I thought so, that's unfortunate. However, what I was trying to say was that it doesn't have to be exactly "Saps", even though the recipe says so.

Been looking but no luck, the closest thing i have is a desert island with sugar cane several servers north of me 😕

You are meant to travel the high seas, plunder and trade!!

Already did buddy, have been around 10-15 servers, and as soon as i get my base completed i will take my sloop and travel again hoarding back hunders of sap! 😄

But it is being a pain with constant wolf attack destroying the fur armor, i hope they balance things soon.

What I find weird is that furr and plate have the same armour.

I do too, also is absolutely stupid that plate armor insulates from heat, steel doesn't insulate well at all, plate should have tons of armor making you inmmune to small-medium animal bites, but still get damage from big beasts and weapons and have crap insulations. Fur helps with cold and blunt damage and make a new armor fo the desert, bedouin style.

  3. It doesn't make much sense that an armor that is designed to the cold part of the map can't be repaired with resources from those same zones. Or at least make it that using the pick in tundra trees it also gives sap AS IT SHOULD BE. Not to mention that with the amount of predators in tundra biome your armor won't last a couple of battles if you get hit.

Fur armor being made with sap is a joke I dunno why you can't just use the fur that wolves drop. Would make more sense.

Absolutely agree, also wolfs destroy a pristine armor in around 10 bites, a joke. 😭

Genius from devs side is a croc/wolf team combo. The wolf 3-hits you in land, the croc if you flee from the wolf into the ocean😜

In the current state this game is playable only for masochists and megatribes, but not for survivors and new players.

I feel the same, everytime I manage to improve a bit building something or crafting a new weapon and I actually enjoy the game fun is completely destroyed by a wolf pack.

  5. After traveling for days finally managed to find claimable land, got a small spot in tundra, unfortunately the place is a pain in the ass and not due to the harsh weather, wolfs keep spawning one after another like stupid SoD do in sea, if you go out to get resources you keep dying and getting you fur armor destroyed in no time which then you can't repair unless you travel to other servers since you can't get sap in tundra. Finally managed to build a base but now it seems impossible to maintain, the stupid wolfs keep aggroing, I spend more time shooting them in the face with my pistol crafting more ammo and repairing the damn pistol than actually playing, good lord fix them...

I was in desert and it seems stupidly overcrowded too, crocodiles lions wolfs LOL, this is game is even more annoying than ark...at least dinos there don't camp your base they wander much more. I have seen a crocodile camp a raft for hours while i was building my sloop, ridiculous.

They also do too much damage and nockback has no sense at all. I have already dug up several treasures and was easier to fight 6 soldiers of the damned than a single wolf...

They are expensive and eat a lot. I have a schooner (14 ai crew, but would need 17 to fill the cannon and sail slots) and will need to do 1 to 2 treasure map a day to pay them, also if i'm not wrong we have an event that give double gold, so you'll need to do at least 4 treasure maps, most of the treasures are unreachable, up some fucking mountain you need a full bag of climbing picks to access. Also their belly food meter seam to be very big, probably a few hours before they starve. Before a night of sleep i had like 4/5 stack of food, all gone in the morning, and this is a short night. The crate floating in the sea should contain at least 10 gold each instead of 2 or 3 since now you cannot find that much of them (they seam to be linked to damned spawn). Also like all ai they are retarded, use your whistle keybinds or it's a nightmare. Apparently you can use them as pets, give them gear and all (haven't tested this part), you can apparently send them gather. Apparently they can guard your shit as you can assign them to kill only ship, animal, enemy, on top you can put them aggressive, passive, fleeing..

I'll edit a sec to tell the dev they need to redo the shop to buy them, they need a way bigger area to spawn in or they bug out.

I just need 2 guys but still...if they are such a pain I would stay far from them until they balance everything.

Well, then be happy they follow into the water, here they lose agro as soon as starting the swimming animation and then they go to run away, walk peacfuly arround or go and kill something to heal back to full in 1 second. Screw them, soon gonna be able to make pistol ammo so maybe it gonna help but untill then, gods, living on tundra is unbelivably unfun bcs of just wolves but that's the only place where can find a claimable land still. Wish had some stupid slow snakes insteed of this.

I'm going to tundra now to find climable land too, build that pistol ASAP it oneshots giant snakes and you kill in two shots wolfs. It has saved my life several times.

Yeah.  And 400 gold will probably last you waaaay longer than any NPCs you hire.  Mine keep dying super quick.  If it's not a wolf dragging them overboard, it's a crocodile haha

OH MY GOD, so predators can kill them, then I won't get them I will get mad, everytime i log off wake up being killed by a stupid crocodile or wolf even being anchored at some distance from coast. 😭 Thank you guys.

We got all of ours from Ships of the Damned, the higher level the ships the higher level the crewmates are, got a few level 25ish from a level 20 iirc.     The price varies but it took about 5-10 gold to "hire" them when they were swimming in the wreckage about to drown (lol), and then each one had a price that varied from 1 gold every 30 minutes to 1 gold every hour.    One of our guys had the "Captain" skill tree and was able to make them cost less though.     You just place the gold in their inventory and it'll go down automatically.

You also need to feed them though they starve slowly, you can build a food larder (which while not as good as preserving bags and salt still makes food decay slower and auto feeds them).    Or you can put the food into their inventory directly.    Haven't tried putting coins in a food larder yet.

Note that when they run out of coins there's a red text saying you need to pay them within a timeframe, and if that expires they go hostile.    WHich can be hilarious as one goes hostile before the others, and the "for now loyal" ones all slaughter them.

Thank you! I think you can recruit them at freeports too. I got around 400 gold now but it took me quite a lot get it being alone, not sure if would be able to maintain 2 guys to man my sloop sails...

They got paid and eat while offline?

  10. They should reduce their aggro massively, also damage, and please remove knockback and damage while on ship, they can hit you from beneath your ships keel...

Aparently they changed silently wolf AI. They no longer are willing to follow into the water and also their chance to switch targets seems to have been raised by alot, hitting them 1-2 arrows... a horse is arround?, time to chase it, eat it and come back with full hp. Atleast don't need to eat and car about vitamins but can't leave the base aswell bcs shooting them causes them to just run away and full regen on nearby animals.

They still follow you, got killed couple of hours ago by a wolf while swimming. 😞

  11. Crocodiles are gamebreaking, they are faster than a ship in water amd they keep attacking it no matter what..wolves and lions are also a pain, they just jump to the ocean trying to sink your ship, total nonsense, they can hit you from under your ship and make you fall to the water...not to mention that a single wolf is more dangerous than a party of damned soldiers, ridiculous.

To allow an enjoyable experience i think spawns, aggro and damage should be lowered, with that amount of killing machines player interaction won't happen often, you would be more concerned aboug not being killed by a wild animal than by an hostile player in PVP, also in PVE people can use them to destroy your base or ship aggroing them and making them to get stuck in your things.

I understand this is also a survival game but if the intention is to make also an MMO having tons of ai harassing you is not good to make people more prone to play the game as it was advertised.

Wrong.  We anchored at a Freeport because there were no claims to be had, and the Ships of the Damned were killing everything.  This Brigantine almost decayed away in less than 1 day.  That is absurd, so don't blame absurd game mechanics on player ignorance.

There is more decay in freeport than in any lawless server to prevent it from overcrowding I almost lose a sloop.
