Gumpnstein 21 Posted January 14, 2019 (edited) So this is my suggestion to the Devs after 300 hours played on pvp servers. Remove ghost ships. They really have no purpose on a PvP server. IMO what they actually do 1: Reduce overall number of player made ships on water, thus directly reducing PvP encounters in Ocean. 2: Increase time to sail to other islands and explore by either wasting time fighting them or zigzagging all over the map to avoid them. Again further reducing potential pvp encounters on other islands and reducing the number of overall people even willing to sail around the map. 3: They reduce the player base and do nothing to increase it. Noone plays this game because of Ghost Ships. People have quit this game or moved to private servers because of ghost ships. 4: Waste you the developers time when you could be working on things that matter. They do have those impacts and in return they offer very little in terms of entertainment, enjoyment, or any positives overall. My suggestion: Leave them the way they are on PvE servers. Remove them completely from the PvP experience and let the oceans on PvP servers be about PvP. If there is no real purpose to keep something, scratch it. This game has a pvp problem, its 90% pve. The best place that pvp has a solid return for your time in terms of resources taken etc is on the ocean. Base raiding is tedious, resource consuming etc. But raiding PvP ships is one of the best returns on your time investment in the game. INCREASE THE CHANCES OF THIS EXPERIENCE. Bases should be difficult but the open water should be dangerous of getting raided by other players. If your dead set on keeping some of them because you refuse to abandon your original vision for the game...then set a few areas for people to farm them on a few grids. That will actually create pvp because people will all be going there to farm them for xp. But you have a sailing game where a ton of people are not sailing, or they are zigzagging and spending all day fighting fake ships when we could be spending that time exploring many more islands and interacting with players instead of npc's. JUST TRY IT!!!! We are testing, so take em out for a week and see how it goes. Who in their right mind is going to miss them?
