  1. One issue ever present in Atlas is "Megas" and the lack of options for small groups outside of those mega power structures. I have a suggestion for this I'd like to pose to the community with a TLDR at the bottom The Background For those unfamiliar, mega companies or megas, are very large groups that right now dominate Atlas. I've personally experienced one group being so large that they split into 3-5+ Companies that ally each other. This is out of necessity. Defending an island is no small task. Making it so that you can hold that territory, even against a small group is difficult let alone being attacked by a large company or group of companies. This time and capital commitment is not my preferred game style. There are those of us that wish to play a smaller, more water based game that doesn't involve base building or land holding. As of now this type of play is only supported if you can find a mega to allow you to park in their already defended harbor. This causes more lag for them and many harbors have to be "opened and closed" to stop suicide ships from running them. This makes getting your ship in an out of this lag fest a hassle. Also, why would a large company care to deal with that hassle? It also eats up an alliance slot. These large mega alliances have capped out alliance slots as it is and a small privateer alliance just frankly isn't worth their time or slot. Many of the large companies this season have even given up on having any "renter" companies on their land for the same reasons. The Vision What I dream of for this game is many small groups all vying for resources on the water. Squabbling over a ghost ship loot, ship wreck or other npc content with loot to fight over. Harassing harbors and intercepting cargo ships. I'd like to see the ability for 2-10 man groups that want to play together not be forced into the landholding grind. The Path So how could this be implemented in a way fair to both groups? Holding land is a PITA so it needs to be valuable right? Small companies need to have the ability to exist with out big daddy alliance/company there to protect them. I think I have a good solution. The island holders need a buff. There should be a substantial amount of resources that each held island gathers passively and puts into the flag. The amount should be based on the point count of the island and how long the island is held. Islands in would automatically produce the items available on that island. If one island has iron while another one has tin the resources gathered in that island's flag would be different. This would go for each type of resource. Now one company using its points to hold one grid might not make sense. Instead a mega alliance/company might spread out and trade resources between the grids. This is great for everyone. Large companies will create content for everyone just by existing (moving resources between islands, moving ships around to defend islands, etc) while having a benefit for investing all the time and resources into holding and defending. So that sorts the island holders right? What about the privateers who want to sail around, drink rum and yarrrrrrr to our little black heart's content? Well I have a solution to that too. Add a function in Freeports for purchasing a slip. Have it scale with the size of the ship so that a brigantine costs more than a sloop. Nothing concrete but do 36hrs, Weekly and Monthly slip rentals. Lets say it costs 1,000 gold per week to store a sloop and 10k per week to store brig; something like that. I'd love to see this be an instance where you can actually teleport into it and walk around your ship and access the items. There shouldn't be an unlimited amount of ships stored either. I'd say no more than 2 ships per company or player. When you join a company all your ships must be undocked and all slip rentals forefit. Now you can build a ship and log off without waking up to a spawn screen, hop on with a couple buddies and create content for other players. The TLDR Resource gain to islands held by players that scales based on the time an island is held and island points it costs. Add a system for renting slips for small companies to be able to pay gold and store a ship safely while logged off.

Au programme de cette nouvelle version, nous trouverons un nouveau gameplay beaucoup plus axés sur le PvP de part une zone géographique bien plus vaste et bien plus propice au combat joueur contre joueur, favorisant avant tout le combat naval. Actuellement grâce à mon équipe je vais pouvoir lancer un petit serveur Atlas en 9 grilles mais pour ce faire je suis à la recherche d'administrateur bénévole pour celui-ci.   9. I'm not sure if you have read these suggestions or not? Remove Combat timers- along with that change make it so that a company must hold an island for 5 days before being able to war. Once they can war, they can drop a war deck on anyone where the defender gets to choose which of that companies(attackers) islands will be vaunerable for the duration of the war. War ends after 24 hrs or when one island is taken. Increase anquored ship plank resistance to at least 1000%, while decreasing structure resistance on the ship by 75%. This would make it so that they can sink your ship while your offline, but it will be wasteful, and they can at least loot it without sinking it. Small personal non connected Freeport bank- an npc at freeports that will hold 20 slots of anything for you, so that smaller companies can do buissiness with larger companies. Small guys need that threat of a tiny amount of unraidable loot, so that other that putting it at the bottom of the ocean. They can steal nice things, and trade them instead of word spreading among bigger companies that they need to be kicked from the game, and that your kill on sight. Remove building on the bottom of the ocean. At least make it so that you cant build outside of claims and lawless. It makes it too easy for a company to hide raid weapons in your server, and they can just sail a sloop from the Freeport over to attack your land each and every combat timer These are honest suggestions that fit in perfectly with other things already implemented in the game. It makes the game better for large companies and small ones. These dont have to be these exact changes, but does no one else see, that the way this game is designed, only the biggest group is meta. Which is why only one pvp group will exists soon, unless devs do something. Red is dead= one day theres no red I'm getting tired of this, my voice has almost gone out.

