  1. Those last few points being made are pretty accurate..   Its not fun going on offical pvp servers and getting wiped constantly, or getting wiped once.. after putting in mad hours to make tech/metal massive bases.. thats why i dont play on official servers..    You'd be amazed at how much more fun it is to play on private servers.   just my opinion of course.  I even find unoffical pvp have danger as well.. just not as much or as often..  which is about the right amount for me.  Also i hide my base.. play solo..or in very small groups.. so we don't stick out like a sore thumb.  we seem to last wayy longer.. or never get wiped.

I've gamed as long as you have, or longer, and I assure you that games were not as buggy as they are now.  They also used to pay testers until they learned that they could get us to do it for free, and then they stopped worrying about fixing bugs, when they realized people would still buy their buggy games.  The bugs that made it through in the past, were minor.  But, putting together buildings in this game, is a central aspect of the game.  Everything hinges on that, and when you simply can't create a building, and you get half finished, or more, before you find things that prevent you from finishing the building...no...that's game breaking.  Know what else is game breaking?  We moved to a new location several tiles away.  So I load up my two bears...bears that took days to breed and imprint, and then weeks to get to near maxxed out, but they disappear on the ship, so you don't know if they are there or not.  Then, all of the animals, two small pets, and one bear reappear, but the better of the two bears is gone.  Just glitched off the ship.  Sorry, but that is simply unacceptable.  That's weeks of time that is just gone, for no reason other than crappy code.  I can live with the glitch at sea, where you submerge under water, and the you get that twitch that won't go away until you restart the game.  That's just irritating, but I can live with it.  But tames that just disappear because you dared to take them on a ship and cross boundaries...that is a central mechanic of the game, and it's broke as fuck.  But, if I report this missing bear, will the Devs use admin powers to give it back?  Not a chance.  And you wonder why people aren't flocking back to this game?

older games also took less work, not as complicated programming, and were finished quicker and easier to fix as well..  Games , with time, are only getting more complicated and time consuming to make.   Some dev teams nowadays are made up of multiple diff teams based in diff studios to make games for some AAA titles.

Its an unfinished game.. in early access.. not everything is gonna work right..  Bugs may pop up as they continue to work on it.. old bug, new bugs.. glitches, etc.  Its life with an early access uncompleted game...    Im wowed at the number of ppl who just ignore that fact and expect it to work perfect...

Hello Xbox Players and welcome to the Atlas,

i am Zottel from the Company Fairy Tail on EU PVE and i will try to answer some frequently asked questions about Atlas, and will also respond if you have other questions.

    - How to get Gold?

There are many way to earn Gold but i will list the most common ones for you.

    - Shipwrecks: You can find procederly generated Shipwreck which contain gold and food etc. I recommend using a Diving Platform on your Ship to loot these.

Whaling: While PETA wont like this method,it is still an easy way to kill the monstrous Sperm and Bluewhale in order to get some Gold.

The easiest way would be using a Schooner with 3 Ballistas on the back manned by NPC crew.

-Treasure Maps: Treasure maps are awesome and bring loads of Gold, but you first need to find those glowing bottles on shores and beaches.

As the common ones are quite easy i´d recommend doing those at the start, while Journyman and higher require you to have atleast a good tame you shouldn´t try those without atleast a decent Bear.

    Where do i build?

This question will define how and where to settle and should be choosen wisely and considering what suits your playstyle at most.

Own an Island: Sure owning an Island sounds great, but you need to pay an upkeep every 12 Hours and if not payed you will lose your island.

While you can generate Taxes from Tennants and also stretch the payment period up to every 19 Hours, Tennants are a good start and will help you alot if you both Co-exist. Be aware of the fact that the 20% Tax are additive and your Tennant will still get 100% of what he farms, while you get additional 20% into your Flag/TaxBank. You can demolish stuff build on your Island within 24 Hours, after that you need to wait about 30 days till the decay timer destroys it.

