We're currently evaluating our claim system and seeing what changes we can make to improve it across the board, as it definitely needs work. It's arguable that the 3 day timer may need to be increased now that we no longer allow sleeping bodies to contest claims, but due to the limited amount of land available and how PvE servers work we have to put measures in place to make sure that land cannot be sat on indefinitely.

Players can still use Crew (which are to be fed and paid) to contest claims. The sleeping measure we put in place was more so to tackle users who hadn't logged on in days and hadn't planned to but were still contesting their inactive claims because their bodies had not died.

How about you "evaluate" before making changes, maybe involve the community and then change it? You and your team always move from one extreme to the opposite extreme without any thought about it whatsoever it seems. It should be plainly obvious that if you remove the ability to contest while sleeping, 3 days is way too short. People do have jobs, they have a private life and even go on vacations. Dedication is fine, but please get real. How would you feel if you take a 2 weeks break with your family and when you return, will have lost everything you worked for in your spare time for the past months?

Well, I guess I should feel lucky. I mean I can use berries to tame... provided I don't mind using 50 bolas and wasting an hour to do it.  But I'm sure that'll be rectified just as soon as they make paste and metal a requirement to make bolas too. (Shit I should stop giving them ideas *sigh*)

This one will be on you! 😉

Well they are meant to be harsh.   I dont mind that tundra doesnt have sap, same for the desert.   There isn't a lot in the tundra in real life, this is why Siberia is a miserable place.   Same goes for the desert, not much industry in the Sahara.

There are valuable resources tho in Siberia, which makes industries go there to exploit them, if atleast Tundra would have something unique that you could trade for SAP it would make sense, but what are people in Tundra supposed to trade, all the basic mats, inlcuding metal are way more accessible in the central regions, Tundra has nothing of value, expect a bit of land those who got shafted at the beginning call home.

They have to introduce raidtimers like you got them in eve online so you cant get offlined/rekt when only 1 is online

With their track record so far, I wouldn`t count on them to not screw this up.

As for the OP, no, its not a good change in the way it was done. First, not everything is about PVP, even if you would like to, second, decrease durability, fine, increase costs, meh but ok, do both is overkill. From a pure pvp point, decreasing the durability of stone would have been enough without screwing the pve players over.

  5. So, with the current SotD insanity going on (having up to 10 spawn spontanously around you), you now force players from areas without any SAP to sail between 2-5 areas to find it (with it soon being farmed to death anyway) in order to build stone structures. So these trips prolly take you around 2-4 hours, depending on luck, wind and if you even make it and if you make it, if there is still some SAP available on the islands. Great design choice for casual players, maybe state that in the intro "Atleast 5 hours of continuous playing needed to get anything done, not suited for casual solo players or small groups)

The difference between the FoY insanity and this one is, the first is a single event you need to die your way through once a month, the later being a daily constant grind addition. You do realise, people play games for fun, right? Most of us already have day jobs and we even get payed for those, I was not looking for another job where I actually have to pay someone else to do it ... think again Devs, and think hard. If you do not want a playerbase, just say so, stop torturing it.

  6. Well, I have been on the fence already if I should continue to play or not with every bad change they made over the recent days, making the game more and more tedious and grindy. This latest change finally did it, well done Devs, does actually anyone in your team have a clue about game design ?
