Sometimes I get the feeling that users aren't submitting evidence that proves the claim, like timestamped videos showing the incidents occurring.  No Admin worthy of the title would act based on a complaint on a forum without proof.  If you can't prove it, it didn't happen.

Don't you think any Admin worthy of the title would be able to investigate the claim and make a decision based on the evidence?

I took a shit, and flushed it. It must not have happened because I can't point to the proof that it happened...

The problem with all the wolf numbers is because of the devs think everyone should be in giant groups. Sadly this is one of those game killers for anyone who is not in a big company and its going to cost them players!

I like to get your POV on things. So please help me understand why this is a game killer? I two man, and run solo often. I always keep fire arrows on me and burn those puppies when I come across them. Why is it hard for you to do the same thing? And is it extreme to say it's a game killer? I too hate wolves, snakes, lions, tigers, and alphas, but I work around them and kill what I can.

  3. I get what you are saying, but you're barking up the wrong tree... I'm in the same boat or sloop as you! For whatever reason, this was the easy/quick fix they implemented with a statement about refining the fix at a later point in time. In other words.. here is something to stop the bleeding (griefing)... we're going to fix our fix later.

With that said, something else most be going on. Something that we are not privy too. Why else would they not do it that way?

  4. There are less sob stories about ships being sunk with this change. For days on end a new person would post something about a ship sunk by griefers. It was almost every other thread. This was the fix they came up with. Those posts are gone, and now we have these complaints, which are fewer. And I'm pretty sure they have stated they are working on a "fix" and this is just a temp fix to the non stop complaints of griefing/sinking ships.

Cool! Here's my current design. 3 flamethrowers should be pretty solid DPS against most ships, right? I'm also using wooden roofs and ceilings as armor plating.

That's pretty bad ass! May have to do something with swivel guns now.

Whomever is attacking probably has no idea you're even offline and just sees a base. Dont like the outcome? Adjust.

Every game is made with adjustment in mind. Thought you could handle PVP and cant? Well good thing theres PVE. Tired of the same old Officials? You're given unofficial. Wanna ruin someones life but can't cause PVE forbids it? Head on over to PVP.

Yeah, agree with you... most people probably aren't thinking, "are they online? no, attack!" But wouldn't it be obvious that they are offline if they don't defend the attack? Granted, it is part of PVP, but at some point it has to be obvious they are not defending and may be offline.

Adjustment is a great point. It might be a little bit much to adjust to a new server, PVE, or other rule set to deal with one issue though. Maybe a middle ground, or adjustment within the PVP rule set might be better. Otherwise, people will be bouncing all over if they don't like an aspect of a game.

  7. A server wipe is coming... why rush it? How many weeks have we been playing? Also, if this game launches in 2 years, you're going to have a lot of heartaches with all the changes that don't happen when or how you want them too.  It's going to be okay! lol Just keep playing and having fun. If not, take a break.

  8. Let me pose this to you then... why do you believe they haven't just fixed the issue if there is no excuse? And if it's as simple as turning off weight damage to ships, why wouldn't they have done it yet? Somehow, I feel there is more going on here than just "turn off" or on something.

I want this fixed as badly as anyone. I've lost countless ships to this BS. But I certainly don't want a fix that creates more issues, or more griefing benefits... such as the add bonus of anyone salvaging a sunk ship. I get why salvaging is a part of game play, but this just fueled the sinking of ships and benefited the griefers.

  9. Maybe you were griefed so you would quit, and then they could take your land....

Honestly, I don't believe this exploit hasn't been patched because they don't want to, or don't care about it. But rather, they are not sure or able to code in a solution that works for PVE only. Just my guess of course.

People waited to play, throwing hissy fits about a few days later to release, and so they missed the land rush. It sucks but that's the way it is.

And I sailed through rubberbanding,  lag infested waters day 1 to claim the land I got for my company. So i earned it.

This makes me absolutely laugh out loud! I love "hissy fits" as a descriptor!

I'm not sure how you "earned it", because some of us logged in day one, created characters, and then the servers stopped responding for days. So you having to not compete against large amounts of the newly minted player base is what I guess you called "earned". Would it have been different if others weren't locked out? Maybe. I don't blame you for server issues. However, it may have changed the outcome and given you insight that others weren't lazy or late to the game and thus didn't have the same opportunity to "earn" a claim.

I'm not sure where I stand on the claim "fix" issue as of yet. I'm on lawless. We have plenty of resources, and even rain too. I can see both sides. I do agree with whoever said that people are sleeping on a claim and haven't logged in for days(I see they are removing people from Freeport and Lawless zones after 10 days of sleeping) keeping lands tied up. While this may not relieve the space/claim issue, it may help open up the lands and allow people to have land. Not sure what a good afk time frame would be... 20 days?
