BTW: does anyone know what the single player settings option does?

Currently have the biomes with the easiest climates also the most resources. I think that biomes with bad climates or many aggresive animals should have at least as many resources as the easier biomes.

The 2 most important allies to complete this quest are lag and luck. Lag slows down aggroing speed allowing you to simply run past those crocodiles before they aggro you.
In the cave can you go prone to move below the bats. But even then does it depend on luck. Keep trying until you are lucky and only do this quest at busy hours. Golden realms with a gigantic amount of ships are ideal, those ships buff your lag ally

Glad my base is already build. This will hurt PVP servers the most, people are oke with me coming to their island to farm sap(or iron) on PVE. But something is telling me that people are not that welcoming in PVP.

Just got rejuviated in C6 euroe PVE server sirens call

Various unofficial servers limit land claims. My current one has 1 claim/grid rule and they delete unused claims.
It is the same in ark pve. Official servers tolerate pillar spawn, but most unofficial ones don't.
-
Riding a bear is good to do the easier treasure maps.
-
Griefing and toxicity is far less on unofficial servers. Do any of that stuff on the PVE grids of most moderated servers and you are banned.
The server I currently play on even disabled aging. You won't have to do that horrible fountain quest on that server.

They should just have done what my new unofficial server has done: disable ageing until we have an acceptable system.
And having to play 36 hours continuously just to raise your offspring is NOT acceptable. I hope raising your offspring is not like raising bears.

Have played on official server until now but I have just joined an unofficial server, the ridiculous hard fountain is just unacceptable.
Imagine if after playing WoW for 1 month you got a debuff, a debuff you can only remove in the molten core raid instance. This is basically what the atlas devs did.
This is mechanic is not just somewhat unbalance but it is like a rabbit who must fight 10 rexes, 150 sabertooth cats and 10 Abrams tanks. That rabbit is the solo player.

I have dealt with everything which happened on officials but am now really considering moving to an unofficial server.
Imagine that after playing WoW for 1 month you had to activate a fountain inside the molten core raid instance, this is basically what the atlas devs did.

D12 but server is full

Isn't this actually a buff? +50% resistance for our tames?

Yeah great idea

Most people who can ride a horse can't tame one. Allow the sale of tames on those upcoming player vendors(mentioned in last livestream). We can then have dedicated tamers who sell their pets to people who just want to ride those pets.

1 hour ago, Archsenex said:4c) allow use of rented shipyards
Right now, you HAVE to have a land base for is to build your ship. It's a huge problem and the shipyard spam around islands is totally real. Instead, why not add a system where I can rent a shipyard for 2 hours? I'd build the materials ahead of time, lay down the skeleton, plop on the panels, and set sail. Right now, people plug up space for FOUR DAYS to build their ships. If lawless really is supposed to be more about people getting ready and moving on, put the NPC shipyards there. Have each island have 6 shipyards that people can rent for short bursts to build their ships, and get out.
I only use my shipyard 1% of the time, they should give us a save(griefing proof) way to rent our shipyard to others.
Like a menu were I can specify that people can rent my shipyard for 5 gold/day for the next 4 days.

Will this game ever have single player?
-
I believe the actual game concept is an ark/EVE hybrid. But because that is hard to market did they label it as a pirate game.
-
Maybe should they add alpha islands, all alphas will then spawn on those islands. Those alpha island have far more rare resoures then the normal islands, maybe even higher rates but surviving on them is insane. Ideal to challenge experienced companies while the casual players no longer have to deal with alphas.
-
I got 6 when I gained level 36
-
Lost my lvl 40 bear to an alpha wolf, really didn't stood a chance. In ark do you have ways to survive even after an alpha aggros you, but I can't think of anything I could have done to save my bear.
Maybe should they add alpha islands: tons of resources, the best treasures and maybe even boosted rates BUT these have many aggresive alpha creatures. The other islands won't have alphas anymore.

It is very annoying when taming and I don't want to use that option anyway

Go to q tundra grid far away from freeports and try to steal a claim in those lands. 20 fortitude and fur armor are a minimum in tundra regions, 30-40 fort is easier.
-
Even in the same biome there are big differences between predator spawns, near my current tundra base is the wolf spawn rate somewhat too high. But I have also visited tundra islands with ridiculous high wolf spawn rates. Maybe because my base is on a big island and the wolf swarm island was smaller.
Even on the same Island do you have regional differences: snakes, tigers and cows never spawn near my base, but I have seen them in other parts of my Island.
"Singleplayer Setting" on singleplayer

I would also like to know what they do exactly, I have the impression that they boosted harvest rate and tame rate. I also believe that the ratings you set are multiplied by the single player settings, like if you set taming at 2 will you get 2 times(the already increased) taming rate of the single player settings.
The way it works in Ark is know but I haven't found this info for Atlas. Ark values are below
