Sounds like this is more of a "I didn't get land and want it" based off the last part of "fair game to start off". Launch sucked but everyone had roughly the same experience.
Want a fresh start? Go to an unofficial.
Wiping right before a major content patch would be extremely foolish and would just mean they wouldn't get to test what they are about to throw at us for another month or two.
