    Hmm. If I understand the problem correctly you guys are having trouble with bottles not giving maps for a grid that's offline? That sounds like a sensible conclusion, but all of our server grids are always online and we still have about 1 in 3 bottles are "empty" and don't give a map. Is this maybe the same problem you are having? I always assumed that it was the way it was supposed to be - there's a chance that some bottles are empty. Maybe not?

    Hey, Cap'n.

    Yeah, if the bottle rolls for a map in an offline grid, it comes up empty. In your case, you're saying all of the grids are up, which makes me believe that the bottle is trying to roll for a grid far enough away that it doesn't exist in your world. So if you are running a 2x2 and you roll a 12 quality map, it's looking for a grid that is maybe 3 grids away, but that doesn't exist so it comes up blank.

    As far as how common the empty maps are, there should NEVER be an empty map if everything is running properly. I've never played PvP or PvE, but at least in singleplayer, you get a hit every single time.

  2. Going to have to agree with Father Chucksteak on this one.

    After doing literally nothing for over a year with no feedback or communication, they have been at least making attempts every few weeks regularly. Some of these attempts are more backwards than forward, but at least things are happening.

    Personally, I'm still pretty pissed that the early Feb update auto-disabled Fog of War on my personal dedicated server. I can't for the life of me figure out how to undo it. BUT... things are changing. Grapeshot is at least making some moves.

  3. Hi Jack,

    Look up Phoenix125 here on the forum. He has a server manger guide that I currently use to play on a 15x15 map solo. It was a lot of work for me personally. I knew absolutely nothing about servers, IP addresses, port forwarding, etc. But it works perfectly for me. I can travel between grids just fine. I DO, however, try not to jinx/overload it. I cut sails right as I'm about to cross over. I don't tab out, move or try to open menu/inventory until everything seems to have populated and things are running smoothly.

    Hope this helps, m8y.

  4. The problem with a singleplayer discord is that it would read like this: don't play singleplayer.

    It is far too glitchy at the moment to be of any use. You WILL run into a game-breaking bug sooner or later. Until Grapeshot improves the stability of their mess, don't play official singleplayer.

    If you want to go solo, run a dedicated server for yourself. Search for Phoenix on here and there are a couple of others who have perfect instructions. Not easy, but worth it if you really love this game, as I do.

    • Thanks 1

  5. For the above seasick sailors wondering if the devs ever read this, I can almost 100% confirm that is a no. I have said some arguable ILLEGAL things in here to just get a response. Nothing. I even told them how upset I was at Atlas that I went ahead and pirated the entire ARK collection just to get even and encouraged others to do the same. Haven't even been banned from the forum for that one.

    As for singleplayer, when I played it quite a bit about a year ago, it was in better condition than it is today. I tried a few days ago. CTD while trying to switch grids. Lost my ship, crew, items. Anytime I try to switch grids from the one I'm currently at right now, same crash.

    Singleplayer is utterly unplayable at this point. I suggest you don't even try, or you WILL run into a game breaking bug and lose all progress.

    My only current workaround right now is playing solo on a dedicated server. Don't pay money for a private hosting service. Search around on PlayAtlas for Phoenix or there is a few others who have created a system to host your own server. It's a lot of work, to be sure, and it's not the same experience as singleplayer. But so far, I haven't encountered any game-ending bugs. When it does crash, and it will, it doesn't seem to corrupt files. That being said, I make sure I have multiple backups just in case.

    Hope this helps, lads!

    And if anyone can figure out how to ENABLE the Fog of War in a dedicated server, please tell me! Ever since the early February 2021 update, FoW is auto-disabled and I absolutely hate it.

    I've used a raft with a diving attachment since I started playing.  Of course, you lose the ability to haul any significant amount of resources and initially more than 5 companions.  But sometimes I prefer it to boats lol It's just so silly but so much fun. You have to place the attachment before putting anything else on your raft. You also may have to pull into deeper water first as I've occasionally found that it won't place if where you're sitting in really shallow. I hope this helps, and happy sailing 🙂

    Lol, that's just too silly for me. I know I'm playing a game that allows me to fight cyclopses and dragons and krakens, but a diving attachment on a raft is just too unbelievable for me.

  7. Hi friendo, I am having the same problem myself. I play by myself on a 15x15 map. I rarely have more than 2 servers up and going at the same time let alone all 225.

    I am trying to flesh out a sort of workaround right now. Every time I pick up a treasure bottle, I write down what the quality is on a list IF it ends up being a dud. I am trying to figure out some method to using admin commands to generate them later.

    The command is:   cheat givetreasuremap 1 0 0    for a 1 quality treasure map (common)

    But here's the deal, if I change the 2nd value to a higher number like 1 for instance, it has an effect on the quality. I haven't figured out exactly how these values work together. Only that higher = better = more grids away. I believe the 2nd value works a lot like generating a regular item in common/fine/journeyman etc, but it has to be paired up with an appropriate 1st value in order to get a hit.

