  1. This is how they did it in ARK since forever. They literally have never put in any kind of cohesive tracking system of any kind. They somehow ascertain that cheating occured, and rather than having the ability to to identify the actual offenders, they have always taken the stance of "Well you should know and trust the people you let into your group" and ban everyone indiscriminately.

Like... For some reason... They cant take a peek at realitytown and see you have bad apples amongst all of your lawyers, politicians, doctors, police, military, or even game designers that fuck up and make everyone else look bad, you dont get beneficial results by mass banning/punishing people because of the action of 1-2.

It's pure laziness which is deeply rooted in Wildcard/Grapeshot since 2015. I dont know why anyone ever expected anything to ever be any different here.

Game companies are all on the verge of bankruptcy.  Thats why a lot of games spring to life on Kickstarter.  MMO's are only survivable if they are popular.  So if you like Atlas, SUPPORT Atlas.  If you are 4000 hours into it and all you can do is badmouth then don't expect next time you log in that the public servers will be available, or the game itself.  They've basically shut down 80% of the servers by killing NAPVE and reducing the size of other grids by 1/4.

SUPPORT GAME COMPANIES  THEY ARE DYING ALL THE TIME.

Yeah, but support the good ones... Not the lazy money grabbing ones like these guys.

I read it, I play on xbox and PC. I have been part of many betas the point is to make the game better not worse. The SOD and the ship frames need to be fixed. So yes this game is turning into a POS. I only get on now to maintain my bases and feed animals. This last hot patch did not make me go to sea more but become a land lubber.

I am glad you have a PC and an xbox. I myself have a PC and a PS4. Being part of a open/closed Beta is not the same as BUYING INTO AN EARLY ACCESS. They are completely different things.

On one hand you have a FREE BETA where you test and report issues and stress the game so a team of developers that actually care about their game can fine tune it before release.

In this hand we have ATLAS, an EARLY ACCESS you paid for, with no guarantee they will ever finish the game, or fix anything. You gambled. Everyone here gambled. And lets be honest, it hasnt been paying off for the mass majority of players, with the exception of a tiny fraction of sticklers that still grind away because they enjoy it, which is fine. Pretending the game has ever been in any level of acceptable state for an EA is just you lying to yourself.

At the end of the day you still have to deal with the facts.

ATLAS has always been broken, just to varying degrees of bad to worse.
ATLAS  Doesnt make money... At the end of the day, there isnt much incentive to work on a product that crashed and burned at the starting line. It's nice niche players stuck around, and a few more cropped up over time, but 2000 avg players daily isnt exactly healthy for a game that isnt actively being developed. It's been 8 months, and what has been done? They added a fire arrow? level capped people cuz of the kraken, and added a new structure and fucked up the barrels again? They must be hard at work thinking up new and exciting ways to fuck up the game without telling anyone whats going on.

Why are you here, if you knew it was a pile of shit?

They gave me a copy for FREE! And lets be honest, the forum content is WAAAAAAAAAY better than the game content.😆

  4. I cannot stress enough... That this is entirely your fault, after buying this with money... And not researching your purchase, reading reviews, reading forums, youtube, etc.

It's generally a good practice to always read negative reviews and criticisms, and then compare them with the positive... Usually if a product has a majority of negative reviews, literally everywhere... You dont buy it, it has a very high probability of being bad.

See what you did was you went to a flee market, where someones dog shit on the ground outside someones booth, and you looked it over for a bit and were like "Hmmmmm, how much good sir?"

    "Uhh... like three fiddy"

    "DEAL!"

Then you picked it up with your HANDS, and were  unhappy it was just a pile of shit after all...

  5. I mean do you want me to hold your hand and cherrypick a handful out of the 17,000ish negative reviews? or the two years of forum threads? Pretty sure that dead horse has been beat pretty hard for the last 2 years. The Whole last year especially since the Devs have been entirely absent.

