i do write code. and would be an easy fix perity check for online vs offline sleepers tag for 60 despawn. the thing is why there is so many sleepers. is cause they seem to be keeping ppl from logging in intentionally. they don't fix it they don't respond. sat here on the same pc with a friend the other night i couldn't connect he could connect just fine the same client. i am begging to think this was a scam to collect bankruptcy.

they dont even have to check for sleeping players.... When you log out your player goes to sleep so basically it already has an action defined for logout.... they just need to update the existing code to trigger a different action based on location..... I think rather than disappearing they should instantly kill players who log out in freeport so you have to respawn. They dont want us staying in freeports.... so this would be yet another mechanic that would make freeport even less hospitable. Since the new patch is going to force freeport to be the spawn points rather than lawless the problem will likely only get worse before better........

All that said i dont seem to suffer these lag issues others mention at any of the freeports i've been to. What freeports you guys visiting? lol

  2. yea i agree i think the approach they took is a huge step in the right direction (i'll admit i'm biased a bit because it's basically the same idea i posted a few days ago).... I dont think a wipe is needed nor do they need to remove claims. with this adjustment you can basically just contest them and those who have claimed a ton simply wont be able to retain them all. An added expiration timer would have been nice to assist in cleaning up those spam claims but I'm not going to make too many gripes as the latest patch notes really address a LOT of the current gripes with the game.

I hope the removal of sea claims in v10 doesn't remove those that intersect land...

I think this is the random ones you see out in the middle of the ocean normally right when you cross over borders into different servers. Those that intersect land wouldnt be a pointless claim.

Honestly i think patch v10 is a HUGE step in the right direction for the game. Not because it makes the overall game easier but it balances out several things that were just not right.

    3. They worked during freaking christmass to get this fixed so at least give them credit for that

Credit for what? Having to put what little effort they did to continue pulling in money from those early access sales for their days before Christmas launch? Sorry no pity/sympathy/credits earned from me. If they didn't wish to work holidays then they shouldn't have set a launch date days before the holiday. Perhaps they could have gotten the holiday focus behind them and not launched such a turdwagon of bugs and issues had they held off..... but to insist they deserve some sympathy for a poor decision and their willingness to do anything during their immediate post launch is just silly.

  5. I have a better solution to claims... rather than setting a limit just use the contest mechanism..... so you currently get a few days to deny a claim contest.... this timer is scaled down based on the number of overall claims. This is the same for individuals/solo players and as a company. As clans grow naturally they will need more space/satellite bases so based on their size their contest timer can be offset based on this but will never exceed the maximum timer that existed if everything was within a single claim.

I think this addresses a lot of the current issues with claim terrain because it makes it completely unmanageable for companies to claim beyond their size and actually hold it. They will have to be more strategic with their claims. It rewards companies for growing whilst not actually punishing the little guys.

Let's break this down with a few spit-balled numbers to add a little more clarity.....

Let's say a single claim contest takes 10 days. If the player/company has 2 claims then this timer would be reduced to 7 days.... 3 claims then reduced to 3 days. 4 claims then 1 day.... etc and beyond that it gets pretty minuscule. Now for the offset..... if a the "company" is 2-5 players and has 1 claim the contest time remains 10 days but if they have 2 claims then the reduction scales a little to something like 8.5 days. if balanced out the offset could be completely balanced to the point where companies can still own multiple claims and have no duration penalty but cannot own the entire map in their block and/or neighboring maps.
