  1. Hello! I think my program is finally ready for public consumption. Thank you for waiting! Its still not even close to perfect and probably has a few bugs. Let's just call it an alpha release for now. Original video: Autoswitching feature: As a refresher this is the program that will dynamically help you open and close servers on the fly so you can play privately on the full official map, with just average hardware. If you can run at least 1 server, this will work, allowing people to even run it on the same computer they are playing on. Main bullet point features: * easily update the ports and ip address across all 225 grids on your map. No more needing to tediously update everything individually on the ServerGridEdior. * Automatically generate all 225 .bat files to start each of the servers * Open and close the server you are on plus the 4 surrounding you (automatically even), any 4 individual servers on the map, or a combination of the two, control up to 9 servers at a time. If your computer can handle more than 1 server, even better! If it can handle 5 grids the program will even track your location and dynamically open all the grids around you so you won't even have to look at the program while playing! A bunch has been added since I lasted showed off the program. Now I include steamcmd and a one click sever setup button as well as an update server function. I also added a redis server on and off switch, so it really now is a one stop shop for nearly everything. It even saves all your settings/locations on close so you don't have to remember anything. The only extra thing you'll need is the servergrideditor from grapeshot. I also wrote out an insanely indepth instruction list, included in the download to hopefully walk anyone, no matter what comfort level, through setting everything up. My apologies, apparently Windows doesn't like the website I setup to download and is blocking everything, so I have to use something stupid like dropbox... Link will also be in the discord server if this stops working. v1.5.4 changelog: Fix for Autosaving on exit not functioning properly. I won't say this is 100% working, but it's the most I will be able to do on my side given the program doesn't actually touch the servers, it's still all dependent on Atlas' autosaving on exit code firing off properly, which can be hit or miss, but in my preliminary tests, I was 5 for 5 on not having a slight rollback on exit and reload of entire server like it was happening before. Rollback may still happen on server updates because it seems for some reason the server is programmed to automatically do that? Fix for slight desync on individual grids, this goes hand in hand on the autosaving not functioning at 100% when switching servers, which may have caused desync, which in turn causes problems reconnecting, problems with the map not updating ship locations, problems with characters not loading. Fix for grids not shutting down on switch or on exit because another square has the server loaded up even though it was not turned on.   2. Lost Haven 9x9 Map/Boosted is the name of the server. We are a friendly community welcoming new and old players. It's a 9x9 map, 81 grids total. Grids A thru F (54) are PVE and grids G thru I (27) are PVP. Very boosted harvesting rates and taming/breeding. Mods currently running are: Beastmaster, Ecos Decor Cont., Figuireheads & Ship Essentials, Custom Item Stacks (lowers weight of resources as well). I'm hosting all of the servers on a private server racks located in my house so no fear the server will be shut down for not keeping up with a rental. Ping is very low and I don't believe in wipes.   4. Has anyone had people join their company just so they have enough company points to get an island? if so, what happens if that person leaves the company? Do you lose the island? not willing to risk getting insided(pvp mentality) so they would need to leVe after the fact. So, let me know if you have an idea.

The server setup is made by the community and not the admins. The community chooses the server rates, grid layout and so on. The community vote for what they want to see on the server.   7. Zero metal spawns and only small rock spawns light on resources compared to the other islands. Also as of a week or so ago treasure maps on this island are spawning inside a rock cliff and cant dig them up. Undead spawn and run out of the rock but it's to far inside to dig.
  8. So my buddy was sailing his sloop out to sea, at a decent clip enjoying his new found treasure... when bang, out of nowhere his ship begins to sink... What sunk it? A wall someone had built just below the waters surface. So apparently all the bone ship frames weren't enough to caution my friend, but hopefully others will be warned and stay away from the under water wall. Anyone else experience this type of "hidden" barrier?

  10. Hello i got killed by someone today and right after that, after choosing another server (grid) i'm just getting this error : see screenshot I suspect that my character is bugged since i can join NA PVE and EU PVP server. Anyone can help me out?
  11. I have looked all over the internet and haven't found a solution yet. Everyone either says "enter this text into the server file" (it's already there..) or 'oh i figured it out, did something dumb' (ok but..what?!) I have followed several tutorials and tried 3 different server management tools (Atlas Server Control, Steam CMD, Atlas Server Controller) and every single one errors on server start up in the same way. I have no idea what I'm not doing, I followed the guides to the dot. I have port forwarded, I run Redis before starting the servers.   12. I thought that was the original idea from the devs way back but they haven't bothered to implement it yet. Until such time I wish they would nerf the aging process. Before you know it, you're old and you have penalties, so then you have to go to the fountain of youth. I still haven't bothered to go there nor do I know where it is.
