Ben Fargo 0 Posted September 6, 2019 Is it possible to switch the character that hosts a non-dedicated session? Recently, my brother and I have mainly been playing Atlas together in non-dedicated sessions. We like that we can choose the mods and settings we want and we do not have to worry about our tames not being fed if we do not play for several days. The performance has been excellent. We had to get used of the tethering, but we understand the need for it and it is a small inconvenience compared to the benefits we see in non-dedicated sessions. There are times when only one of us wants to play. I started the game with my character as the host, so I can switch to single player mode whenever I want to. However, we have not found a way for my brother to play his character when I am not available. We live in the same house, so he can play on the host machine, but it always starts my character no matter who is logged into Steam when we start the game. I assume it would be possible to export the characters, transfer their files between the computers and import them, but that seems like a process that would be too complicated for something we would want to do frequently. DocHolliday 366 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) Never heard of this option. Doesn't steam have an option for saving game files? Wonder if this feature could be leveraged and shared. Dunno. It does seem logical that all files for this are saved locally and could be moved. Edited September 6, 2019 by DocHolliday
