I agree. I never liked taxes in real life, so seeing it in game just made it irritating. I can understand needing 10% for upkeep, but 30% is way to much.

That is pretty bad. We had several in our alliances who were constantly looking for a claim as well. Since my company only had a few people we only had a few claims. We actually gave two away to help new players out. Honestly some companies took the claim system way to far and as a result a lot of the claimable servers were dead silent. Many company's were not to greedy though, but all it takes is a few bad apples to spoil the bunch. Or so they say. If they do keep the claim system on pve I truly hope they reduce the claim flags to 1 per server and maybe a limit of like 3 or 4 flags in total per person. That way veteran and new players could all have a better chance of getting a claimable land area.

I am with you on that. I have over 400+ hours of game play so losing our company's stuff sucks, but I really looking forward to testing the changes and new things on the test server!

But then those people had to pay up to %30 taxes. I do not know about you but if you just started a job and had little to no money and taxed %30 of your paycheck I do not think you would like it.

Unfortunately the new players would quit because all of the claim islands were completely claimed with no room to build. I think this way is more new player friendly and will help the game out. My company only had a few claims and never bothered adding a tax because I always hated taxes in real life so I was not about to do it to someone in game. Trust me I understand that no claim kind of sucks, but some took it way to far and got way to greedy. I hope this change will help keep the new players.

I have seen so many in game talk about the lag the sotd cause, spawning almost on top of them, or just yesterday a sotd had pinned them into a rock. At this point the only people asking for more sotd seem to be the claim flag owners who want you to do all the work while they get their get tax from you... Yesterday I was heading through a claimable region and a group of newer players were talking about having 7 ghost ships following them. I had advised them to try to outrun them and fix their boat while at sea. With the lack of wind they tried to get to shore to anchor but instead they got pinned on a random rock by the sotd. They were sunk, and started talking about how it does not make sense to have so many sotd. As they talked in chat a person who owned a few claim flags in the ocean and on land in the region started talking about how they need to get the f over it and just suck it up and pay their taxes.. At this point, I did not know if they were joking or being rude so I asked the claim owner if they meant real life. This person went on a rant talking about how they do not even lift a finger and have all that they need. Apparently there are some people who own claimed land & ocean areas that feel ENTITLED to have you kill the sotd so they can make money off you. This is why if I am in a claim area I never fight the sotd. I would rather fight them in lawless where I get 100% of my earnings. Sucks when you play games to have fun or escape real life BS and end up having to deal with much worse BS in the game you play.

I had this happen yesterday and after it instantly killed me it sent me back to the beginner region..

I just had this happen to a master craft chest plate... I thought using dyes to color it might help but it does not. This bug really needs to be fixed.. Please devs!

I could understand if they increased the rate in golden age zones as that is a zone you go into knowing their are a lot of npc/monsters there, but not in the normal regions.

I can not stand when there is barely any wind even sailing with the wind and you get surrounded by 4 or 5 of them worse if they are high levels... Even if you fight them get ready to be sunk.

If anyone else is experiencing this problem NEVER kill yourself to make yourself respawn! You will lose your character data!!!! I have now lost my character because of doing that...

Tried it and did not work. Gave up on playing now find out there were issues with the server. They did do a patch now my friends who did not try to respawn can get back in while I can not. I do Not recommended trying to kill yourself to respawn if you connected but are unable to interact with things.
