  7. Hey all, Just lost another schooner tonight due to grief-sinking which got me thinking about ideas as to improve the current system. What do you guys think about for PvE, ships don't take damage when over-encumbered, they just can't move period and are at a dead stop. I think it's pretty silly that a ship can so easily be destroyed by a few extra kgs. This solves a few issues: 1. people can't all jump onto a ship and sink it through the weight difference 2. prevents people from deliberately sinking ships for wreck diving salvage 3. it would adhere to the expected PvE ruleset which is why people typically roll on PvE servers to begin with As for PvP servers: I think the damage should be severely nerfed to something in the realm of 1-50 damage per tick (depending on the weight being applied) OR vastly increase the time between ticks so it doesn't make a ship sinkable in a few minutes. 1. this allows people to have a reasonable amount of time to respond to threats and actually make use of ship and player battles I know people will counter this with the people on rafts that grief dry-docked ships from launching by blocking the path, but what about pushing another ship causes drift?

  9. I have access to 4 poweredge r510's with 128gb of ram each in a speedy datacenter for $400.00 - so here's what I'm thinking... Trying to determine if anyone is interested? BUTCHERS BAY (1X / RP-PVP / 5X5@50) Butchers Bay is a roleplay PVP server that is driven by RP. As a community we are trying to establish a co-operative and fun environment, and a place where players can return for many months (or possibly even years) to call home. Our admins are NOT players, and we will do our part to ensure that the player experience is immersive, fun, dynamic, and keeps the game fresh and fun to play. With this goal in mind, players also have some responsibility in helping create a fun and community driven environment. Although there are PVP elements on the server, we are not a PVP gankbox server. If you are interested in PVP and raiding others as the MAIN portion of your experience, then Butchers Bay may not be the right server for you. Saying that, Butchers Bay absolutely has PVP and raiding incorporated. However, it is very important that the role you or your company takes, promotes healthy PVP and plundering for the entire community. Server admins may make individual rulings in specific instances in-regards to RP and PVP rules. If your actions are consistently driving players away from the server, or you are damaging the environment the players are trying to create, then you will be asked to find somewhere else that fits your play style. When in doubt, ask yourself "Am I enriching the experience by playing here, or am I damaging the overall gameplay experience for other players?" If your answer is not clear, then take a step back. If you are about to unload two pistols into someone’s head – they had better have a good understanding of WHY you are about to do so. If you are about to send a company galleon to the bottom of the sea, those players need to have a good understanding of why all their work is about to be demolished. Again, this is a roleplay server, your RP will determine your characters PVP actions – never the other way around. · Wars amongst companies are allowed. · Pirating, plundering, pillaging and the other “thing” is allowed. · Control of shipping lanes is allowed. · Make sure the others that you are engaging, know absolutely for certain WHY they are being engaged. · If you are going to play a psychopathic killer with no MO, you had better be VERY RP convincing on this server. · Demolition and base razing (destroying entire compounds) are discouraged. If you like to build, then this will be a good home for you. We encourage companies to build small ports of call, towns and bases that are pirate and colonial themed for the period/theme of a pirate game. · 9x9 Borg cube bases are NOT allowed. · Flat roofed buildings are discouraged. · If it doesn’t look like it would work in real life (staircase leading to a box in the air with no foundations, or a single pillar holding up a 4x4 home) then it will probably be ripped down by the admins. Admins will be building a centralized Inn/Tavern, Arena and other points of interest for our players. It is about the players for us - and doing our best to support the community on the server - not ourselves! Butchers Bay is a long term home: We are a 1x progression server (exp/harvest) with a few days per month where harvest rates will be 2x. General rules that apply to all players and all areas of the server are: · Be respectful. NO racial or sexual harassing remarks or posts. Racism, Sexual Prejudice, Oppression based on age, gender, or sexual preference is not permitted. · All Admin rulings are final, in all instances. Although the rules exist to create boundaries of play within the server, the Admins reserve the right to make a case by case ruling, without setting precedent or establishing a permanent ruling. · Respect and follow the rules regarding no-raid, and no-pvp zones. · Do not attack Admins. Admins will not help a player, or company achieve any specific goal or action. Admins are present to facilitate gameplay and create a fun environment. · Admins reserve the right to Ban a player permanently. · Griefing is not permitted. Although no official definition of Griefing exists, it will be the Admin’s responsibility to rule on a case by case basis, whether actions are griefing in nature or not. Some Examples of griefing are: a) Camping a player base where they cannot play the game, due to constant death or destruction. b) Inciting or Name calling based on PVP c) Harassment in chat, global, local, discord, or guild. d) Name calling or attacks that are personal in nature e) Attempting in any way to block a player from playing the game f) Specifically stalking a player multiple times in an effort to kill them as often as possible Roleplay The roleplay element exists to add depth to the game and make the experience for the player more immersive. You can find the Admins easily by tagging them in discord. The in game global chat is used primarily for RP interactions. Roleplay is not required to play on the server. Although it is highly encouraged. From time to time, certain rewards are bestowed upon players who help create the best roleplay environment. This is an adult oriented server. Although an adult oriented