  1. Right clicking on an item in the smity, starts the crafting process. Without selecting any option.
  2. Same, since last patch. Pressing "I" to open inventory crashes the game.
  3. Well... Colonies: EU Colonies: NA PVE: EU Empires: NA
  4. I give it higher odds on going live, than the devs coming in and giving us an update about it.
  5. I finished a schooner right before going to bed last night. Today I log on and it's gone. No wreckage, just gone. I have no idea what happened. It was released from the shipyard and anchored still in the yard, while I finished all the odds and ends. All was normal when I logged off. Was offline maybe 12 hours. Did not have a company formed, so no log. Just not there today. PVE M8 Lawless test server.

  7. It seems to be the old system. I dropped floors 3 hours ago. They are at 10000/10000 with a 4 day "decay demolish" timer at full. Not sure if that means the can be demolished by a player at 4 days like before or auto demolish.
  8. Update: I dropped aggro and returned to it. Passing ship killed it. I completed the Scourge of the damned quest, I guess from the axe hits or being near it as it died. It dropped 32 gold and trash. I recruited 2 crew but they didn't take gold.
  9. We have a beached (Brig) SotD On the north tip of Walsley M8. Been there maybe 2 hours that I know of. Health 42426/70000. Motor still running, water jets spraying from the back. I hit it with my axe. It does take damage. It opened fire on me, I ran. Now it looks like it's trying to turn but stuck on a rock. Have great SS if I can figure how to convert .pnt files.
  10. I completely disagree! They should make it clear if and when all wipes will happen. And do it today. Let people make an informed decision if they are going to spend their time here. What you see right now with the population is what happens when people have the chance to make an informed decision. And you are suggesting some kind of back handed child psychology. The biggest problem here is that it was not clear to so many people in advance.
  11. A claim flag with a claim area just like before. Claim flags have a forced spacing rule to not overlap. Example: A 200 feet diameter claim with a 50 feet border. The closest enemy flag could be placed 300 feet away. You have 200 feet to build on with a 100 feet of empty area between. Overlap exception if you own both/all flags. No one can build on a PVE server in any area they have not dropped and maintain a claim flag. All object spam is gone. No boat spikes. Unless they use a claim. You have a limited number of claim flags. I would try 4 at first, maybe 5. Example: 2 flags together makes one big base. remaining 2 could be two smaller outposts bases. Replace that flag with something like a stone obelisk maybe 6 feet high. The flag/obelisk requires something not too painful, like 1000 logs a week. Can't preload more then 3 weeks of logs. If it runs dry your claim and everything on it starts a 72 hour until deleted countdown. During that countdown, all doors and lock boxes are unlocked for others to take from. You could be away for 3 weeks and be safe, then you're toast. A company of 10 or more active players can drop a larger (Company Flag), doing so costs one flag from each member. Maybe 400-500 feet diameter. Max 4-5 large flags. One big base and two smaller ones. Company members can deed personal claims to the company. Deeded flags have company flag rule sets. Company and deeded to company flags/claims require the same type of service as the personal claims and delete if that service stops. Players that have not logged in for 4 weeks are removed from the company. If you drop below 10 active players, company flags start a 7 day delete timer. You have a week to find members. You would also have a second type of flag. A temporary flag that only lasts for 48 hours. A smaller claim area, maybe 60 feet. This flag would mainly be for traps, short term wipe recovery or a small short term outpost. Limit one active. Could be serviced to keep active for 14 days max. Spacing rule (50 feet) applies. Drop claims on normal and lawless the same. Same rules apply. You can delete your claim flag. Deleting a claim starts a 10 minute all objects delete timer for relocating of claim if your not leaving altogether. Claims can be placed near shore in same depth as ship anchoring. Not in the deep sea. No decay on active claims. No tax of any kind. Anyone can harvest in any claim they can access. Resources can only be walled off if they are 100% within a claim where they could be walled off. Again... no building at all outside of a personal or company claim.
  12. Your options are false. Having a landlord or not having one, has nothing to do with the ability to build. Here's an option. A claim flag. One that cannot be dropped within the range of another that could result in overlapping unless you own both. That claim is yours alone to build on. No one can build on a PVE server in any area they have not dropped a claim flag. A company of 10 or more active player can drop a larger (company Flag), doing so costs one flag from each member. You have a limited number of claim flags. A small twist on something I saw in a game. Here's an option. A fixed grid of squares over each grid. The first to drop something on each grid owns it. Up to a limit of grids. ….. As long as you do something like pay upkeep or supply your repair unit.
  13. No landlords! We don't want landlords. Short and to the point. We don't want landlords.
  14. I don't like the limit idea. People spam foundations because they have been allowed to with zero downside. Add a report option on objects, that is reviewed by staff. If objects are found to have been placed for spam of grief, the staff returns all objects in world owned by that person and suspends them. The word would get out real quick and spamming would greatly reduce. Any false report claim, suspend them also.
  15. At this point I don't even understand what's going on here. Now, I'm just starting to grow tired of it. I was really looking forward to a new and better claim system. I don't look forward to this. First the news of the wipe, then no game at all to play right now, then this. My faith in this project has just about bottomed out.
  16. I watched one of my crew fly into the sky and gone. Was days before it showed as killed in the log.
  17. Jat 3/8 "Lot of questions re: when the PTR will be available. We'll let you guys know a date when we've got one to share, still working on preparing everything for this update at the moment." Re: next captain's log Jat 3/8 "We want to space them out a week between the last, if we have something to share. As the previous one went out on a Thursday, the next should be tonight, barring any fires."

  19. For many reasons. Like someone who takes up fishing. Then buys a $20k boat to support that. Or bike riding and buys a $2k bike to support that. For many it becomes addiction. For many a safe way to feel risk and danger. For some maybe they have limited options to get around due to the turns of life. Or escapism for someone that spend 8 hours a day at a desk. It's often stronger in MMOs because unlike say a shooter game, it does not end in 25 minutes and restarts like it never happened. MMOs offer a long and building string of goals and accomplishments to invest in. Over time their character becomes a part of them. Many non-MMO progressive minded people will never understand those who are. Those who are fully understand. It becomes a culture and sometimes a tribe that travels together to other games. There is a reason 14 million people played WoW.
  20. I'll be back after the wipe too. I'll be that angry MF with the flint axe in my hand.
  21. Maybe that guys was a shithead. I don't know. If so, so be it. But I do question the decision to make Atlas the first post retail MMO in history to delete characters. We'll see how the game review websites talk about this after it drops.
  22. After being sold. I can only imaging when the game review websites and magazines get a hold of this. So have I and if you were a beta tester, you would know it does not happen after it's sold to the public.
  23. I don't mind the testing. I can even deal with the loss of two solo built brigs, an almost complete galleon, tames, buildings... But I can't accept the loss of levels and dp. Not in a game that they sold access to.
  24. Betrayal is the only truth that sticks - Arthur Miller 541 hours
  25. As far as I know, Atlas will be the first MMO in history to delete paying customers characters. Why? We already did that part of the game.