  12. Looking to join an RP server here on ATLAS. I've previously roleplayed on ARK and Conan Exiles, and also done a bit of tabletop RPGs. So far I'm liking the gameplay of the game and would like to try how it is to RP on here. When it comes to rates, I would prefer them to be decently close to vanilla as I don't want it to be too easy to progress through the game. Thank you for your time!
  13. I have been playing the game now for 100 hours or so. I am level 80 and have pretty much-unlocked everything needed/wanted to further progress. My issue is the prebuilt buildings that are in ports/in-game. Why aren't we allowed to have the same size pillar or just in general items used to build those buildings? I mean the current wooden/stone pillar is a joke, I don't even want to use them as supports. The game is so awesome and there is so much to do even if you are alone, but not being able to build certain items that are clearly used by you in your videos/posts is damaging to those of us who love that aspect of the game. Here is an example of pillars that are in your builds but not available to us. Another great example would be little things like the ledge over the wall between the pillars. That little ledge is not available to us, Why? I have tried to recreate it and no matter what I do it does not work. The hanging bit of a roof over the door? Even the windows, there aren't double windows, you can place an entrance for the door but why can't we place two window latches. It will make it look very similar. Please add more building parts, stone and wooden!

  16. I'm Black. I mod and I also run servers. I recently purchased a server that I run (not rented) and am offering a permanent home for players and not some fly by night place that will shut down when the rent comes due. I am currently running a 4x4 server. The center 4 grids are PvP lite and the outer grids are all PvE. There are plenty of islands of all climates to build on and multiple islands of the favs. I am looking to build up our playerbase and offering a place to call home to casual folks. We currently have around 6-9 who are frequent and another 12 that are infrequent. We welcome smaller groups or solo and there are no time constraints or minimal days to log in. If you play once a month or every weekend or every damn day you are welcome. With enough people we will run weekend events like ship battles or boss team-ups and even cave runs. Our rates are made for working folks so taming does not take super long and resource gathering is tweaked so it does not take days to craft a galleon. We welcome open market sharing or just stick to your own tribe and do your own thing. My server is very stable and our Discord notifies everyone when the server is coming down and when it comes back up 24 hours a day. I also run Ark Servers (Valguero and Ragnarok and can add more if interested). I also run Conan, PixArk Outlaws of the Old West and anything else we all fancy with room to grow.   18. This is a re-post, due to original poster being lost at sea. We are The Friendly Server, already hosting a vibrant and (forgive the pun) friendly Ark community across 7 Ark maps. In January this year, our tireless leader launched The Friendly Server for Atlas and our 2 communities live side by side in discord which now boasts a healthy 800+ members. The bulk of this of-course is Ark players, so never fear, our Atlas server has plenty of space available for new players and builders to setup their fortresses or seaside towns. We are running on 2 dedicated, high spec servers, free from rubberbanding or lagg. The servers are based in the UK but we have players from allover the world joining us. As mentioned, it's a 5x6 map home to more than 100 islands. 5 grids are reserved for all 9 powerstone islands and 9 trenches whilst a 6th grid is reserved for the Kraken. We also have 1 pvp grid and another grid for hosting server events/games. The remaining 22 grids are for building and player bases with a balanced mix of all the biomes. We are a pve server and an entirely a pve community, but since we all get a kick out of blowing each other up, we've added a pvp grid for fun. Easily avoided and clearly marked Both in Ark and Atlas we do not support a "pay to win" environment and we keep our boosted rates at a sensible level to ensure that the intended game mechanics are still relevant but also boosted enough to take away the grind found on official servers.   20. Sorry for the click bait title I was thinking about something I find very interesting let me explain my idea. 1. Get rid of explosive barrels like they are now 2. Gunpowder can no longer be placed in any container or storage we currently have Instead, implement another barrel that works more like the water barrel but is filled with gunpowder instead. This barrel gets heavier the more gunpowder you fill in there. It is the only place where you can put gunpowder after you take it out from mortar & pestle. This barrel can only be carried by hand (like a penguin) and not placed in any inventory if it is filled with any amount of gunpowder. This barrel is always explosive and doesn't have to be activated so you can shoot it with any gun to let it explode. This barrel does damage based on the amount of gunpowder inside. This barrel is necessary for cannons. It as important as the ammo box container because you will need gunpowder AND cannon balls to operate a cannon. Gunpowder in this barrel spoils really fast if the barrel comes into contact with rain or with water in general. Gunpowder wouldn't be necessary to craft cannonballs but to craft other stuff that need gunpowder there must be a barrel in close range to the smithy for example. So why this change? It would make ship battles much more interesting because you need to design your ship in a way that the gunpowder doesn't get blown up too fast. It makes ship management more interesting because you need another resource. It is a high risk, high reward object that you can use to attack other ships and structures but it is very fragile of course. So if you can manage to get a full barrel dry and safe onto another ship. You deserve to make huge damage. You would need to think about the location where you store gunpowder inside your base and ship. It gives the player the opportunity to make meaningful decisions. Both for the player owning the barrels and for the player who is attacking. And to me it sounds like a nice challenge to play with these things. I know I posted a less formulated version of this in suggestions but I feel like the suggestion section is cluttered with months old up-voted threads nobody needs anymore. So here we go!