  13. Honestly it's garbage that people have had to wait this long for these bugs to be fixed. I bought Atlas and Ark when they were released and still haven't got my moneys worth out of Atlas. Ark is good to go mostly so why haven't the developers put in the effort needed for Atlas? Just.my opinion.
  14. I play single player xbox one. The only way to progress is with cheats. I use God, infinitestats, ghost and fly. There's an island E3 Brimingcona Haven (on my game), and it held the last power stone I need. As a previous character I had enormous trouble with crashes but eventually killed the Dragon and got the stone. Later, I noticed maps didn't work any more, not sure why. Picked bottles no maps and the ones I already had showed Min Gold as 0. At the locations, no beam, no damned, no treasure. Kinda ruins the game. Eventually, I created a new character and kept a close eye on maps. First approach to E3 in Galleon crashed enough for me to give up. Plan to return in Schooner. Did this. Still crashed. Constant, frequent, returns to menu, to save -worked long enough to place a bed but my schooner disappeared, lost forever, including crew. Crashing continued until I observed the LARGE QUANTITY of CREATURES on this island. I used cheat destroyallenemies, and it worked. I killed the dragon, got the stone. No further crashes but the MAPS STOPPED WORKING THEN. Something to do with the crashes or just a bug on this island. My suggestion, reduce the number of creatures on any islands with many, and get someone to fix the map issue. This game is great, but ruined by these huge issues.
  15. You forgot the tame that needs the MOST attention... the crewmember. If the game ISN'T supposed to just be about acquiring tames and playing Noah the Pirate, the crewmember needs the most work. Crewmember - Right now JUST serves as an AI to man your turrets, cannons, etc. Doesn't make your life easier in any other way. Add the ability to use crewmembers on land for anything, particularly in terms of resourcing. Let me build a Forrester station and the crewmember gathers wood while I'm not around. Let me build a mining station and they gather stone and metal. Basically, let me hire crew to not NEED all the other tames, if that's what I want to do. Right now, tames are SO ESSENTIAL THERE IS NO POINT PLAYING THE GAME IF YOU DON'T USE THEM Bear Don't change anything. Bears are insanely powerful and probably qualify as the best tame in the game. They are godless killing machines, super fast, carry a lot, AND they can gather over 1000 fiber in a single swipe Chicken Don't change anything. They take like 2-3 minutes to tame, provide a valuable resource used in cooking, and are low maintenance. We keep 2-3 at each of our bases Cow Don't change anything. Super valuable and easy to tame. We keep one on each ship to turn vitamin D and water into non-issues Bull Many people have suggested using the Bull as the thatch gather. That would make sense. Increase carry weight. Crow Don't change anything. Super useful. We consider ours almost essential. Razortooth Haven't tamed one, no comment Shieldhorn Haven't tamed one, no comment Elephant Don't change anything. Like Bears, absolutely essential. Probably second most important tame in the game Giant Pig Don't change anything. Super easy to tame. Makes good cannon fodder. We keep packs of them near bases as simple defenders. They're shock troopers, useful, and disposable Giraffe Haven't bothered to tame one. Doesn't seem to have much point. Could possibly fill the Thatch niche,. However, other than Thatch there isn't much point to needing more creatures Horse Haven't bothered to tame one. They are supposed to be fast... but Bears are fast AND godless killing machines AND can carry a ton. Horses could be faster than bears, but then you'd be running around so fast the game would never load things until after they've eaten you Lion Don't change anything. Lions are insanely good Monkey Increase the warning range. Also, you need to normalize the creature spawns. Right now, "eek" means "you're about to be attacked by 5 tigers, and I'm about to die". Also, we haven't found them worth keeping around, MOSTLY because shoulder tames count as crew on ships and that is cancer. Make shoulder tames not count when put on a ship and we'd use them more. Ostrich Haven't tamed one, however ostrich eggs are good eating. They should be like mega-chicken eggs that provide large amounts of food in long-lasting containers. They should make food easy Parrot We've tamed a couple, but haven't found them worth keeping around, MOSTLY because shoulder tames count as crew on ships and that is cancer. Make shoulder tames not count when put on a ship and we'd use them more. Penguin Make hypo transfer to breeding creatures, otherwise same as all shoulder tames. Not worth an entire crew slot for a small buff Rabbit See All other shoulder tames Rhino Still can't carry quite enough to be useful. Also doesn't gather metal except from pure nodes, which often means we leave them in the garage in favor of picks. We usually need enough metal that we'll gather enough stone to not bother with a Rhino Seagull See all other shoulder tames. Provides no bonus. Possibly give a bonus to map view? Sheep Amazing and essential. No need to change. Tiger Like Lions. Vulture Didn't even think to tame one. Not really sure what niche it needs to fill. Wolf See Tiger. However, right now they're not quite as good as Lions and Tigers unless you're in a cold biome.