Lawless islands: As the name suggest, there are no existing laws. It has a rather fast spawning resources but you will also need to deal with neighboors and if unlucky end in a Foundation spam War,as this will be the only way to secure Land there.

Living as a Settler: If you dont mind living for free on someone elses island, this will be your choice. Be aware of the Fact that the Landlord still can demolish your structures within 24 Hours after beeing build. But if you communicate with the Landlord you will most likely find a nice place and friendly people to get started with.

Tames: To Tame a creature you will first need to learn taming ( Tier1 Tier 2 Tier3 ) to tame the creature of your choice. First prepare some Bolas and bow and Arrows, then find the creature to tame and dmg it till ~20% HP and you are able to use the Bola on it. Now feed them their preferred food till the Bola runs out and you need to dmg it again. i would recommend to wear Plate Armor and use a taming pen,as those will make the whole process alot easier.

Seeds?: In Atlas you can get many different kinds of Veggies which you need to tame Creatures or for cooking some delicious pirate food. You will find those seeds by collecting the "wild" version of it and need to plant them with some poop in a crop plot. Be aware of the fact that it needs to be watered, fertilized and be in the right biome as you cant grow all Crops in all regions.

How to sell or buy stuff: Most Blueprints item, etc. will be sold via a Discord server. But you will also be able to set up or find Playershops on Islands where you can buy or sell your goods.

Ships and level: The level of ships is defined by the quality/ durability of the shipyard you  use for the shipsceleton. For common shipyards the max. level of a ship is 42. If you do treasure maps and find better shipyards with high durability you can raise the max. level up to 52. From 100 ~120% durability your ship will still be max. level 42, but every full 10% more durability will bring you one more level to your max. level ships.

Max level of tames: The max. wild level of tames is 30. If you dont loose any taming affinity and use the prefered food you can get them up to level 44 after taming. Bred tames can have a way higher level at birth if the stats are combined and im not sure where the limit is, but the highest we had was 120 after birth. The max. Level a tame can reach is defined by its wild level ( level after its been tamed ) x2 +30. A perfect tame ( level 44) will be able to reach level 118 that way

If you have any further questions feel free to join our Discord: https://discord.gg/EYC7epU or write in the comments and i try to answer your questions as soon as possbile 😉

Wild Pirate Encampments give gold as well on singleplayer.  Not quite as much as treasure maps, but a similar amount of gold that flotsom on the ocean(floating crates) gives you.

Always approach the tame from the leg side.  Pretty universal approach for most tames.  Inch in very carefully.  If this still does not work you either have the wrong food in the hotbar (has to be in slot 0) or its bugged.

If everyone having this issue has the right food and its in the hotbar properly.......does Xbox have a hotbar with 1 though 0?  Just realized that could be completely different for Xbox players.  Anyway it needs to have the right food in the right hotbar.  As I said its "0" for PC players.  If you approach them from the back side and try to feed from the top/back area of the head many tames including elephants do not work.

i forget the button, but its the far right hotbar slot.

I would like to see occasional spawns of something valuable, but its position given on the global map, then people have chance to get there and fight over it.    Just a place marked with high chance of ship combat. Hell I would love to see a sailing arena. To just roll up in a ship and enter then have fun ship fighting.   Could be some sort of prize for the winner

thats not a bad idea.. and it would get ppl on the seas.. like the devs want more of

There’s another possible solution that happened to me. I’ve been playing since day 1 and knew I was at the correct island. What it was there was an identical island in the grid. Sound simple but I was sure I was on the island but was not.

possibly.. ive seen them on freeports..

So. Firstly. I love this game. Pretty positive I'm one of the most active on Xbox, literally playing everyday. It's my new addiction.

But now the topic at hand, how fast can we expect major content updates. Like PC content that xbox is missing like submarines and the giant crab. Or microtransactions/purchasable DLC.

P.s - We want Viking content!  Hairstyles, weaponry, ships, creatures, maybe a blood eagle execution ( curse ) ?

Same.. been playing it every night after work and weekends since it dropped on xbox.

