  1. i am glad if that worked as a solution for you, but in my case i have games i can play solo and have much more fun than in atlas, so if i take away the MMO component of this game it kinda becomes irrelevant because once you have played it once...well its not even fun a second time (at least for me) specially if you consider how it lacks in so MANY departments, so i would have prefered they fixed the game rather than to push a solo version of it.
  2. is not ment to be usefull is meant to solve problems this is an individual claim system, i havent even mentioned the company claim system, so the fact that you are comparng them both is like comparing apples and bananas without further explaining what you mean with this i have no idea what you are referring to. you havent given a single arguement, as of now you just thrown unralated complains with no base at all, let alone a relation with the current system (my intution tells me you are an island owner scared of losing his income) no, only you are, because you are a special snowflake. if you cannot even read a post properly and realise i said i was talking about the PVE servers, dont even try , and sit silently in a corner. i dont give 2 fucks about "your" MMO way, i play MMOs only to see the drama from the distance while eating my popcorn, not that there is much drama in PVE anyways.
  3. just as Boomer said, you repair with the mats you use to craf them.
  4. this is why we cannot have nice things, i am not a critic of the early access concept at all, its intention is good, but just as a lolipop could become a murdering weapon in the hands of the wrong person the current gaming industry greed knows no limit, and in a every day more compulsive consumist society wich is constantly being indoctinated by big companies to become less and less demanding while more and more tolerant it has become an exploitative tool wich only porpouse is to make money at the cost of even its own well being.
  5. the important thing is you can place only 1 (meant for you base), so you cannot "lock people in" even if you settle next to them because overlapping terrain would belong to the 1st person who settled there, the worst griefing you could do is to build in their entrance side making their entrance unnecessarily crowded but since they would have a (lets say) 10x10 buidling area they can just leave a 2 square margin in all sides and problem fixed, the original claim system didnt work because they designed it in the most incompetent possible way, you could steal terrain by overlapping meaning you could also lock them in as you mentioned. i had 2 briggs and 1 galleon, why?
  6. the thing is that climbing a mountain is sometimes tricky, so you can be lucky, choose the right side to approach it and use only one to reach the top or you could do 1 or 2 failed approaches and end up needing all 3 picks, as far as i remember 1 climbing pick lasted about 3-4 uses but i remember seen they reworked them? not sure if that rework was only animation wise, so i might not be accurate.
  7. Exactly, they thhink the have outsmarted the system but the consequences are quite clear, people will stop suporting early access games, in my personal case as much as i am enjoying 7 days to die i didnt pay for it, i will buy it when it releases as a finished product because i like it but i have set myself a red line of not buying anything in early acces anymore, and i have heard friends conversations about doing the same thing. Supporting early access once was being naive (anthem) doing it a second time was a mistake (Atlas) doing it a 3rd time would be being stupid.
  8. i dont think lootboxes has anything to do with the standar developing procedures, one is greed and the other one is simply unprofesionalism, as a company you can have both, none or one of those thraits, they are not excludent from eachother, not having one or both doesnt insta make you a good guy, what OP is referring to when mentioning ubisoft is the standar procedure of not releasing updates near the weekend, not that theose greedy bastards care a bout us.
  9. its not reasonable not acceptable to ship a unfinished, badly developer, buggy, lacking of content game selling it as if there was nothing wrong with it, just as is not reasonable to and is actually punishable by law to sell something on the internet advertising it as X and then deliverying Y because you never had X to begin with but you need to eat, selling something by providing missleading information is called fraud. as you can see there is never a mention of the game being in early access, they mention a road map but never the development stage of the game, we cannot even call this an alpha, 7 days to die is in Alpha stage and it has 500% more technical polish than atlas, satisfactory is in beta and it has 1000% more technical polish, the only reason videogame companies are pulling this type of cash grabs with no legal repercution is because is more expensive to file a lawsuit than to lose 20 bucks.
  10. what speed handicaps were removed? they are coming after the siesta.
