 flags: 12 hours
    5 flags: 5 hours
    ...
    10 flags: 9 minutes

    This would encourage people not to have more claims than they can manage. It would allow bigger tribes to own larger pieces of lands, as well as the  9-5 worker to safely play on PvE with 1-2 claims. That being said, if you have people online around the clock, your territory should be safe. At the same time territory griefing would be eliminated, as you wouldn't want to risk your stuff being taken over in just a few minutes. Also, people wouldn't be directly denied owning more territory.

    Comments? Ideas? Flaws?

    op, where did you see this about the flags, because as it stands on an official scale, all flags are suppose dto have a 3 day timer if you are active in the area.

Then they needed the start space so used them as a temp solution while they worked on smoothing starts out so, they are just reverting them back to what they were meant to be, so it seems.

    the level cap was or is beign removed from lawless zones..levle 8 was for starting areas((freeports)). 

     

    Claims will still not be able to be laid in lawless zones, everyones worried about not being able to spawn at their beds in the lawless zones..thats not going to happen, what they are removing is the ability to choose it as a home server. that will be reduced to just freeports like day 1..and as intentended

    how is it working as intended if you dont have a 3 day timer on your flags like you are supposed to when you refresh them.
