Looking for character transfer guidance

I've got to do some traveling and wanted to be able to log into NA PVE for basic base maintenance activities so I loaded the game on my laptop. When launching Atlas using my normal steam login I do not have a rejoin choice, just the "new" choice, options and exit. I've looked around a bit and not found this discussed/resolved yet. I could play ARK official with this same setup (desktop and laptop) but don't recall if you had to copy some files from one computer to another.

Not wanting to risk this character and access to all my structures and ships I now await some pointers to where I can find a solution.

It works for me, didn’t had to do anything. I can keep switching in between them, can anyone else also confirm?

Do you have steamcloud on?

there's currently a bug affecting a number of peeps where the "rejoin Atlas" option is missing at log in. That could be your problem and the laptop thing is just coincidence

Steam cloud has been on. I'll retry a few times and see what happens.
