  1. I'm a few years older and the best thing is I don't rush anything anymore, real life or gaming I take my time. I've got loads more patience now. Oh and I'm officially a grumpy burger, and I like it!
  2. as far as I know the cave is the snake boss entrance, kill the hydra from a distance, loadsa youtube vids about it. and killing it enables you to unlock a powerstone.
  3. Well it was actually a tongue in cheek reply to the post before it, thought you would notice by the fact I put ho ho ho at the end. Or maybe you thought by mistake that I was accompanied by three ladies of ill repute, and was using street to describe them.
  4. well I've been playing since release and I like the game, I liked it at the start and I still like and play it now and there are a lot of us that do. And some of us on this forum hit back at any mindless toxicity that is aimed at the game on a regular basis. Although I still believe players have the right to voice their opinions, or suggest changes to the game. But I agree that a lot of the toxicity puts new players off from playing, much more so than any game bugs will. And I am sure that is the intention of some people too, not all toxics, but some.
  5. At the moment i'd be happy if ship npc's could use a fishing rod, then they could effectively pay themselves.
  6. Yeh I think a lot of the scoffers are missing how good the base game of Atlas really is as a springboard for more content. I'ts got every element you'd need to expand on. I hope they do. And I don't mind the fantasy side to it either, I think that's why pirates of the caribbean is so popular cos it mixes pyrate lore and myth, as much as I love black sails too, I do enjoy the mythical side of seafaring.
  7. Or the spectrum with 7 colours all blocked and the external forever loading tape drive. And what was that game with the little bloke in the massive explorers hat?
  8. Actually they barely charged us for a playable game. Maybe it's cos i'm an old codger and grew up with bug filled games that loaded from tape in 45 mins if you were lucky and they didn't crash first. But i've played atlas for over 400 hours and I paid £11 for it, I played skyrim for about 300 hours and paid £40.I actually don't feel like I've had a bad deal at all.
  9. Well strictly speaking that wasn't really a live stream Q and A as advertised, However I really liked most of what I heard. I think it's clear the xbox release is the main concern at the moment, and why the hell not? they are running a business after all, I can't wait for the xbox version, and good luck to the devs I hope it goes smoothly. And they still managed to cover most of the topics too. Still not sure I want to be playing the mmo version of waterworld but at least they seem finally to be pushing away from Ark at last.
  10. Well I don't really want a game based on waterworld myself, and I would like to see more content in sea, air and land. and to make sailing more interesting shouldn't just mean more hazards when I sail. I don't find the exploration in this game boring but I know people do and would prefer a game of constant battles. The problem with sailing for a lot of people at the moment is how long they have to play daily, sometimes I only get an hour at the most and I don't want to sign out in the middle of the ocean, i'd like to see a compromise in the sailing speed somewhere. Looking forward to seeing what they do next.I'd like to add that it's nice to see a thread that hasn't been hijacked and used as an excuse for toxicity, it's really nice to see people swap ideas again without it getting silly.
  11. When you consider it pyrates plundered and then went places to spend their ill gotten gains. I know they would rather have player shops in the game, although making them more cost effective would encourage more of them! But it would be good to have npc vendors I could buy and sell with. obviously I wouldn't expect them to pay loads for everything but it could definitely be done, it would also help to start an economy structure for the players to get on board with. and encourage exploration if rare items were worth a lot.
  12. Surely straight from the bottle is the pyrate way.
  13. Isn't it about time the large shipyard was able to craft all ships of all sizes, even the smaller ones? It's a pain needing to place shipyards let alone a large and a small side by side, and it would cut down on game clutter too, and would help cut down lag.
  14. Yeh even though I don't totally want just a water based pirate game ( though I did think of buying Naval Action) I agree the water looks amazing in atlas, I spend a lot of time just fishing when I don't have time to explore, and I also liked the original post that's why I replied. It's refreshing to communicate with people about the positive aspects of the game for a change. And to hear other players ideas.
  15. Yeh it's funny with vid games, and mmo's are no exception that when the only limit is imagination how often the creativity gets lost in other issues. I like the base game of Atlas and the sky's the limit as to what they could achieve with it, and I really hope they do.
  16. Even though the game map is really big and diverse a lot of people get bored just exploring, quest and npc content in this game is going to be necessary for it's longevity. I don't mind if they expand on the sea creatures. But I still say that even though airships aren't strictly part of the game they should be. because eventually all the biomes will have been done on land, there is only so many ways you can do the ships, so a sky pirate addition for me is the way to go. I left ark because of all the tames, just wasn't my thing and I'm seriously into all things pyraty anyway so Atlas was a no brainer for me. But you're right about adding more npc's I totally agree it's gonna have to be the way to go, and not just enemies either. I'm sure I won't stop playing though, it would have to go very bad for me to do that.
  17. Or maybe the new guy could do something really drastic and only listen to people who have bought Atlas, own the game, play the game and support the game .Ho ho ho
  18. yeh it should say on the plant info how much the plot is irrigated
  19. Around the shore and in the sea, I fish everyday there now, didn't have any fish on my other base isle. Also catfish in ponds, and a cosmetic vendor too.
  20. well we're not getting them anyway. But the fact remains that if necessity is the mother of invention then boredom is the father, and when people have done all they can in a game they stop playing, the reason I stay with mmo's is because I always level up slowly and explore at my own pace. But even that only prolongs the inevitable ending. To keep us playing they will have to keep adding content. the bugs are a problem yeh but boredom in a game you play to fill time is sometimes worse. and there is only so much piratish stuff that is conceivable, after that you are gonna have to step up the fantasy side for sure. So eventually you are gonna upset some of your player base for sure. But worse in my book is to do nothing.
  21. Also they were part of an earlier devkit I believe, and they do still have one on the header, but anyway they have decided no to the airship anyway.
  22. well I was online on eso last night and if you think roughly 14 players in one region is busy you're the one whos trippin.
  23. I remember before ESO went to tam one in its structure, a lot of the long term players including myself told them in forums that it was a stupid idea and would almost make levelling and factions pointless. However on the forums a lot of new players said we were too stuck and the new idea was better etc.Well they did it anyway and now the server is almost empty most days. and all the new players that opposed us are gone.
  24. where did you find the amethyst on the skull island, I got a base there and I haven't found any.
