Melee fighters take more damage and deal less damage than ranged fighters. While ranged weapons cost ammo do melee fighters spend more resources on armor repairs. Melee weapon damage needs a buff to balance it with ranged.

I actually gained 3 levels from this patch, was 29 before and 32 after patch.

With my sloop can I simply close all sails and then will I move slowely backward when I press s for a while. Haven't tested this in a raft thought.

Only top 10 claimers are shown

First let me thank you for moving the game in the right direction and listening to the majority of players.
The neutral land idea is good and could be developed further, allow "citizens" to support their overlord. Supporters help defend flags and can reset the PVE 3 day cooldown on flags(as long as the overlord was recently online). The overlord can't see who supports him, he can only try to win the hearts and minds of his subjects.
Or an even more radical idea: The democratic company: This company has only neutral lands, every x/days does everyone vote on who will lead them in the next period.

When yields are higher and ships are cheaper should people play like many EVE players: Always have the resources/gold to replace your ship several times. Don't upgrade too fast.

Permanent 2x rates and reduced ship costs makes the game doable for normal players(those with a job and/or other responsibilities)
Neutral building on other claims could solve the land shortage issue(if many companies use it), especially on PVE have companies incentives to use this on some of their claims(those taxes could generate a lot of resource), with the x2 rates do "citizens" still get 1.6x rates more then before(max tax).
The freeport sloop could help new players reach father away land(who have more abandoned claims)
Well done devs

This actually IS the solution for lack of land. Companies are now encouraged to allow neutral building allow the landless to build on it. Those players will actually become civilians of those big companies. This could work if many companies allow neutral settlement.
One way to encourage big companies to have those "citizens" is allowing citizens to defend flags and reset the PVE 3 day cooldown(for the company of their overlord).

Lawless is currently a refuge for people who can't get claims, but if the upcoming changes to claims(people can build in other companies claims if they allow it) fix the lack of land then could lawless areas become claimable.

Can animals damage stone? How about alphas? They could damage stone in ark, but alphas are more frequent in this game.
-
I got my first decent claim after playing 50 hours, it was in tundra. Grids with bad climate far away from freeports have the biggest chance of containing claims you can steal.
-
I finally get a decent claim, it is in tundra but hostile animal spawn rates are oke and all basic resources are present. I better raise my fort more and make fur armor fast thought
-
1 claim /person and some type of public shipyard(so everybody doesn't need a claim near ocean)

The lawless regions are full of peoples buildings and shipyards(PVE server), they are clearly needed for now.
-
Yeah I haven't seen any statement from the devs about claims. A gigantic amount of player posts/steam review/twitter responses are about claims, yet is silence all we get.

Could you address the claim issue on PVE servers, many many players are unable to get a claim, they are basically unable to play the game.

They could only load one grid at a time and freeze the rest, somewhat like how you can move you character from the island to Ragnarok in ark but time won't progress on island(keeping all grids active would be too taxing for most PC's)

resource issue can be solved by added uninhabited islands: you can't claim or build on those and they have many resources.

This land claim stuff is just the tip of the iceberg, griefing and trolling is all to come.. There'll be something every other day that breaks the game for many.
What if governments thought like that: "Hey we can never completely eliminate crime, why should we fight it at all?"
They should do all they can to fight and reduce grieving even if they can never eliminate it.
Let players with multiply claims choice a primary claim, delete all the rest. Then only allow claiming for people with 0 claims, problem solved!

Are sea or amphibious creatures tamable: Those would be very useful in the current map
-
I have yet to see a tame, I suspect that most people simply don't have spare skill points for now.
Personally do I first want stone building parts before I consider taming, with the high amount of aggressive spawns is stone a must.

The southern island of E5 has 2 sap trees, the northern one has crystal

Any Chinese players know the answer?

It is insane in the low desert region of my claim, but in the temperate region are they reasonable(but all land is long claimed their)
So what did you do in Atlas today?
