  1. Maybe this game just isn't for you? If it's not enjoyable as is, or the premise of farming materials/keeping tames bothers you, play Sea of Thieves instead? Pirate legend includes more than a drunken Johnny Depp talking like a Welshman having a stroke.
  2. I'm not really sure what you are saying. Jat is working on other Wildcard projects? Why is that a problem? Do you know how game studios work? The devs have done SO much for us lately... especially with the Xbox release. Just let them finish Genesis so they can work on Atlas next.
  3. This, Wildbills absolute shit take that we have heard a million times.
  4. Maybe I am misunderstanding you lol. But: GS as a subsidiary studio isn't protecting Wild Card from anything, considering Grape Shot appears on the Ark splash page and on the Wild Card website. Jermy getting sued for something that's pretty common to get sued for in the software world has nothing to do with Grape Shot as a studio. Its really dumb to see it as anything but a subsidiary made specifically for Atlas.
  5. Let's hear your dumb takes you can't stand! Please: No dev negativity! You can post dumb takes about the devs, but no posting praise of the devs as a dumb take. Dumb Take 1: " Pirates didn't herd animals! They weren't experts in dressage and farming! " First myth on our list, is also the most common one. It is 100% false, to such a degree its painful. Many pirates, Buccaneers, and privateers often sailed for the chance to purchase their own farms and plantations. Often, pirates would purchase these properties only to hire staff and leave family to maintain them while they served more calls to the sea. Just as we have "base bitches" so did pirates. Pirates certainly did not use animals as heavy machinery like we do as this is simply a mechanic to make our lives as players easier. However, it is not unheard of for pirate raids to consist of stealing or herding pigs, dogs, exotic animals, etc just as we do. In fact, none other than Captain Morgan himself wrangled thousands of hogs in his famous raid on Panama in 1671. Which is a raid strategy plenty of low level or under-powered players use in game, including myself! Secondly, as I already mentioned but it needs repeating: Owning and maintaining their current farm/plantation and livestock was the end goal of many pirates. Dumb Take 2: " Pirates wouldn't be caught dead doing all of this manual labor! " This is one I see people who are not from the America's spouting pretty often. It too, is really wrong: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haematoxylum_campechianum I really don't need to expand on how gathering specific types of a resource is a base mechanic of this game do I? Dumb Take 3: "Devs don't listen" Maybe it's cause I'm a kiss ass, but I feel pretty heard. All of my suggestion threads get dev attention, the devs respond to me on Discord.... Maybe your ideas are bad, repetitive... or.... you said it like an asshole? (Lack of trouble ticket response not withstanding.) Dumb Take 3: "Low Level Fatal Error" Oh man, this one. It was around for Ark too, or any game built in UE. It's literally the generic error name. Lordy. Dumb Take 3: "Atlas is just a Ark Total Overhaul/Ark DLC/Ark Mod/Ark Reskin." This one is by far my biggest hate. Just because its based on bad oversight during launch, as the menu for single player was still left in from using the Ark file Manifests (still uses them today, but Portal 2 uses Half Life 2's manifest... soo.....) This one is just something that comes flying in from salty Ark players who wanted this game to actually be an Ark reskin, when it's not. There is so much that is wildly different from Ark, while leaving some things the same. Which is okay! Alpha animals, tools, taming, temperature and stat mechanics, model reuse... That's all... just fine to use, its already a working system.... why should the devs done anything different; when literally NO ONE ELSE DOES. This is like accusing Rockstar of making Red Dead II a GTA V reskin. Or, better yet, accusing them of reskinning Table Tennis 2005 into GTAIV!
  6. Oh? Why? If it's because "lul salt makes ice melt dummy" Cause that's some clown stuff. Salt lowers the freezing point of water, it doesn't heat it up. The fluid in the bag will still be SUBFREEZING. For you:
  7. Its no different on PC, you just got out played. Better luck next time bud!
  8. Oh god here we go. "Jeremy got sued for breaking exclusivity contracts with another studio, therefor this company was opened to protect them"
  9. Ice and salt together makes the ice last longer, which will vastly increase spoil times of food. Cold weather will also lower spoil times when using ice.
