Yes a flag claims a whole island. Place the flag on the island you want, put gold in it, ~20 mins or so later, it's yours. Press F1, place it, add gold, wait. After claiming you can adjust when your peace/combat timer is, but you can only adjust it once a week.

As for island points, it is based upon number of members in your company. With 6 members you should have plenty to claim a smaller island. The points are on the unclaimed island in the Atlas map. Smaller ones are usually about [37].

If the island is claimed, basically you can do the same thing to steal it. Press F1, place flag, add the gold, prepare for a fight.

    I get that, thanks.

The problem is that when we try to place the flag ir says we lack the points, and our island points is 0....we do not know how to earn or get them.

  2. I played when game was first released, played for a while, got bored and stopped playing for a month or two....now I got back, to see changes and new stuff but got surprised about claiming.

Can somebody explain how it goes? (wiki info seems outdated), we need island points and a bank to claim an island?

We are a very small company, just 6 members, and our Island points pool is still at 0, how do we get IPts? A flag claims the whole island? ( i know theres an upkeep)

    Thanks!

  3. I think I am just tired of people blocking claims....the mechanic does not help either...

In our island there is a company that is not playing anymore, now that the flags became claimable, we went there placed our flags to claim them and now we have another company that sets their players to stand in our claim to stop it....so its a stalemate, because they wont leave and so our claim cannot procede....they say that they can be there 24/7...and now the boredom war begins....the one that bores first and leaves will loose the claim and nothing to do about it....

bad mechanic or bad behaviour in this case?

  4. How easy is to claim bad judgement, poor playing and greed....

    1) Boat was not loaded, was nearly empty

    2) Wind was almost zero so no chance to zig zag or nothing

    3) one hit broke 1 sail, helm and inner decks

    4) we were not actively looking for trouble, just traveling home

Whales are huge, videos on YouTube will show just how evil they can be.

Sure, but a regular MOB not even alpha cannot hit you more than the kraken which is at this stage of the game the "boss" to beat....also there are several videos of the kraken fight and not even the baddest mob in the game 1-hits you.

Thats what I mean.....that should not happen, this should be challenging yes, but not like this.

You tried to talk me down with “think before posting”.

I did think and I stand on my opinion, I quit multiple amazing games because they catered to carebear changes - it kills games faster than broken content.

Right now it seems that everytime a player doesnt get survive or control content the way they want they go to the forums rather than actually try to find solutions. Our players tend to stick next to the border when traveling while wanting to avoid fighting.

    Oki, fair enough

But if you played so many games you should know that although is not a solution to have carebears mobs, it is not good to have broken content....thus posting for devs to know and check if can be balanced to be challenging instead of certain death or having to apply desperate tactics to get away....

thanks for your point of view in the matter, but I too have an opinion and think that this can be balanced to get a good strong content.

    😉

Broken mechanics require ridiculous survival tactics. I am giving you solutions for the current situation, I dont understand why you’re talking me down/talking shit to me - If you only want to hear people that are 100% on your side on this matter, taking this on the forums is likely not where you’re going to get that audience.

I also don’t think they are ridiculous in any way, they are just hard to deal with in specific circumpstances.

You were most likely overloaded, rather than throw your cargo, you decided to risk it all and you lost it. It’s the price you have to pay for that sort of situation. I would just say move on rather than ask to bastardize the content.

Nope, that is not the case, not even half weight...we had no wind to escape and that thing saw us half a cluster away....

I am not talking you down nor insulting you, just stating that if the mob is broken, a lone ranger suicide guy, does not solve the issue....thats is why I post here so that devs can cjeck this out.

  7. na guys, the aggro on those things is outrageous, they see you from miles away....and you suggest that 1 guy immolates by jumping into water with a bow? please.....think before posting....its broken a guy diverting attacks with a bow is not a good mechanic

  8. Whales are SOOO broken, 1 hit of a whale equals 1 sunk ship or at least almost...

Today we came across a whale, we were almost without wind so using the 30% speed that comes with no wind....but with that speed is impossible to escape...it was opur cargo ship, and with one hit it took 3 planks, broke our helm, 1 sail and almost all structures inside the ship.... 1 HIT!!!

Our ship was a brigantine and was at full health it CANNOT be possible for a whale to almost sunk the 2nd biggest ship in the game with just one hit.

    Please devs check this.

    Thanks!

You know that actually sounds kind of nice as a real life raft not a crafting exercise.

Yeah, what devs can do is add several item quality "looks" so depending which resourses you put in when you build, it will be the result for example :

    * stone, fiber and thatch = regular looking stone wall

    * stone, fiber, thatch and wood = stone wall with wood ornaments

    * stone, fiber, thatch, wood and metal = stone wall with wood ornaments and metal frame

etc etc....adding gems even for garments on the metal frame....

All this purely visual or maybe adding more stats or buffs "IF" player wants to put more mats on it.....and NOT by obligation.

So we're doing tin foil conspiracies now k.

Yeah, we were alerted by Mel Gibson, who saw this coming by a hidden message in a newspaper... XD

So much to fix and devs start "fixing" the things that were not broken.....super cool....next step, thatch walls and raft will need x2 gems and x2 oil to build....just because who would not want a raft with jewels in the pole and an oiled wood floor finishing touch so that our feet are not harmed by splinters? .....ahaha (face palm) -.-

Haven’t all these posts been doing nothing more than making assumptions? The poll had maybe 200 votes the other post had over 700 reply’s not all for reverting the changes... a lot of the reply’s were from the same people over and over again. I would venture a bet that most people complaining across the different communication platforms are the same.

Then if the upset people is really the minority posting several times.....you being the majority, go back to play calmly, build stone wall with metal, and organic paste....because if this goes this way much longer, you will need gems too to build the stone walls.

Let Us the minority keep doing our claims....since we are SOOO few it would not mind.... 😛

Ever crossed your minds that just because you’re loud doesn’t mean you make up the majority? Plenty of people like the recent changes, just because we don’t yell, scream, throw tantrums and insult the devs doesn’t mean we don’t have an opinion. Final note, calling names and acting like a child doesn’t go far in getting people to listen to you. You get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar lol.

Also without calling names and throwing tantrums, if you just use simple and pure logic....."Stone Wall"....where can you see metal in it? in a door, I would understand it for the hinges and lock, but we are not in a "construction based game" that needs metal for the reinfoced structure.....it is a survival MMO, and survival is knowing how to manage to get things done and survive, not to get a master degree in ingeniering and agree to things that are not logical....just to make things more complicated than should be.

Think about people who play solo, or people that live in islands without some resources...according to the devs there are only two ways out for them....(well 3 actually),

    1) forget to build stone...just live in thatch or wood base (maybe) and settle for that...if they dont like to sail haf the map to get resources

    2) leave the island and start from scratch somewhere else....(forced eviction)

    3) join a large company in order to survive or to make things that could have made alone but forced to do it in a group.

Either way, for devs that assured from the begining that this would be an absolutely unique and large game in which you could do what you want....they are limiting that "what you want" to "what THEY let you do"......false sense of freedom i guess....because adding materials that are not logical to an item craft does not increase immersion or get a better experience from playing just the opposite....

Hope the Devs do some adjustments but to make a few steps forward in the game and not 2 miles back as they are doing now.

Sound easy right. Problems come when 20 people get funneled into a narrow entrance with bazillions of animal at the otherside. On top if u get near the altar, you need some sort of key,

The key is for the powerstone, the fountain is just a "halo" of light near it....you just need to press E i guess inside it.