It's almost like you bought this house, seeing the picture of the house, seeing the weeds, knowing the condition it was in. You showed up after the purchase and were incredibly displeased you got what you paid for.

[Edit] YEAH! BUT WHO'S GONNA FIX THIS SHIT?!?? Bullshit ass contractor, dont know how to build houses. The plumbing is garbage, the roof 100% leaks.

With the new farming system, there's less incentive to go out and swing one's pickax.  This greatly contributed to maintaining a balanced diet, as it tired your character out quickly and helped drain the various vitamins (so you could fill them up in a reasonable manner).  Swimming and dancing also contribute, but not as significantly as swinging an ax.

Additionally, many people bypass this mechanic by committing suicide (like eating feces or rotten meat).  Some in PVE point weapons at each other, as well.  This contradicts the game's survival intent and is crosses into moral dilemma territory... not something we really want younger players of the game to experience or think is okay.  Moralities and issues of suicide aside, is this something game developers are willing to take on?

Possible solutions include allowing building (ships or bases), dancing, swimming, and fishing for flotsam to contribute more to vitamin drain so players can maintain a diet without resorting to more unsavory tactics....

    Thanks!

Maybe it was like a garbage mechanic to begin with. It's been nothing but a thorn since day 1, just like eating a handful of berries will give you... Toxic vitamin C poisoning and kill you? Another shit mechanic, nope see if you eat too much vitamin C, ur piss is just gonna be yellow and you might get the runs. But not in ATLAS, that shit will fucking murder you dead, 10/10 game mechanic. Players will always game the system. What incentive is there to maintain a diet? There isnt any, so why not kill yourself and respawn? There isnt any penalty for that, 100% easier than maintaining a stupid diet.

  7. Yeah well... This is what happens when you support these devs. They are notorious for making kneejerk tweaks without understanding or even considering the long term consequences.

People have been farming kraken since day 1, and suddenly its an issue? Yeah nah. Theyre just bad Dev's mate. Dont expect anything from them.

Trouble is the way it comes across to me is Ark is their main game and I wouldn't be surprised to find out alot of the money raised from Atlas also goes to Ark, I bet much of Ark money doesn't come Atlas's way.

Got a sense of this when it went silent for months to work on Ark DLC, Jat and Dollie pulled from Atlas to go back to Ark. What they should have done is kept regular streams going on Twitch which costs nothing.

Now they have added farmhouses it has taken tames away from the game apart from bear maybe but alot of it is collected automatic. I just hope they add alot more content in PvE. I'd like to see ship battles and jumping onto NPC ships and they fight you, wishful thinking though.

ATLAS was a gamble that didnt pay off. You dont stay on a sinking ship when your career in game development is on the line. They lucked out with the success of ARK despite its issues and thought they could reproduce that success by ripping a DLC into a standalone that flopped. They gave it the gold ol Magikarp try and then fucked off back to ARK where there is still a decent cash flow.

  9. Pure and utter incompetence. I'm surprised people still play this.

Dev's have been entirely absent since November last year, except to pop in for a brief moment, to fuck your shit up and then add a fire arrow. And then SURPRISE! Theyre back again, to fuck your shit some more because "We didnt expect people to keep fighting bosses.... like they do in literally every game that has bosses. EXPLOIT".

Theyre like the Soup Nazi, except for fun...

  10. There hasnt been any "real" update or work of any kind on this dumpster fire Since before November. Theyre all back at Wildcard since thats where the easy money is.

ATLAS cant sustain numbers or keep money flowing in. Its a bust.

  11. At this rate and their general lack of experience outside of ARK, they had a 1 hit wonder(ARK), and tried to replicate that success, and realistically failed.

If you want games like ATLUS, well Last Oasis is out, it's very similar. except that it actually works and is fun, and has a playerbase. Also it has more than 4 ship types.

    8/10 would recommend.