  10. I like your heart and everything, I like that you added drawings, but.... There is not a lot of coherence to your ideas; and a lot of them are just importing more mechanics from Ark that were done away with for good reason. I don't want more Ark mechanics, I want less! (with exception to cryopods.) A bunch of this is already, or will be in the game exactly as you describe it. Like... a bunch of stuff. Especially everything to do with weather. That's already all there or will be soon. There are some good suggestions here though.... taken on their own. As a whole though, you are asking or a new game from the ground up. I really really really don't like your suggestions about ship building. More classes of ships are needed, but needlessly dullifying the entire ship tree would kill the tone of the game. Atlas is comic-realism. I think several new hulls are needed as well as expanded sail types. I too think figure heads should do more.
  11. Find better ways to make harbors. Use brig boxes. Just stop with the lag bombing and over use of locks.
  12. You're a pirate: just take one. Find an island you want that is owned by a small, inactive company. Activate the declaim process while they are at war. Alternatively, find unoccupied island by looking on the map for own-able islands without rings around them.
  13. Fuck Plebbit piss babies and your stolen content lol. All Reddit does is make bad meme, eat hot chip, and cry.
  14. In this place called reality "low level fatal error" can be one of literally thousands of errors; all of which have nothing to do with "spaghetti code" Stop using programming buzzwords you know nothing about.
  15. Hard too tell if you are sarcastic, sounds like you aren't.
  16. This error is caused by several things. Things you can do: Make sure you aren't overclocking your GPU. Alternatively, if you are talking about "low level error" "fatal memory exception" it means you need more RAM or a better GPU. You may need to install the game on an SSD Install higher speed memory. Playing on a laptop? Make sure you aren't in power saving mode. Turn off Shadow Play.
  17. Had a few more days, played in some zones/with tames I never get to use: T4 Tames: So.... basically the Shieldhorn, Razortooth, and Tortugar are useless, aside from using the Razortooth for base defense buffs. Razor: Make them a better version of the Tiger. Give them a breath attack, since they are dragons and not dinos. Meant for killing enemy tames or farming. Sheild: Include a channled ability that buffs nearby tames with VERY high defense AOE bubble. We're talking nigh indestructibility. Killing the Sheildhorn first should be a necessity. Tortugar: I don't like this tame, but I could love it. Should be used for farming fish/jellyfish. This could be accomplished by making the attack AOE in water far larger, and have it auto-farm any corpse. Vastly lower stamina drain in water (like spinos) Storms: At some point ridiculous amounts of tornadoes made it back into the game. While, I agree that they are cool as hell; seeing them all the time turns them into an annoyance and inconvenience rather than a challenge. Suggestion: One or two tornadoes per region only. Larger "deadly" and has a chance to teleport you to another zone. Breeding Predators: The 100 stacks of meat have been a boone, but can we please get a longer expiration time on meat placed in predators or in troughs?
  18. I'm pressed to agree the game should allow careening; but many famous pirate vessels were taken to the bottom by rocks in the keys and Carribeian.
  19. Running aground is a real danger in boating, a number one cause of small boating accidents is running into a rock or reef.
  20. Saying "Grapecard" unironically while trying to make the argument that it's not you being toxic? Face it: The Ark import players into this game are the problem. You guys are toxic as hell. It's infectious. I spend an hour on this sub and I turn as angry and stupid as you. Quit spending your time around other stupid and angry people. Atlas is a fantastic game, but, playing it with a large group of people who are toxic and bad at it; you'e gonna have a bad time. Sure, we can blame bad mechanics or imbalance on Grapeshot. Blaming grapeshot for people's actions? No. Like I said a few months ago, if this is how you feel: Uninstall, leave the forums, leave the discord. Or, instead of leaving, shut the hell up and suggest ways to fix problems that are actually productive. If you'd rather do neither and continue your forum exploits, move to PvE like the rest of us who possess something resembling intelligence.
  21. Meanwhile both PvE servers are absolutely thriving. The toxicity of your fellow PvP players is not Grapeshot's fault.
