After rocky start, focus on Gear and More Tames... your player base is bottoming out.

Can we take a serious look at what is healthy for the game, and appropriate size of world needed for PVP... I feel its too large for the current player base and is promoting stagnant growth....

We can argue all day PVE kids or you can stay out of my thread as this pertains to the only player base that can save this game. (PVPvE)  Thanks.

    entitled much ,

look at the numbers that play across the different server type similar number play both pve and pvp so get off your high horse ,

the devs them selfs have said they are not concerned with the player numbers at this stage they are developing a game for potential higher numbers and as such suggestions like yours telling other players that don’t play your way to fuck off and have no say , shows u have no clue how to develope a game that encompasses all player types

the map map size is fine for now and for future growth ,

While it's not hard to kill em (I already sunked 20 of them and I do it without louvers designs or kiting tactics) and IMAO - right now the fight is way more interesting than before - the LOOT problem is here.

Especially in high-lvl fights. And of course for Galley fighters. Because you sail and maneuvering a-lot (and Galley-guys have to do 1-2 minutes full sail straights). You basically get loot from last SotD you sink because you can not find all other or because long fight - they just gone.

Something needs to me done about this. For example - loot flotsams  need to be marked somehow (like on the map, or even with light pillars like corpse but with extended visibility). And It has to live long enough so you have tame to fight all fleet, then sail to each flotsam and then dive and gather them.

anything above approx 30-35 will require at least 2 ships to destroy them in a timescale that allows you too grab the loot before it despawns ,

although a few extra minutes on the despawn timer would certainly help with this issue

  3. go into the game paint an outline around the flag save it ,

grab atlas paint converter grab the saved file from the my paintings game folder convert to png

edit the png u created to your hearts content with your choice of editor ,then save with paint converter as  pnt keeping the same name

go back into game your edited painting will be there .

No, that wasn't the point of this recent change, otherwise they wouldn't have given the landlords the ability to destroy things.  The point of the change was to try to make sure people had A place to build...not anywhere and anytime they want.

You don't think the person having to come up with gold to pay for the island should get to decide what spot(s) they want to build on?  Or who they want building nearby them?  You think if they don't let anyone build anything wherever they want, they're an asshole?  You think this system was designed to not allow landlords to decide how things work on their island?  What a bunch of weird opinions that is.

I don't own an island, but I live on a small one.  It was days before the island owner could even think about where he wanted to build because as a low level, no skill player, he had to come up with a whole bunch of gold first to claim it and keep it.   There are only @ 3 decent building spots on the island.  If people had sailed up and started grabbing them, I would have wiped all that out immediately.  It's pretty freaking rude.  Speaking of rude, if I owned an island, and someone named "Sexy Grandpa"  or  "P3nius Pirate" (both actual names I've seen in the game) landed there and started building, I'd throw their asses out of there so fast it would make your head spin.  That goes double for the company that griefed a bunch of us previously in lawless.  I'm not interested in spending my free time with people like that.

I don't know how people can read that new design, see where they've given landlords the power to destroy stuff, and then claim the design is so anyone can build whatever they want, wherever they want, any time they want to.

it was designed as far too many players couldn’t build as whole islands and areas were taken over and set to company only , solo players owning entire islands as they got their first ,

the whole point of this system was to allow players to build where they wanted in whatever biome they wanted too and where they want to on any given island ,not just in what was left over that no one else wanted , don’t try to twist what was the whole point of the system redesign

the captains log before the redesign even stated they wanted to help solo players and smaller company’s , this system allows that , unfortunately the system they designed although is better for smaller companies and solo players is better suited for pvp than it is pve, which is where the landlord system shines ,the point of pve is for a more casual relaxed atmosphere in which to game without having to worry about logging on n and seeing your base gone

i keep seeing they they pay for the upkeep so they should have the say in who can build and where , again removing / destroying others bases is not why players play pve.

lawless population shows what the majority of players think of the new system it’s not that there isn’t any where to build outside of lawless , it’s cos they can build what they want where they want and how they want without dick landlords removing their stuff on a whim as they want as i have said it other posts all the toys in the sandbox .

