The elephant nerf was being used by some people to carry a ton of extra wood for repairs on galleons, they would have an elephant inside the ship next to the resource box, then transfer wood as needed. It allowed you to carry significantly more repair mats and you could delete one of the back decks and completely enclose the elephant inside of a structure to protect it.

Riding on a horse, I get attacked by a level 2 croc I think, no problem this horse is decent level, I will just kill it, the croc bit the horse twice once for 36 damage, the second bite was for almost its entire health pool, it didnt register the damage but the horse had 50 health left and it had 563 health before the fight started (it was full health)
What is this bug? We had a horse die to a croc a few days ago and didnt understand what happened under similar circumstances, but it had much lower health. -
Gold is the most valuable resource in the game right now, it is how you defend your ships and bases, via paying for NPCs, you are speaking from ignorance.
Think of it as Gasoline for generators in ark.
You also use it to trade for different resources at NPC ships to build higher quality blueprints. -

The tester is giving feedback... maybe you do not understand early access.

Merge groups? So many people want their 3-5 active player groups to be treated as if they are 10 times larger. They are absolutely unwilling to merge and get stronger because that might mean they actually have to be slightly less selfish and actually work as a larger group.
Merging is the better option, you can use each others beds to transfer between ships or bases, use the ships in defense, you will probably have more coverage during off hours. It is all around a better way to go than dealing with the poor alliance system. -
Melee weapons were always bad, they nerfed firearms, they nerfed the damage that fire arrows do on direct hits, and through stacking/durability hits, but they haven't touched the fire on the ground. Being able to 3 shot level 200+ alpha elephants is absurd, when compared to it taking dozens of rifle shots, or breaking 8 melee weapons as they do no damage.

3 minutes ago, Realist said:Well @Evir just said he was calling BS on you so take it up with him.
This shows nothing, other than him being level 51.

Just now, Realist said:I just tagged you to the guys post that you called bs on. He had a screenshot as proof
What proof? he is 51 in that screen shot with no supporting evidence on anything to show he is actually lower level.
Where is the character screen, screenshot showing how much XP he has? -
1 minute ago, Realist said:Well both on here and twitter multiple people have said they have lost more than just two levels. Guess they are all liars that came up with the same lie
No one in my Company lost that many, most went down a couple of levels, I went from 52 to 50.

Sure, you made them easier to tame, which makes me feel stupid for going to another island to find honey now. You make large gates much more difficult to craft, making bigger tribes with already established bases have a big advantage. You take away the ability to respec without mentioning it anywhere (that I can find, certainly not in the patchnotes I just combed through them), again affecting small companies more.
Is there anything that is actually good about this patch? I'm really loving this game but damn what were you thinking here?Tames are much stronger now, as long as you use the skills from the beast mastery tree and the damage reduction they take now. Might want to check your facts before you post on the forums.

They massively buffed the mounts, I bet this guy feels bad saying all that.
20% damage taken decrease and all the buffs work now. Our mounts are taking on Alphas fairly easily now. -
3 minutes ago, Realist said:Nah man, one dude said he went down 26 levels, another guy lost 12. It’s a bug not the new level system
Well I dont know anyone lower than level 45 before the patch, because it was so easy to level, I call BS on the 26 level though. The guy is probably new and doesnt realize he has to put his points into his attributes to level.

8 minutes ago, Realist said:Don’t worry they also messed up the servers as well as people’s levels so yeah, par for the course as far as wildcard goes.
and to think people actually tell them they are doing a good job
Nothing really that wrong with the levels, who cares if you went down a couple of levels, you have more talent points and it doesnt take that long to level.

Basically this patch "we are buffing firearms damage against armor, but we didn't tell you we are massively nerfing firearms base damage, again."
Lol these guys are trying to make fire arrows shooting the ground the only way to kill animals in this game.... Melee weapons are still complete trash, so GG on alpha heavy islands. -
In my testing, the best melee weapon is the rifle...
-
Can we please get actually useful melee weapons? You are buffing firearms to be "useful in melee combat" when melee weapons are completely useless. Firearrows are/were the meta because it was the only damage that got around armor on a consistent basis. Firearms were useful in combat already, you just made them MORE useful. Meanwhile we have melee, that slows your movement, has no gap closers, burns your stamina super fast, does next to no damage (hitting people in hide for 5 damage... really?) and hits wild animals for 20-50 depending on the weapon and buffs, but the animals all have a huge cone knockback, and hundreds of health. Headshotting a wolf for 500 with a rifle and it still doesnt die, vs trying to kill it with a sword hitting it for 25 to 30 a swing.
I mean seriously this is absurd at this point, and you are worried about firearms doing more damage?!Edit: most of the melee attacks cause you to stop moving completely, meanwhile you have a guy bunny hopping around while running, reloading flint lock rifle, pouring loose powder down a barrel and using a ram rod to push a lead ball down a tube, while jumping.

You can indeed do that, and put a small on it with it.

Not at all, you hit a wolf for 25 and it has over 200 health, it bites hard and does a knockback, so by the time your weapon swings, you are most likely out of range. It is total garbage. Even with the 20% vitamin buff, you do 30 damage.
-
Not only do the melee weapons do such little damage they aren't worth using, but the melee swings are extremely slow, and cause your character to stop moving, it is just easier to carry more firearms and swap to them, than to switch to a melee weapon. You can be infinitely kited by anyone with a ranged weapon and they can potentially one shot you.

We get by with 50 fort and hide, but repairing the armor is absurd, and there are tons of uses for organic paste, I guess we have to fish by swimming and killing them with bows or melee weapons.
-
I don't care if it is honey, sap, syrup, sugar, it doesn't matter, how do you acquire it in the tundra? I need organic past and to fish.

2 minutes ago, Speedblade said:Just lost my 2nd sloop to them they fire like 10 shots at a time and are too fast. THey need to drastically reduce them to make the game playable for small groups
I understand your loss, but I recommend finding a larger group, this isn't ARK and I totally get the NA server mentality of you and your small group of friends going on adventures, but you wont survive in a small group, if it isnt the NPCs that get you, it is the Streamers, griefers, or Chinese that will. We have already merged with one group, and are looking to merge with more, just to get the numbers.

1-2 PER SERVER tile is fine, but sailing for 30 minutes we ran into 20+ of them, we can engage them, and sink them but we then have to repair after fighting a couple of them. You cant avoid them if the wind is bad, this is stupid.

All weapons seem to do less damage, as if hitting a wolf for 31 with a sword wasnt bad enough, now it is 25. Guns were nerfed also.

It could have been worse, they could have just said "you die when you reach 100 and must reroll your character"