    Example: I used "givetreasuremap 3.6 0 0" at least 30x while I had about 5-6 grids open. Nothing hit. But when I used "givetreasuremap 3.6 1 0" I got a hit on my current grid in one shot.

    That's all the information I have, sailor. If you come up with any new strats, please let me/us all know!

  8. Sigh... I guess no one knows then.

    I tried going back to singleplayer.

    Pros: Fog of war works, islands have actual names, wild pirates work.

    Cons: almost all discovery points disabled so no motivation to explore, mega-gay 11x11 map instead of 15x15, is a bugged out mess of shit that is simply not playable. Tried to cross to another grid, crashed, now absolutely cannot cross into another grid without crashing AND losing my ship and crew.

    Strangely enough, singleplayer was actually in a better state over a year ago when I played. It ran smoother and I never had a game-ending bug like this. Guess I'll just deal the no FoW and no wild pirates...

  9. I need halp, lads!

    This update yesterday (2/10) screwed me over big time. My entire map is revealed, no fog of war. I am playing on a 15x15 personal dedicated server. Since the update yesterday, the individual servers are now getting these new lines auto-added under GameUserSetting.ini:

    [/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/TestGameMode.TestGameMode_C]
    bUseWildPirateCamps=False
    PositiveTradeEventCooldownPeriod=7200.000000
    GeneralTradeEventChance=0.700000
    PositiveTradeEventChance=0.500000
    bUseSettlementClaims=True
    bDisableFogOfWar=True
    bUseNewStructureFoundationSupportChecks=True
    RemoveItemsOverCraftingSkillBonus=0.600000
    MaximumCraftingSkillBonus=0.600000
    OldPlayerDataMaxXP=877438.000000

    Even when I manually change and save these settings, as soon as the server starts up, it gets overwritten to this^

    Until now, my fog of war was working perfectly fine. I had to explore to uncover the map, just like I wanted. Now ALL map revealed, and every island has this stupid settlement points number on it.

    Would really appreciate some halp, frens.

  10. Has anyone ever figured out how to adjust your private server's loot tables via .ini files? I understand the ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems= (blah, blah long string of commands), but I can't figure out the proper names for any tables other than the following:

    PrimalInventoryBP_SupplyCrate_Floatsam_C
    PrimalInventoryBP_GenericFishing_C
    PrimalInventoryBP_BaseMeatFishing_C

    Anyone know the correct "SupplyCrateClassString=" names I should be using for SotD, Treasure Map, Shipwreck/Sunken Treasure, Pirate Encampments, etc? Would be much appreciated.

    In my opinion, having ships cost gold to build is going to cause a huge disparity between small groups and larger groups. Typically, gold is a big deal to smaller companies. So if you have a ship cost 500 gold to make it, you're discouraging newer players/small groups from being able to make and try all of the ship types. On top of that, they're very likely to lose boats more easily (since they don't have as much experience, or as large of a fleet to take a fight). So they'll be having to build more boats. All I can imagine is that it's going to run small companies out of gold very quickly, forcing them to be stuck using sloops (which are terrible). I would highly suggest re-thinking this change.

    I am still waiting, along with numerous other players who you Globally Banned recently for supposed "exploits" to find out why, or if we will ever be allowed to play again. We have still yet to be told what we did, or when this will be fixed or when we can appeal this decision. I have put in tickets, sent emails, etc. We did not intentionally cheat or exploit anything. We were all daily active players who love your game. Most of us are XBOX players who chat and played the game daily with friends. We were merged into in a large company, of which you banned every member. We just want to be able to play your game again, and we did not cheat or exploit anything on purpose or know anyone who did. Whatever action you took on all of us was way over board. Still love your game, and wish you all the best. Hoping to hear back from someone about this issue.

    Oof. That sounds brutal, m8.

    Awesome! Keep pushing in the right direction team Atlas! Though i hope you also address more bugs and glitches/optimization please! Like maybe show a "before/after" so the community understands your actually working hard to fix the game itself. These new features sound great though!

    "before/after' = very good idea.

    soo... bigger then Brigantine.. and only 2 sail? I presume it will be slow af..  what that larges on the deck on front? we are again able to place racks whit larges on decks? And will that ship be able to ram sotd? Too many questions.. waiting for new acusations for exploiting from players, who dont know xD.

    Of course it'll probably be busted one way or the other at first. Either too OP or too useless.

    That's not the point. The point is that all my Twitter, Discord and Atlas Forums kvetching have finally lit a fire under their asses, and the dev team might start taking this project seriously.

    All the new features are going to need tweaking after they launch. That's just how it is. However the ramming ship is at first, they'll adjust it until MAGA.
