There's a couple of other options they could also pursue regarding preserving meats longer.

I wouldn't mind being able to use an upgraded metal feeding trough that is similar to the Ice Box but instead of producing ice it holds meats and preserves them longer and also provides feeding to nearby tames.

Like a Refrigerator Feeding Trough?

Make it cost Gems + Alloys x2 or something marginally expensive.

Would it possible to add Ice into the Feeding Trough to increase the spoiler timers on raw meats?

It would add more utility options for Ice and provide a middle between creating salted meats/fish and keeping it raw.