server, this does not mean sexually explicit. There are potentially underage players on the server. It is not required to monitor your language, or refrain from sexually oriented jokes, but keep in mind that there are players who are not comfortable with such banter. Player Vs Player Butchers Bay is a relaxed PVP server. As such, there are rules in play to facilitate fun PVP, without ruining the overall experience. Strict adherence to these rules is required and like anything else on the server, Admins have the final ruling when it comes to disputes over these rules. Ground rules are: · You may only raid a base once per day. This is not a rolling 24 hours, but a timestamp. All raid restrictions reset the following day. Failure to follow this rule or attempting to find loopholes in the rule is subject to discipline. (This INCLUDES a raid at 10pm, and a raid at 12:01am.) · PVP is allowed, but Admins will not give a specific player advantage, nor will they aid one company or another in victory. Admins will step aside when PVP commences and not intervene. · Do Not Grief. Raiding Bases It is considered a Raid when a player, or company takes action against another player or companies base that causes damage to the structure and/or results in looting. When taking action against a base, it is raiding. In the eyes of the admins, there is no difference between "Stealing, Looting, and Raiding". If its not yours, and you took it from someone's structure or ship at any point, it's a Raid. General rules: · A general guideline on raids is that the level of destruction should be limited to what is required to gain access to the objective loot. Benches are accessible to all and do not need to be destroyed. Chests, when not locked, also do not need to be destroyed. We understand that the nature of explosives often creates collateral damage, but we ask players to make the attempt not to steamroll a base. The low harvest rates on this sever make constantly rebuilding a base a discouraging chore. · Structure damage times are 24/7. Offline raiding (raiding a building or structure when the owner is not logged in) is not permitted. You can only raid a company once per calendar day, with the server time dictating when a new calendar day begins. Once a raid has begun, the company being raided may not use logging out as a rule defense against the raid. · Raids, once initiated, are not repeatable. Once you begin a raid, you MAY NOT LEAVE and return to your base to resupply. (See the section on Raid Structures below.) Additionally, once you leave the raid, you may not return to "get the rest of the stuff". If you are killed during a raid, you must run directly back to the location of the raid in order to continue it. Plan ahead, bring what you need to raid, take what you can carry or need to take, and leave. Remember, once you have raided a company, you may not raid them again until the next calendar day. · Exploits will not be tolerated. Exploiting is the use of any unforeseen and unintended bug or mechanic in the game to gain an advantage. · All bases/outposts must be capable of being raided. Building In order to survive, build, and dominate, a player must build a base. The building dynamic of this game leaves a lot of room for interpretation. There is not dedicated definition of what constitutes a base vs an outpost. Each player or company is allowed one base and one outpost. General definitions of each are: Base · Capable of full production of all materials in the game. This is the “home base” of a player or company. Bases that span multiple peaks of mountains, or segregate a section of the map from other players are not allowed · Considered the “home” of the company. · Base sizes are limited to an 80x80 foundation block footprint. This does not mean your base must be one continuous structure. You may have walls with structures within, but the overall map footprint of your base may not exceed 80x80. If the Admins rule that your base is over the size limit, you “may” be asked to reduce its size. Failure to do so “may” be cause for base deletion. · Base height should be kept within reasonable limits. Skyscraper towers are not permitted. Outpost · Each company, or individual member (if not in a company) may only have two outposts · Illegal outposts are subject to deletion without warning · Outposts are considered a wayward location for a company to regroup, gather resources, and feed the main base with supplies. · May be no more than 8 blocks high (not including roof tiles). · Outposts may only have a foundation block footprint that is 20x20 blocks. Anything larger is ruled as a base and is subject to deletion Additionally, ANY container, workbench, etc. that is NOT located within your outpost, or the footprint of your base or outpost is not permitted. These containers and benches are under footprint rules. They are considered as part of the claim footprint. Raid Structures Temporary raid structures may be built in close proximity to the target base or outpost and may not exceed 6x6 footprint. During the raid, this is permitted as a staging point for attackers. Once the raid is over, these MUST be taken down immediately. They are not permitted to be left after the raid. Raid outposts are not protected by the "Raid" Rules. When constructing a raid outpost, be prepared to remove it immediately, have a plan. Raid structures may only be constructed of T2 materials and below. Other building rules · Do not build walls that prevent player movement from one area of the map to the other. Exterior walls that encompass a base are permitted, but no preventing access to entire areas of an island. With the addition of the climbing mechanic, it is almost impossible to deny access to an entire region of the map with a structure that falls within the building dimension rules. Players reporting such violations must be able to demonstrate that they can't physically access a region of the map because of the structure. Increased difficulty of access does not equal prevention of access. · If an Admin structure is labeled "No Raiding, Admin", the it is completely off limits to players. No raiding of any kind, in any fashion is permitted. · Certain Admin Events will necessitate a temporary change in settings. These may be: Increases EXP gain, increasing/decreasing spoil rate, increasing night time duration, etc. Normal settings will always be restored to default once the event is over.