We do understand the current frustration from the community about the focus on introducing new content while there are still existing systems and features that need fine-tuning and fixing. Fear not though! We’re getting closer to being able to focus most of our attention on bug fixes and polishing of existing content. The waters may be turbulent now, but the storm will soon pass, so batten down the hatches and hold on for the ride! On that note, here are some things to look forward to in the current season! Sea Activity To put it simply, ATLAS is a pirate game. Player activities should focus on the sea and, well, pirating! To that end we are introducing some new features to encourage leaving your home base, taking part in sea combat, and increasing conflicts with opposing players and factions. Modular ships were introduced, in part, to supply a quick and straightforward way to get out to sea. We’ve made it no secret we’re not entirely happy with how they’ve turned out, so we’ll be exploring ways to improve their looks with new art and how sails work on them. Any major changes to modular ships will likely not happen mid-season, if only to prevent any issues with ships crafted prior to any changes. Floating Operating Bases Floating Operating Bases (FOBs) will introduce a whole new strategic system into Atlas where players will be able to build temporary floating bases to stage their fleet. The foundation of the FOB will be a large square with a hollow center. Along each side of the foundation will be snap points for Sea Docks, where player ships can be docked and protected. The foundation will provide support for all structures placed on it or connected to it up to 16 connections away, with no weight limit. There will, of course, be limits on where FOB foundations can be placed to avoid potential griefing. Placement Restrictions: Companies will be limited to one FOB per grid. Must be placed in the open ocean. Can’t be placed near Tradewinds, portals, islands or other FOBs (being allied will not reduce the placement distance restriction). Can’t be placed in Golden Age, Kraken or Maw grids. After placing the foundation, a decay timer will start ticking down regardless of if a player is within render range or not. There are only a few instances where this decay timer can be extended and once the decay timer reaches zero, the foundation will be destroyed. If the FOB foundation is destroyed, all attached structures will also be destroyed. Any ships currently docked will be released and no longer protected. Foundation Decay: Island Claim Grids: The foundation will decay after 36 hours and can only be extended if a War Declaration changes the grid into combat phase after the first 12 hours of the foundation's existence, meaning the foundation will be extended until the completion of the war declaration. Lawless and Lawless Claim Grids: The foundation will decay after 36 hours. PvE Specific: All FOB foundations will start with a 7-day decay timer which can be extended by 12 hours for 5,000 gold, with no limit on the number of extensions. On PvP servers, FOBs can be claimed by other companies using the same claim flag used to capture enemy ships. The flag can be placed anywhere on any structure connected to the foundation. If claimed, the ownership of all ships docked in Sea Docks will be transferred to the new owning company as well. Factions Fighting against Ship of the Damned and ships from other player companies is fun and all, but the rewards for doing so can seem underwhelming at times. A new faction-based system will be introduced that allows players to sail their ships under the flag of the faction of their choosing! While we’re still designing the specifics on exactly how factions will play their part in the game, you can expect to see ships from each of the available factions roaming the open seas, special faction-based rewards, and PvE quest line progression. More information will be shared as we get closer to implementing these new features. Trading System It’s been a couple of years now since we first started building a more automated and robust trading system, so we’ve had some time to evaluate how these systems are being used, their effectiveness, and enjoyability. The multiple types of auto-farm buildings, warehouses, markets, and sea forts all have an interconnected role in the current trading system, and we have several plans to improve many aspects of these. A few of our planned improvements: A new interface (UI) for Markets Physical trade ships Tame trading Improved Sea Forts Sea Forts will become a more integral and engaging system for both PvP and PvE players. Our last content patch included a slight preview of what’s to come by introducing our new smaller Sea Fort. We have much more in store for all of you though! From enemy NPCs, to hidden treasures and more, there’s plenty to entice players from all around. We don’t want to give everything away just yet though, so you’ll have to stay tuned for more details to come! Tame Utilization While creatures and tames may not be the main theme of ATLAS, they still play an integral part in current gameplay. With that in mind, we’ve been looking to improve how tames are being used. We’ve already introduced Tame Houses, Tame Hatcheries, and Tame Cargo Railings to improve breeding and transporting of tames, but there is still more we can do to improve their storage and utility. We’ve also received a lot of feedback from the community on Tame Houses/Hatcheries, with one of