  1. Was passing through D4 earlier and there was a horde of them, everywhere I went.
  2. In Freeport boats decay rapidly, Personally I wouldn't keep one there but in PvP I get it. There is a timer on them if they are not used. I found this out previously. I am not 100% sure if it is simply someone being on the boat or if the boat needs to be unanchored to reset the timer but I think its something like 40 days.
  3. Whats considered decent for a Map Crab? I have a lvl 40 but 1st time ive really used a crab before so not too sure on their stats. Its got Health 570 Stamina 570 and Melee is 158.
  4. I think its likely due to the windmills being placed before the patch where the radius of them was increased and so now you have unnatural overlaps which after patch wont be allowed to exist.
  5. I saw in the last patch they increased the radius in which windmills can be placed. I'm sure this is an attempt to prevent people spamming them all over the place but it's the wrong way to do it. I recently took over a spot in a temperate zone where some guy had left 2 windmills next to each other. They both auto decayed today and so I went to place one, just one, windmill in its place. I can't. The build radius of the windmill is now much bigger and so it goes in range of other existing windmills. I destroy 2 and I can't place 1... Golf clap. What's the point. Introduce "content" but can't use it. You guys break more than you fix. It's getting old now.
  6. Polar region shouldn't be too hard to find one. Its not the most desirable place. Do you need to own the island or just looking for somewhere to build? Even if you buy the island from the owner there is nothing to say that while you transfer ownership that someone else can come along and contest it and take it from you. Chance you take.
  7. Ive seen a few of these lately. Thought it was a one off but seen 2 or 3 now. The frame stays in the water even if the shipyard is gone and the water curves around the boat like it has panels. Looked really strange.
  8. I said the same thing. You can put a resource box next to your windmill and achieve the same thing plus you gather wood and thatch, two of the biggest resources in the game.. you have to tend to your windmill now and again anyway and it really doesn't take long to transfer mats over. I know they implemented the warehouse to help you transfer mats over distance but that's assuming your windmill is even close to your base as everyone else has spammed them. 24h after putting down the warehouse I have no use for it. It's mega slow to accumulate mats and it burns crap loads of wood to fuel it. It's a pointless building. IMO they should merge the two together and have a building that you can put down like the silo and farms all available resources on that specific island. 1 per company per island. It collects slowly and caps at something like 10k a stack. Would solve a lot of issues and fix the problems the windmill and warehouse have created i.e windmill spam.
  9. I get what your trying to do but its just not compatible with how the islands or resources work. I think we've all worked this out. By implementing windmills you have encouraged mass spamming all over islands where people are trying to resource grab. Islands are littered with windmills. The warehouse is a good idea but you can put a resource box next to the windmill and have pretty much unlimited storage as long as you maintain your windmill regularly so it doesn't reach max capacity. Doesn't take long. You have to fix the warehouses because they are broken. Not even sure how you released them like this. 1 warehouse blocks almost an entire island with its current radius, needs a massive reduction, seriously!. But my solution to all this would be: to merge them both into 1 building. People are going to get their resources, either by placing numerous windmills around the area to gather the different resources they need or by any other means. You've added the warehouse to make it easier for them to access their resources so why not just take the leap and make it as simple as can be. Take both ideas and create a single building that harvests all the available resources on that island, up to a max of X stacks like you have done with the warehouse (10k) Make 1 per company or per island like the silo because that's all they will need. You wont need to mess around with build or gather radius because there will only be 1 available to build. It solves a lot of issues. Does it make obtaining resources too easy? Maybe, but you've already leaned heavily towards it already and added some major issues to the game in doing so. This solves that and gets people out on the water, where you want them.
  10. I recon they should just bin it all. Its a lot of hassle. Delete windmills altogether or incorporate the two together into 1 building. Just have 1 building that passively collects all the resources available on that island up to X amount. It will save windmill spam because people just place more windmills in different areas to collect those resources they are missing. If you placed 1 warehouse then job done. Everyone only needs 1 and there will be no mass spamming all over the island. I get what they are trying to do but its not compatible with the islands or how resources work. Its just encouraged land grabbing etc.
  11. So 1 warehouse pretty much claims the whole island and no one else can place one. LOL Well done dev team. amazing content.
  12. What about a pebble on the beach? That counts as a resource. I found a point that only collects wood thatch and fiber. Had to be really careful but I did it.