Les pollutions et joueur toxique seront aussi nettoyé du serveur :) Un niveau max a 2k et créatures 2k Faim et soif plus longue et un rate a environ X10 a la main. A bientôt moussaillons !
  12. Imagine, you played a lot, with your friend on the PVE server and have a big galion. You see another company, and they consent to have a boat battle in the see, it could be amazing, the safety of not getting killed by shitty player and enjoying fight with both consent of team ? It could be amazing and not ruining player experience

  14. I have been to around 30 or 40 different suggestion threads all with similar ideas to this but this was something I came up with after reading them all. The Idea Its a pirates life for me. Gold a resource right now that only has use in getting crew, Decorative items, and a few other small things. We are pirates everything should be about gold. Add Trading stalls or even dare I say an Market in freeports that people can offload resources or even animals to that other people can buy for gold. Freeports would take say 5% as their fee but the rest goes to the seller. Freeports become more used in the long run but at the same time leave the ship decay the same so people can't just stick around in them. Freeports also get their own defense fleet that guards out from the zone. The Freeport zone might have galleons while 1 zone over might just have brigs. These will attack people that are attacking others. You can sink these defense fleets and salvage them but doing so gives a reputation decrease with that freeport. When you go below a reputation limit with that freeport the ships of that freeport will actively attack you if you enter their territory. This will limit ship pvp in areas close to freeports between 2 factions that want to be liked by that freeport while also allowing those people that don't care to actively pirate the area. Claims gain an upkeep cost. This comes in the form of gold. The company builds a "Bank" Building this can be included in the tax building if you want. You can only have 1 bank per company and this bank handles the taxes for all your claims. This basically charges companies a cost to keep their claims going. To start its fairly cheap at up to 10 to 15 claims free but once you go over those 10 to 15 claims it starts costing money at like 1 or 2g per hour per claim. Balancing can be done this is just a rough number thrown out. This would mean that these companies that want to claim 500 to 1000 claims worth of islands would have to spend alot of gold to keep it up. as when you have 500 its just 500g per hour to keep all your claims. You wouldn't instantly lose all your claims of coarse if you can not keep it up you would instead be given a 8 hour window to restock your gold before all your claims fall off or you start to lose claims further away from the bank slowly at say 1 every 5 to 10 minutes untill your down to the ten to fifteen closest to the bank. If you have a big enough crew to go out and farm gold you can keep it up for larger claims and longer periods of time. This can also be done with the above trading. People will pay for your metal/animals and you get money to upkeep your claims. Also allow companies to build on your claim but they have to pay a gold tax to you on top of the resource tax from the bank. This can be set from 1 to 5 gold an hour by placing a Rental Claim Flag. This acts sort of like a claim flag but does not claim the territory fully just sets a section as rented territory that they are allowed to build on with no decay timer. Gold is charged to a resource box kept on the claim. Add new craftable Docks. Docks work by placing them down and allowing ships to sail up toward them and allowing someone on ship or the dock when you get in range to interact and select dock. This will pull the boat in and dock the ship. While the ship is docked resources in the dock will slowly repair the ship at a discounted cost for what it costs to repair the ship at a rate of around 400 to 500 damage an hour. The docks can have Ceilings and walls attached to them allowing large sprawling complex docks to be built. There might be different size of docks as well cheap "Thatch" ones will allow Dingys, Rafts, and Sloops to dock at them while larger Wood ones allow Sloops Schooners and Brigs to dock at them. The largest the Stone Dock will allow Schooners, Brigs and Galleons to dock at them. Trader Fleets. Trader fleets work by setting up random spawns of 1 to 4 ships that spawn at a freeport and sail to another freeport. These ships can range in size from sloops to galleons with a full crew and full guns. These fleets carry resources from freeport to freeport as well as blueprints, Tools, and weapons. The smaller ships like the sloops or if you want Schooners carry smaller amounts of resources and lower tier blueprints and gear while the larger ships hold more and have better loot. You