Serve at 4000+ days and timeout connecting fixed by wiping the redis db, is there a better solution?

So I made a test server, and connected, then logged out and went to sleep.  The next day I could not log in due to timeouts and it said that the server day was 4378. 

I read hear that doing the clear all of redis fixes, well, it wiped all progress and let me log  to make a new character but day was still 4378 or more.  

Is this a common problem and if so is there a better solution?

in your servergrid.json there is a line near the top that lets you set the date.