the main critiques being the current UI used to view what tames are currently being stored inside. Having to go through the radial menu can become quite cumbersome when there are more than a few tames inside, not to mention the available information displayed is quite lacking. We’ll be working on providing a much better user interface to display tames and their relevant information. Tame Barn While the Tame Houses/Hatcheries can be used to simply store tames, their unwieldy size and limited capacity do not always make doing so an ideal choice. The Tame Barn will be a new structure used for the sole purpose of storing mass amounts of tames. Tames within the barn will not reproduce or require food, they will simply be in stasis. Swarm House The Swarm House offers a way of obtaining new companion tames with the added benefit of passive resource generation. Swarm Houses provide the perfect habitat for Bees, Ants, Bats, Rattlesnakes and Mini Crabs. Nearby wild tames of the acceptable type will be drawn to the Swarm House where they will be captured and tamed. Creatures tamed this way will not be rideable or breedable. Passive Resource Generation: Bee: Honey Rattlesnake: Venom Bat: Nitro Fertilizer Ant: Toxic Flora Mini Crab: Crustacean Meat Single player While our current focus may be on official servers, we have not abandoned single player or non-dedicated players. One of the main draws of playing in single player (or a non-dedicated session with a friend) is the ability to play at your own pace. Official servers (and many unofficial servers) tend toward seasonal play with periodic wipes. Those with limited time to play often feel rushed to complete content and may not complete all goals before all that progress ends up getting erased. So why haven't we been keeping the single player map updated? When we update the single player map, this causes all existing single player worlds to be wiped as well. While not updating the map for so long has saved players from many unwanted wipes, it has also come with the unfortunate side effect of many new features not being accessible or obtainable. We want players to have access to current content without being forced to start a brand-new game unless they choose to do so. We also want players to be able to play on the same map as the one used on official servers. To do that, we’re investigating ways on allowing players the choice of what season’s map to play on at any given time. One of the possible ways we’re looking into is free DLCs for each map. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed. A new faction-based system will be introduced that allows players to sail their ships under the flag of the faction of their choosing! While we’re still designing the specifics on exactly how factions will play their part in the game, you can expect to see ships from each of the available factions roaming the open seas, special faction-based rewards, and PvE quest line progression. More information will be shared as we get closer to implementing these new features. Trading System It’s been a couple of years now since we first started building a more automated and robust trading system, so we’ve had some time to evaluate how these systems are being used, their effectiveness, and enjoyability. The multiple types of auto-farm buildings, warehouses, markets, and sea forts all have an interconnected role in the current trading system, and we have several plans to improve many aspects of these. A few of our planned improvements: A new interface (UI) for Markets Physical trade ships Tame trading Improved Sea Forts Sea Forts will become a more integral and engaging system for both PvP and PvE players. Our last content patch included a slight preview of what’s to come by introducing our new smaller Sea Fort. We have much more in store for all of you though! From enemy NPCs, to hidden treasures and more, there’s plenty to entice players from all around. We don’t want to give everything away just yet though, so you’ll have to stay tuned for more details to come! Tame Utilization While creatures and tames may not be the main theme of ATLAS, they still play an integral part in current gameplay. With that in mind, we’ve been looking to improve how tames are being used. We’ve already introduced Tame Houses, Tame Hatcheries, and Tame Cargo Railings to improve breeding and transporting of tames, but there is still more we can do to improve their storage and utility. We’ve also received a lot of feedback from the community on Tame Houses/Hatcheries, with one of the main critiques being the current UI used to view what tames are currently being stored inside. Having to go through the radial menu can become quite cumbersome when there are more than a few tames inside, not to mention the available information displayed is quite lacking. We’ll be working on providing a much better user interface to display tames and their relevant information. Tame Barn While the Tame Houses/Hatcheries can be used to simply store tames, their unwieldy size and limited capacity do not always make doing so an ideal choice. The Tame Barn will be a new structure used for the sole purpose of storing mass amounts of tames. Tames within the barn will not reproduce or require food, they will simply be in stasis. Swarm House The Swarm House offers a way of obtaining new companion tames with the added benefit of passive resource generation. Swarm Houses provide the perfect habitat for Bees, Ants, Bats, Rattlesnakes and Mini Crabs. Nearby wild