  1. I hear people mentioning it, but I personally haven't noticed any agro change, threaded a ramshackle sloop between several sotd heading to the FoY this afternoon and didnt catch agro. I was  just a few sloop lengths from some of them. Same with our brig, got uncomfortably close to several and never caught agro, even though I thought for sure I would have.

Their numbers seemed to have trippled and they are getting closer to land too, saw 20+ going from b10-a9 today and saw several almost in anchor range of land throughout the day

Really? I did not know that. I have taming skill but never tried the bear. Thanks for the tip, might give that a try also.

Yeah, before today we didnt like taking our bear out for anything but gathering fiber due to fear of alphas, but after the fire arrow nerf we were looking for a better way to run maps and someone in our square mentioned that the bear was great at taking out army of the damned so we took a chance and it worked great, plus a bear is a great way to get heavy gold back to the ship. After 3 maps we had enough gold for a months salary for the 3 npc we keep full time

  3. So Friday morning we set up a lighthouse right next to our base and log out shortly after (lawless pve). Saturday morning we log in, fill it with wood and go do a few treasure maps, come back maybe an hour later and its gone. No log messages about it being destroyed or anything, its just gone.

Has anyone run into this, I know they only have a 2 day decay timer in lawless as opposed to most things being 4 days, but I was only away from it for an hour.

I mean you could always just do a few sit-ups or hit the treadmill. I don’t know that carrying a whole sail just to compensate is really a good life choice. 😛

<——- Is a total hypocrite who will stab you if you touch his Cheetos.

Lol, its all that rum and prime meat and sitting on my butt steering the ship watching my crew do all the work 😄

  5. 1 large speed is the fastest for a schooner, you can add a small speed as well but I dont really notice much of a difference. I run 1 large speed and 1 small handling on my schooners, and keep a small weight on board to swap out around incase I get a little too heavy

Had a pretty busy weekend. My wife and I started off Saturday making the final touches to our schooner so it was 100% ready for our trip Saturday evening. Then we decided to hunt floatsams to get a little bit extra gold for the crew we planned on hiring later.

While looking we started talking to a guy in global and he mentioned he had some treasure maps in our square that he didnt have time to run. We said we would take them, and on the way to his base he said he had some seeds for us, and an elephant too. So we pull up in our sloop, chat for a bit, add him to our trade alliance, and he gives us the seeds, maps and elephant, which we were going to pay for with salt later. A sloop looks really funny with an elephant on it, lol.

So we get the elephant back and leave it on one of our schooners because we didnt have a pen for it. Finished up our play time by doing a metal run.

So Saturday evening comes and its almost time for the big trip. We start by loading our schooner up with food and water then head to the freeport to hire a couple of npcs to run the sails and start our journey. Our desto was F12 (home is B10) and we wanted to come home with as much sea salt as we could carry.

Ill save you all the boring details, but after 3 hours, several cyclones, dodging dozens of demon ships, almost freezing to death and a few pit stops for repairs we made it to F12.

Started talking with the locals and they were a friendly bunch. They told us what island had the most salt and also mentioned that gems were on another island, which we wanted as well. We find the island and after an hour of gathering and fighting off the local wildlife (so many snakes and wolves), we had 10k salt and just enough room for 500 or so gems.

The trip home was pretty boreing, and slow because we were at almost 7k weight now. Maybe had 2 cyclones and very few demon ships. We get home and our friend that gave us the elephant was in our backyard taming a rhino, so we give him some salt, off load the rest of our goods and go to bed.

Sunday was pretty uneventful, ran a few treasure maps, built a pen for our elephant and got a wheat crop going. Then this morning we built all of the below deck cannons for the brig. Our main plans during the week are to finish the brig, and we aren't sure what our weekend plans are yet

  7. Tomorrow night my crew and I are taking a trip to the desert, mainly to load up on salt but also to explore. We live in the western tropics, and we were wondering what resources we should bring for potential trades. We have large amounts of acai berries, aloe, hemp and sugar near us. As well as a few bean and wild rice seeds. Our island is also full of cows if milk is desired.

We are taking a schooner and dont want to leave home empty.

    Thank you for any input

Pretty uneventful day today. The resource spawns are working again so we finished our trade schooner. Came in a little heavier then I wanted, but it will be fine. I plan on leveling it in weight anyways. If we end up too heavy ill just kick my 2 brothers overboard 😄 We decided on 1 large cannon in the rear, it will probably never get used because it can dance circles around sotd, but it looks cool, lol. We also have a swivel gun on each side to help clear the shore before landing in new, unexplored lands.

We set sail tomorrow evening, our desto is the desert which is about 4 or 5 squares from us and will be our longest trip to date by far. It should be fun and hopefully we make it home in one piece with a cargohold full of salt and other goods.

  9. I actually find it fun avoiding sotd, especially when loaded up with loot. I do play pve so Im not worrying about players trying to kill me too, which probably makes a differance. The seas would get boring fast if you could pretty much auto pilot from grid to grid. My brother actually really enjoys sitting in the crows nest scouting ahead for sotd and floatsomes.

When we get to a border wall we just send someone in a dingy or swiming through first as a scout to makes sure sotd arent camping the other side. Kind of like having a scout go ahead in an interceptor in Eve making sure there aren't any gate camps.

  10. NA Official Pve- Lawless

A little back ground first. Currently we have a small stone base on lawless island. We are a 4 person company that includes my wife and 2 brothers. Our main play times are Saturdays and Sundays, but my wife and I get on for atleast an hour a day during the week for gathering and what not.

Long term plans are hopefully establish a small trade hub. Right now we have a rest area of sorts, with about 20 public water resivoirs and a public mess table we leave food and milk in for anyone that passes through

Our current ships include 2 sloops, a combat fit schooner, a brig that is about 90% complete (needs cannons), and a trade/exploration focused schooner that is about 95% complete.

This weekend we have plans to go exploring, focusing on heading to the desert to load up on salt and other goods to trade and make alloy with our local metal, colbalt. So 2 days ago we decided to start working on a trade focused schooner, because our combat fit was a bit on the heavy side for exploring and farming things to trade.

So today my wife and I managed to scrounge together enough wood, thatch, and metal to finish the decks, planks and sails which took longer then expected but we got it done. We didnt have to gather any fiber because we stock piled about 30k with a bear we got in trade last weekend. All thats left is outfitting it, which we should have finished in plenty of time for our trip Saturday.

And that is about all we got accomplished today, lol.

  11. I kind of like the way it is, sure its risky, but it lets you build trust in people and trade relationships. Made my 1st trade this weekend. 15k thatch for a bear. Loaded it on our schooner, sailed to the guys island, loaded it into their loom on their scooner (unlockable at the time) and when we had all 15k in he unclaimed the bear and we went on our way with it and formed a trade relationship with him. Sure you will get screwed from time to time but the risk is part of the fun.

Friends and I sailed to many islands trying to find one that was over claimed, with lawless home servers not being allowed, does that mean beds on our rafts will no longer let us respawn where we set up?

Nope, just means you cant use a lawless as a home spawn without a bed