So far, they have been updating it the same as pc.. to keep them at the same version basically.   They said they are gonna stop doing the minor every other day fixes, and start doing larger ones that arent as often.  Their roadmap kinda describes their future with the game releases/additions/fixes

  8. Ever since the game dropped on xbox, my ship structures have taken damage from sotd cannon balls.  Walls, railings, ceilings, smithy, mortorpestle, table.. you name it.. They don't take massive damage.. the damage is spread around the area of impact like a shotgun blast.. so nothing is taking full concentrated fire but planks, but all the other structures are taking damage.

I don't see why they would be indestructible..

  9. 11 minutes ago, Myrmidon said:

Or less land stuff more boat stuff?

thats actually what the developers want.. more ocean time.. less land time.  They mention that in their roadmap.

I believe one of Arks new items in the upcoming dlc is a floating foundation...  I also believe after that is implemented, it will be brought over to Atlas.. for ocean bases...   Pure speculation.. but my belief

That depends, if you are using the full map they will be there.

I've no idea about blackwood or custom maps, but would assume you wouldn't get them there.

using the full map?  what do you mean?    Singleplayer is the full map.. all grids.  The discoveries don't work on the full map on single player other then the basic landfall island discoveries.

After reading over this i just wanted to specify...  The "full map" as in the Ocean map.  Not Blackwood..  and i guess your talking about pc... i know on xbox the location discoveries don't work, but the island discoveries do.

Put the crew on the sails and wheel or take them off the boat if you are going to be parked for a while. I just fire them all and rehire the next time I go out to save the gold.  But that's only an option if you don't need high level crew.

this.   Just put all your crew on a station.. sails.. cannons, wheel..   then they wont "fix"(sweep animation)   You shouldnt ever need anymore crew then that.  1 crew per sail, 1 per cannon, and 1 for wheel...   then when you wanna fix in port, just use the   wheel guy.. he's parttime anyways lol

  12. I play single player.  Its mostly all i play on Ark too except i occasionly join an unofficial pc server when i want a ppl fix, and even then i dont see too many..   No lag... no issues with ppl and buildings and/or blocking..  i can fix most bugs with a quick admin command on singleplayer too.  I change some settings to make solo more fun, like raise gather rates just a bit.  As far as Atlas goes, get a bear, get a couple treasure maps, then use the coin to buy a crew.  For late game, breed bears, and gets lots of mythic for legendary or mythical planks.

trust me when i say when game released it was deadly , then the players cried and the dangerous spawns were nerfed , the players cried more, then the amount of spawns were reduced ,now we have a snooze fest boring trot around with no danger at all

ahh ic ic..   Yeah i have alot of friends who quit Ark after buying it cuz they died on the beach and couldnt handle dieing continually ..  Get better.. learn from the attackers.. adapt.. get good

  14. I miss the danger of Ark..   On Ark you have to have your gaurd up at all times.. be prepared for a carnivore to come sprinting out of the jungle to wreck you.   At least in the early game.

In Atlas.. its oh hum.. almost no danger on any land..  Ive been attacked by the random lion, tiger or snake.. but for the most part.. its been very easy going..  No threats really...  It's not as dangerous..  I get it.. its a pirate game, so they want you to play on officials, and the danger is the other pirates..

I play solo, but on Ark I play on 8 or 10.  Atlas I even crank up the difficulty.. I never play on 1.. its always 2 or more.. to 5, or 8 or 10.  Thats my old style on Ark. I've noticed the tames cant lvl past a certain amount or dont gain levels if you tame them over 100-something.. so ive kept the difficulty at 2 usually tho.

It'd be cool if there were random pirates walking around the islands(like Arks dinos, not nearly as many tho) and 2 or 3 sprinted down the beach when they seen you make landfall.  Imagine you just make landfall, build a campfire or start walking/running to explore, then you hear a gunshot, or a "Arrrg" and 2 random lvl pirates come running towards you from the jungle.  Your not ready and u have to run cuz your under lvled or dont have a weapon yet.   That would add that sense of threat.  I do realize some islands have tiger or lion spawns not far from shore..  I watched a yt series of a guy and he kept getting his house and animals attacked by continuous spawning lions, but would suck and I would just move, or lvl up my boars eventually like that guy did.