  13. Decay timers have always confused me. Pre last wipe we had a galleon outside our base for months.. easily over 40 days. I read somewhere that by boarding the ship it resets its timer? Is that true? So by anyone coming along and boarding a ship it resets the timer and could be there indefinitely if enough people were being nosy.
  14. I havent found that. If there is a node of that type within the circle they will harvest it. So if you have a rock that gives you stone flint and metal then it will harvest all 3, same with trees farming wood, thatch and if its the right tree sap too.. only takes 1 node to be inside the boundary and it will farm it. Haven't come across it farming things that aren't there.
  15. Yeah i've found that too. Looking at the map and the player location isnt always spot on. My map shows me pretty much on the edge of the beach when actually i'm a little further in land etc.
  16. I use the Antihax map but its not entirely accurate. Just checked where my base is and compared to the map and according to Antihax there is no spawn exactly where I am, its marked a bit further north but obviously there is as they were inside.
  17. Imagine two massive continents, such as Europe and North America. Now put those two continents together... now half their living space. Voila. It doesn't happen on PvP because they still have dedicated EU and NA servers. PvE is crammed in together. It's that guy walking around in trousers two sizes too small...
  18. I usually leave something on neutral inside the barn for such occasions. Usually its a horse wandering about or a seagull flying around the room but never know. Always headcount. And while your points are valid ones there's bigger problems with this game lol.
  19. Treasure isn't hard to find with the map, you have a massive beam of light marking it. It's not helpful making them invisible to people. I have been in my spot since the last wipe but today i've logged in to find tames dead because someone spawned a treasure map inside my base which I didn't even know was there... and as I was offline I still don't know where exactly the spawn is so what can I do about it.. Mark them or something. Like a scattered pirate corpses or a pile of skeleton bones on the floor. That way we know there is a spawn and we wont build on it. Or even better put a no build radius around them so you physically cant... There's no reason not to... You may get idiots building around them and holding them to ransom but that's easily dealt with by admin via griefing etc. Its frustrating.
  20. You will still need a tame to transport it back to base.. Windmill gathers resources and automatically stores it in the warehouse in whatever stacks they allow. You cant build structures close to the windmill or you affect gathering efficiency which is why they are all scattered in the woods etc. You also cant place them near each other which is another reason they are scattered. So you still need to transport your stuff from the warehouse to your base to use it in crafting or do whatever. Sounds like a nonsense. Could have just increased the storage limit on the windmill and achieved the exact same thing. What if you placed your windmill in an uneven area, will the warehouse attach or will it not allow it due to being obstructed? So you have to tear down the windmill to make both fit or both may not... will it then clip into the next persons windmill area and then be too close and again not allow it to link? Something I think they need to address before they implement. @Gomez Addams come on dude you cant seriously call this added content lol. Add windmill leave it to harvest job done.. If anything its removed it, the need for tames, going out with the right equipment to catch and tame them, growing the best food for them, breeding them for stats etc. Going out and farming the resources yourself. Now just plant windmill and walk away. I get they want to move away from the time chore on land but its not adding content. Unless they are setting it up for something further down the line?
  21. I had this recently where I couldn't build, the culprit was another ship yard which was actually quite far away but the no build zone around it was huge! The guys stopped playing and their stuff timed out and de-spawned and the second it went I could build again.
  22. Gonna be honest, I've played every phase of this game and suffered every wipe. I'm at the point where i'm not doing it again. I may have a look once it reaches actual release, which I cant see happening soon, they seem happy to milk the "Early Access" cash cow. There's no point in playing if this is just going to happen over and over. All your progress, tames, breeding etc wiped. Whats the point? It gets old after a while.
  23. Over weighting wouldn't remove planks plus you would get the weight warning in the top right corner and see your health go down.. Unless you unknowingly hit a low island? I know i've come across a few while grabbing DP even in quite deep waters. Were you in Tundra and hit a whale perhaps? I've had a brig clip in low water do a ballet dance twirl, flip upside down and get spat out to sea minus 4 planks. Lived and learnt from that one.
  24. There is a company limit yeah but there is also a server cap. I am a single company player. I have around 12 tames in C7 but I cant tame or breed my bears any more because the server is capped. Two different things i'm afraid.