  24. Hi devs. Just a quick one on the current state of raiding. Its too easy to raid anything at ground level atm. Using a bear/ horse with a cannon snapped to a cart it is possible to outrange npc puckles/ ballistas etc without any fear of being hit. Can you please have someone look at this and possibly decrease the range so that npc seated puckles/ ballistas etc on land have more range than the cannon carts. I can see why so many people leave the game after their "defended" base is easily raided. Id like raiding to be alot harder than ship to ship PVP. Players invest alot of time into defending their bases and tbh i can raid a whole island depending on the size quite easilly atm in the combat phase despite other players putting up towers and defences and being online to attempt to defend. Full disclosure i am from a big company but i would like to see smaller companies feel like they can still defend their only base on a fair playing field.

June 17, 2019 Dear Friends and Fellow Texians, Many things have happened since last we reported our adventures in F10 with the loss of our fleet and the sacking of our island by the Wendigoans and Jazz Cabbage Heads. A short run up to speed is in order: We moved back to our reserve outpost, which we affectionately call "Chuck's Island." Soon after, we began to be contacted by several individuals and companies looking to show us their support and offering their aid to get ourselves reestablished. To all those who made offers of land, ships and gold, we are eternally grateful and humbly honored to receive so many well wishes from so many adventurers and like-minded Freedom Lovers. We hope to continue to serve a worthy example to all those who follow our stories of (mis)fortune! Some of our newest friends near Isla de Chucka sought to honor us with volunteering a southern island in grid E9 for our new homestead. All we had to do was assist with taking the island and lay claim to it. This event was briefly touched on in comments HERE. We did lay siege to the island and after a long night, we raised the Texas flag over a new home and christened the settlement Port Aransas. After such adventures, we were contacted by a lone individual who bid us not disclose his name for he was of a shadowy and reclusive nature. Myself not being very openly trusting, I dared not take all this message-bringer's words on face value, but we discussed the recent events in secret and in good faith. This individual asked my opinion of coming and laying claim to an island in E9 with an offer to lend us aide in seeking vengeance against our recent assailants. The opportunity was truly too great to pass up but I was extremely cautious. I offered the suggestion that this small band of turncloaks come into the area under a neutral flag and make friends on their own accord and actions...leaving their intent and identities to go unknown except for we Texians. So it came to pass that the Red River Trading Company came to E9 and laid claim to one of the largest islands in the grid. The Red River group made true their intent to render us aide, both in coin and materials, not to mention such good advice as to aid in our preparations for more visits from the likes of Wendigo. It was also soon discovered by all those in the grid that the island of Port Aransas was but a small outpost -- our true base in the system was on the Red River Trading Company's island between Red River to the north and our new neighbors, Dark Vanguard, on the southern point of the island. This island was our primary reserve island....Chuck's Island, we called it. And even though we had been there from the second founding, we yet appeared quite small and insignificant even to Dark Vanguard, who regarded us with less than favorable opinion. Squabbles over resources and defense structures sprang up almost immediately when Dark Vanguard moved in. To the displeasure of the E9 alliance, Texas and Dark Vanguard traded as much powder, shot and blood as we did wood, stone and metal...in fact most of our trades were exchanged at high muzzle velocity no matter what resource was being shared. During this time, another fellow Texican arrived from a far-off grid. He sailed from a far polar region with but one purpose -- help support his fellow Texians in regaining their Honor. He took up harbor in Port Aransas and began making his own preparations for an extended stay -- erecting his own outpost on the north side of the island and joining in our mutual story telling and rum drinking. We also sailed a couple of scouting sloops to islands far and wide to investigate offers of lands and riches. We intend to make some use of those opportunities in good time once we get our current settlement in order. But things were about to change....little did we know that a Wendigo fleet was under sail and headed our way.... ...to be continued...