We started out with a small 15 point island, really not worth it sadly. They are really tiny and the resources are not enough to sustain ship/base building. In that case you are really better off with lawless, there are still quite a lot of them empty, depending on the region. Im in a small company myself, i know how frustrating it is, but i hope they will reduced the points and gold upkeep at some point. I guess they overestimated the playerbase and size of companies at least for PvE.

as they have stated they are not worried about player base size  at this stage of development , the systems they are designing are for the longer term game and if all goes well and good design decisions are made an increase in players base and larger company’s

I would suggest just putting down some foundations in the area you want to build to secure it. Then you'll have all the time in the world to build in that spot as long as you keep the upkeep going on the flag.

they don’t need to as island owners they can demo anything others place on the area they want to build

as an island owner trying to stop other players from building is an asshole move and exactly what this system was designed to eliminate ,

thankfully not every island owner has the Op mentality of wanting to stop anyone building as he claims, until he has built his base , which makes no sense as others building in other spots on the island in now way shape or form affect them . in fact it helps them as upkeep timer is longer between payments

  8. it’s not meant to be a use forever useful boat it’s a quick get out of freeport

i still maintain it should never have been added to freeport , should have been left at rafts as first thing u go to sea in ...

since many people want to play solo without distribution and complaining about pve claiming system , I still don't understand why the dev team not consider just to put single player mode like ark and the option to host this server if you wants to play with a small group of people and get rid from the lag and having better experience and freedome.

it’s meant to be an mmo, played over 15x15 map , u want single player set up a small dedicated server on your pc 1grid then u can play your solo way

AFAIK, the water filling up over time was the bug, which was fixed in the latest PTR patches.. (Remember seeing something related to this, that they would no longer fill when in stasis)

Not sure they will patch this as it was a bug to begin with 😄

what how was it a big ? it allowed desert dwellers to actually grow crops and have water without digging

i wasn’t like it was infinaite i used to run out when making dyes or cooking

if it was a bug where was this stated ?

So before, someone could grief you from X distance away and now they have to get closer to grief you. Seems like it makes their life harder, not yours.

what ? they can build up to your walls so you can no longer build inside your walls what’s so hard to understand ,

do now  griefer places foundation up to wall u can now not even place a fucking box inside your own base

  12. u cannot  feed through walls anymore this was patched a while ago,

use pillars or fence for your taming pen walls the doorways make it next to impossible ,also raising your pen so u are underneath the elephants , rhinos , giraffes u can feed without getting hit have tamed multiple larger tames with a raised taming pen

I dont blame because i lost (i own a claim btw), but because the system is bad, i put my view here:

Problem is that in the landrush phase even bigger companys gone for the small island because initial gold cost or upkeep.

First all 15 ilsland where gone then 24 then 35. How many islands with >35 points are gone? 5?

    The system is bad.

The really good thing it doesnt even really matter. ALL u gain from claiming is taxes, ALPHAS, longer respawn time and a bigger resourceblock from foundations, LAWLESS is better anyway.

BTW: Upkeep is a joke, it is cheap af.

U got me wrong, i placed the flag, i give it up, gold for this flag is gone. For placing another flag (anotzher island) i need gold again, thats what i said.

BUT it is a problem that companys which stay on one island THINK 400 gold per day is not doable, therefore they go for a 150 gold/day island instead.

So this companys take one of the ~100 affordable (<30 Island Points) islands from the solo/duo.

people keep on about the gold cost it is less the more companys u have on your island

instead of say 20 gold per hour it becomes 20 gold per 2 hours

it is in island owners interest to want other company’s to settle .

insaybagain the cost is fine players need to get used to the new system

You and the other company wanted the same island. You lost, blame devs? Cmon man.

I agree with lowering upkeep cost tho, its a bit expensive now, especially bigger islands.

it’s isn’t  that bad might be hard at start but later when u have bigger boats better bears the gold hunt is easy can do thousand of gold in a weekend even solo one day out of the week for up keep isn’t bad

the upkeep wasn’t meant to be easy , u wanted an island u got one along with all it entails