  11. is funny how people come to a survival game but want a safe enviroment, this game was actually dangerous when launched, i cant remember how many times i died, but it was challenging and fun, then they made the wild creatures dumb and infected them with alzheimer (they would faint attack you then run away then forget that they even saw you ROFL) and if that was not enough alpha's count was diminished too now Atlas is a boring game with boring land gameplay and boring sea gameplay, like a minecraft without digging, a building/sailing simulator.
  12. is quite more simple than that, you have a box and you place it on the ground and you can build on a "x" limited radio around it, boom i fixed the need of a claim system, the fundation spam problem, the need of a decay system, and some griefing problems in the time it took me to write this.
  13. dont bother mate, they dont care, the moment i saw that the weapons nerf in pvp was applied to pve servers too (making bows better than guns as a fact) i knew they simply dont give a fuck, at that was just the beggining, what they have been doing all this time is trying to pull the dishonest card as a seller, all major companies have been doing the same and they tought "if they can get away with it we also can"
  14. dont even bother realist (unless you enjoy it ofc) i spent about 500 hrs of sailing and discovering and unlike some people i didnt use the bed teleport with continuous company swaping to get all my discoveries i sailed there myself, i remember i got about 190 discovery points and had every single one of those islands reosurces maped in a huge excell, and you know the what the funny part was? the day i discovered that doing the kraken gave players 200 discovery points (wich can be done in less than 2 hrs) that day, i simply quit. so as i mentioned before unless you enjoy exploration dont bother with it, use the company swaping technique + the groupal content like kraken and so and you are set. btw didnt they say they were removing the vitamin system? from those times i remember i would "eat" crog wich would totally satiate my hunger fully so i only had to worry about water wich i had 3 barrels on the deck wich would refill if i ever ran into a rainy weather. for ship well it depends, i used my brigg simply because i wanted to kill all SotD i came acoss, but a sloop is probably your best choice (with medium sails as far as i remember) not sure now that there are SotD galleons but unless you eat a full barrage you should be fine. climbing picks are a must. there are several discovery points in the very peak of the high places, bring at least 3 with you their durability decreases a lot with each use if i was you i would take a bear with me, you can jump from very high places and it takes the damage (wich you can heal with a skill) you wont die from random wild creatures encounters (wich will save you a lot of pain and heaches) and you will move around the islands faster.
  15. well i spent 700 hrs on a lawless, being completely sure my landlord would not kick me out to have my stuff(yes there is people like that), being completely happy about the fact that 100% of my work was directed towards my goals not towards someone elses goals, the claim system has absolutely nothing to offer the non owners at all (notice that what i am saying is valid only within the PVE context) the current claim system is not adequate to a pirate world economy is a capitalist simulation, if i wanted a realistic capitalism simulation well i already have real life.
  16. so you think a game with 225 grids and a average player count of less than 5 players per grid to go 900 grids and that would magically make the game fun? that goes without even mentioning the pve only people would never play such a game, you want to pvp go pvp servers is that fucking simple, stop trying to drag pve people into the pile of shit pvp is.
  17. while i was replying to him i was talking in general, also all my respects to him, i was just in the "lets slaughter them booooiis" mood
  18. thats what happens to console peasants, rise my friend and join the glorious pc master race!! are you seriousñy crying over 10 days? you were gonna get rekt anyways since pc players are already veterans with high knowledge of the game, believe me when i say that 10 days adventage is the least of you problems.
  19. the nice situation you are describing amounts to about 1-10% of the total cases in wich a player lives under other, but even if we leave that aside the simple fact that we are supposed to be pirates yet are forced to live under landlords and pay taxes totally contradicts the essence of being a pirate, a pirate's dream has always been freedom not dependance, the claim system sheer existence is in my opinion absurd, as well as gating up content behind groupal activities, i dont think there has been a single pirate in history that became a pirate to "socialise" and "do things togheter" with other pirates, what they sold us is a completely different thing than what they are delivering.
  20. the fat woman died because ... well beause she was fat. r.i.p.