I do love Atlas as I do Ark and don't get me wrong, the serenity of the beaches and making landfall is nice.. but i do miss that sense of threat  Thats my only complaint.

During a land battle with 150 players fighting over the same island the rubber banding goes beyond reason. It's impossible to predict where the enemy will teleport to next which makes firearms and most melee weapons completely useless against players.

I get that it is early access but server performance should have been the top priority from day one and whenever I log in even if there's no one else in my grid it takes a whole minute, sometimes even two, for our base to load in before I can open any doors/containers.

You can't expect to get proper feedback on how to better balance PVP for the future when lag plays a major role in what tactics are viable and you can't expect anyone to continue playing when it's a 9-12 hour long headache to defend their territory every single day. Most people who don't even work for a living will only play for half that time or less which is one of the other major reasons for a low player count prior to the introduction of peace time.

However IF it weren't so laggy and the minimum wind speed were raised to make travel by sea more bearable it would be a different story.

Ark was the same way for me on officials on ps4.. So i only play on singleplayer or pc hosted servers.  Lots of buildings or ships lags up the area..

When I’m on an island and go up to a discovery on the island for example I went to the eagles nest and ole Elliott’s walk on creslin refuge in n7 and tried the chair trick I seen on videos multiple times and looked through the telescope and there’s no forcefield bubble thing either. Tried with others on other islands too nothing shows up

Same problems im having.  I can't see the forcefields around the locations in which i know excatly where a few are.  Do you have to be 51 before they show up?   or what?   I do see each islands blue forcefield that dissappears when you discover the island by making landfall..  I just cant get those individual ones you find at odd locations.

i was highlighting the key words, and i didnt decontextualize anything so i dont see the problem, other than you being frustrated by your own lack of a counter argument

wrong again, my posts suggest i played the game, yes the past tense of play, havent touched this crap in several months, nor i will in the next months (or ever), i come here to educate people, forcing them to open their eyes to reality, the gaming industry is playing the game of indoctrinating us into a culture of conformism and mediocrity so they can do as they please, i wont let that happen, as long as i can do something about it i will, even if it means that i have to argue with trolls and haters,

and like i said this aint about bugs alone, bugs is only 10% of whats wrong with this game, still 10% is worth mentioning

so you are factualy admiting your own excuse for the current state (being in early access) wont make a difference at all after the game is finally released

yes, as i mentioned above they are in alpha stage of development, whats your point?

nope, as i said i am not, why would i play this having 7 days to die, exygen not included and satisfactory???

PS: if you tought blocking me would stop me from quoting you, well you are deeply mistaken  😃

    i didnt block you lmao

  18. idiotic drivel.. breaking down each of my sentences into each word you think best fits...  your other posts suggest you play the game.... why tho??  why don't you stop playing..  and stop coming here..  judging by your other posts, it seems your kinda salty from the game trolling you, so your coming on here to troll ?

Like i said.. therte are other Triple A games.. top games in history.. with bugs.. however minor they may be.. its a thing since the early days of gaming.. nothing new.  And the game isn't finished..  thats why its called early access..  Once it is out of early access and finished.. there will still be patches to fix things, like any other game nowadays.

You use 7Days as an example.. I believe they are still updating and patching, and adding things..   In this day and age games are rarely done.  Especially with these smaller teams from non AAA games.

and you know what even better? you will still look for excuses even when its officially released in a pityfull state, why? because thats what mediocrity and comformism are all about.

excuses for why their are bugs still when its out of early access?  lmao why would i do that.   Triple AAA titles that are amazing have bugs... Its part of gaming.. get used to it bud.. ive been gaming since 1990..   Im used to it.   Why don't you go into programming and singlehandely fix the problems with the developers these days then..  Get on it.. or ppl like you will start complaining to you..