tames of the acceptable type will be drawn to the Swarm House where they will be captured and tamed. Creatures tamed this way will not be rideable or breedable. Passive Resource Generation: Bee: Honey Rattlesnake: Venom Bat: Nitro Fertilizer Ant: Toxic Flora Mini Crab: Crustacean Meat Single player While our current focus may be on official servers, we have not abandoned single player or non-dedicated players. One of the main draws of playing in single player (or a non-dedicated session with a friend) is the ability to play at your own pace. Official servers (and many unofficial servers) tend toward seasonal play with periodic wipes. Those with limited time to play often feel rushed to complete content and may not complete all goals before all that progress ends up getting erased. So why haven't we been keeping the single player map updated? When we update the single player map, this causes all existing single player worlds to be wiped as well. While not updating the map for so long has saved players from many unwanted wipes, it has also come with the unfortunate side effect of many new features not being accessible or obtainable. We want players to have access to current content without being forced to start a brand-new game unless they choose to do so. We also want players to be able to play on the same map as the one used on official servers. To do that, we’re investigating ways on allowing players the choice of what season’s map to play on at any given time. One of the possible ways we’re looking into is free DLCs for each map. Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted. Features and changes that ultimately make it to the next patch, as well as timing, may be different from what was previously discussed.   18. So I haven’t been able to log in more than a minute at a time since the update! I have lost all my crew and my ship, bc when I was able to get in for a millisecond. My guy was drowning and I could see my ship below me. So wtf are you devs gonna do to get Xbox users shît back? Prolly fucking nothing bc your garbage, I’ve sent bug reports everyday and received nothing in return. Y’all need to shoot yourselves and end the misery for all of us!
  19. i play on pc, same happening to me. except it only happens when i leave the newcomers area into any other biome. frikn sucks i had a lot of stuff going on and i decide to venture out into central ocean or whatever using the portal in b3 and i haven't been able to log back in , in over a week
  20. Still happening lol, haven't demolished anything... at all..... nothing logged off and game updated logged in and lost mortar two large walls 20 small walls and a bunch of time lol. Not to include elevators keep letting my character just fall through them but that is another story.
  21. Oh wow, you literally wasted a day off man. The fact it is the 27th already and they haven’t given a time mean they are running behind. They are late all the time anyways. I can’t believe after this long people are still taking days off knowing these guys are always late. you didn’t think it was a least a little fishy they haven’t said anything for days? unfortunately for you they will probably release it when you are at work and everything will already be claimed by the time you get home from work.

  24. I've found one way to retrieve lost characters on official servers. I have tested this method and know it can work for PC players who lost their character in grid. I haven't been able to test it for people who lost their characters between grids because I haven't been able to recreate that problem. I believe it should save characters lost between grids. The problem I found is that something in the "Saved" folder of the game is becoming corrupt. This folder is used on our end to track some character information and is sync'd with the servers. Yes most the character information is stored server side but enough of it is stored in your saved folder to cause major problems. The solution is to use a txt file located in your "Saved" folder to obtain the IP address of the last grid your character was in then use steam launch options to connect directly to that server. This should resync your character information with the servers. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved Or if your game is on another drive navigate to that location. In the "Saved" folder is a text file named LastServerConnectStringCache_(bunch of numbers).txt this file stores the information of the last known location of your last used character. Have someone else use this file to find the IP address of the last grid your character was in. If jumping grids when you lost your character you should try both grids IPs, I haven't tested this as I said. Once you have the IP of the grid your character was lost in go to Steam-ATLAS-Properties-SET LAUNCH OPTIONS... and input +connect (IP of grid your character was lost in) and launch ATLAS. Example: +connect 10.69.666.420:1337 If done properly ATLAS will automatically connect to the server and sync your info, it may take a minute. Hope this helps, I have been trying to share this on discord and get other people to test. I have saved my character a few times now by backing up my "Saved" folder and replacing it when my character was lost. Now that I found this method I just have to know the IP of the last grid and I can bring it back. On a side note I believe the corrupted files in the "Saved" folder are potentially due to using an m.2 drive and or indexing service.