can loot these ships in 2 seperate ways. You can either Sink the ships and use a Diving Harness to salvage the ships offf the ocean floor or you can Board the ships. If you board the ships you do not get cannons shot at your ship but instead you have to deal with AI crew on the boats that will engage you in combat. They can be outfitted with anything you can equip yourself and have the gear drop. You can kill a Trader in full Plate with a mace and loot it to get a chance at his armor or you can kill a guy in cloth with a pistol and take that. You have to go below kill the crew and this allows you to claim the loot as well as place a claim on the boat to take the boat for yourself This doesn't take as long as a player owned ship 20 minutes for a sloop up to 3 hours for a galleon. While this might be easy for a smaller ship the larger ships brig and galleon have higher and higher level crew outfitted with better gear. Sloop has a full crew of lvl 20 AIs with common armor and weapons while a galleon would have a full crew outfitted in mythic armor and weapons at level 51. Doing this in a freeport area would cause the local fleet to come and attempt to stop you. More to be added as I read more suggestions. Reserved for more suggestions.

  17. Atlas, Advertised as an EvE Competitor - The opportunities are endless... Partially True, Mainly false... Therre are too many restrictions and not enough choices, so without critiscing further, this I think would make the game alot better. Ship Taking: This should be immediate upon slaughter of the crew and removal of the bed, Realistically - Your not ggoing to wait around for 2 days, for the relatives of the crews to turn up and try and take it back are you? If Anchored then, a 2 hour time window depending on the ship - This makes it easier for smaller groups to turn to piracy too Spawning: Should be allowed within any base, regardless of if it is on a claimed territory or not - Why allow to build bases, if we cant even spawn there? Companies: Should have a banking option, ofcourrse the bank can be stored anywherre you like, the player builds it, and its free to be robbed by anyone - This makes security a thing, and a job for those looking for gold from other players. A structured tier system, with abit more imagination other than "Admin" - This is a pirate game, not a computer hacking game.... (Slightly annoyed at the creativity in the game, but lack of in the menu department) Civilisations and colonies: Along the same idea as another on this forum, Territorries should be limited to one island per company, further territorries can be purchased, stolen etc - But it has to be earnt, and not a thing of stealing it when people are offline, Good idea, doesn't work because of the no lifers.... - Allow territories not to be captured unless thhe company admin is on, and remove the log-off/quit icon once a territory claim has been started - This forces people to actually fight for what they have and incorporates a sense of achievement for the victors, again once won, hand over is immediate. I shall leave it here for now - Please share ideas, the possibilities are endless - Yet currently restricted, very much so, uunless you want a third person age of empires Pirate edition.....

  23. Hello everyone, here is a wrap up of everything i found out "can" (but shouldnt be) done in PvE if you want to ruid others day... Know more ? Feel free to add it to the list... 1) Overweighting Rafts / Ships. - Peoples just farm bunch of wood, or stone or whatever is heavy. then stack it into anything that can be open on ship/raft, like campfire, mortar, smithy etc.... - Or overweight on player at maximum, then log off, other player carries him onto enemy ship. and just wait... ship will go down soon, free to salvage. Defense - lock every ship in gates, or block access to them in some way... 2) Luring tornado to sink ships close to beach. - Place raft few yards away from enemy ship into sea, everytime there is rain just afk on raft... sooner or later desired ship will sink. 3) Luring ship of the Damned to sink enemy ships. - you can hit it from raft, or even hatchet it its close enough, then hide under enemy ship and wait.. Free loot INC. 4) Raiding base. - using wild animals to destroy enemy doors, walls whatever.. - if there isnt roof, you can jump in with glider, or use dead animal to climb them and jump over. if there isnt way back, just throw stuff away through any window or roof and let your ally pick it up. 5) Killing sleeping players. - Any animal will do, just kite over. Elephants are especially safe for that, walls wont stop them. 6) Stealing territory / Claiming everything. - full endurance build, place flag. go afk.... you will sooner or later steal it. or just waste time for your oponent... really annoying especially with bugged protection time. One cant even sail withotu worrying about your whole base...