    1. ARK launched in worse state compared to ATLAS back then and it manged to pull though and now it's one of the most played Steam game of all time, but we are not giving ATLAS any chance other than complaining, i know the devs have been slacking due to Genesis DLC but there is no reason to put off new comers nor whine about it,

    2. Every Developer Re-uses their Assets in their future games i mean literally every game does this it's nothing new, Path of Exile devs had an entire Hour dev talk about how Devs should save time by re-using Assets in order to focus on making the game better than just re-create everything which will take years and years! why create a new asset when you have already made one which took you years and ready to go with some tweaks?
ATLAS has a better foundation than ARK had in Early Access.

    3. if you want your voice heard DISCUSS not complain, if you want bugs fixed report them, send a ticket but keep in mind it's an EARLY ACCESS game and you know what that means it means it's in its testing phase it's not complete and it needs a lot of work i agree but not when there is a lot of negativity that may destroy the wills of the devs, Jesus even the community mangers gets bashed to oblivion.

    4. in the end i just hope to see less negativity and more positivity in this community, less whining more helping new players instead of telling them to go away, i have seen people ask for help on certain topics and never got any response for weeks heck even months but when there is a whining post everyone jumps in.

    5. So please i don't want ATLAS to die as Dark and Light did, let us discuss and have fun i'm tired of seeing negativity in on every, comment, post, video, if you don't like it go play something else and let us enjoy it, hope you all have a nice day/night.

    1. No it didnt, ARKs 2015 EA launch was alright despite a lot of bugs that were mostly worked out over time, except some deep seeded core issues that allowed undermeshing that exist entirely to this day as well as the core mechanics behind duping. The launch itself was fine, the severs were pretty stable. ARKs 2017 September Full release was an absolute shitshow because they were trying to shut down a large portion of the low population official servers that were not being wiped and kept in their own network, and migrate them over to the wiped network for launch day, and the script they setup to do all of it and launch everything blew up launch day and bricked most of their servers. Either way, its 2015 launch and its 2017 launch, were AMAZING compared to ATLAS's launch.

    2. No, they dont. Asset flipping generally occurs in games owned by companies that like to put out a NEW version of that game every year or two. Like Battle Field, Call of Duty, madden, NBA. And it is generally knocked on by those respective gaming communities because it's incredibly lazy and you generally end up with subpar game tweaks at full retail prices. Wildcard IS NOT Grapeshot, Grapeshot is NOT Wildcard, they are not the same studio despite having overlapping developers and Grapeshot technically and legally didnt own or have any rights to any of those asset flips that occurred unless they were properly licenced through Wildcard/Snail Games(And looking at the main devs history of shady developement, anti-competition contract breaches and staff poaching that resulted in them forked out over 40mil in lawsuits, it's a fair bet they didnt licence anything). It was a burner studio made to push a product that had dubious chances of success away from their overlords Snail Games and Wildcard to avoid tarnishing what reputation they had.

    3. Yeah no, no voices are being heard.... Because theyre not here.. Discussions dont work with this Dev crew or its core community. You have to remember you have the Die hard white knights who's logic consists of "Well its EA and that excuses it from all of its sins" and the famous "If you dont like it, just leave, we dont want you here". The game has no support staff. The Devs are absent. The Mods, bless their sad little hearts, are wasting their time. Progress in games like this doesnt really happen when you only listen to the fans that suck your D and take part in the great circle jerk. You get stuck in an echo chamber of "It's fine! you guys are doing a great job! We love it! It's amazing! yall are the best, dont listen to those other guys theyre just haters! it's probably their fault their boat is stuck 100 feet in the air. Theyre cheaters or something, just ban them"

    4. In the end I just hope to see them actually work on the game I paid for. But we all know thats not gonna happen.

    5. It deserves to die like Dark and Light. It deserves it. They deserve it, they are lazy as fuck and want to put the least amount of effort into it, and somehow have a successful product? Well that's what happened with Dark and Light, so stands to reason, that's what is going to happen with ATLAS. Good Riddance.
