  1. I agree they need more large pre-constructs to give more alternatives to these spams. However these structures have a mesh associated with them and can be demoed in sequence to crash servers. Exhibit A: Lighthouse bug abuse to cause roll backs I'd like to see an NPC barracks or something, a harbor gate/gatehouse and some dock structure pieces
  2. It is not based on Render. It is based on distance from the upkeep bench. This is all extrapolation from their patch notes, and hopefully will be made clearer this week
  3. As owner of an Island you have the ability to control who builds on it to some degree. In addition there is a decay system where materials need to be added to some sort of station to maintain buildings. This means anything detached from from your base will decay rapidly most likely if you don't do upkeep. It could still be an issue where someone could temporarily make your island hell if they came and spammed thatch foundations everywhere as those who control the island would have to go press delete on them
  4. I was surprised not to see this bug listed anywhere on forums as it is a well exploited one during PvP. Exploited Bug: During large raids a company can demolish multiple lighthouses at once to cause a server crash and rollback Effects: Servers at full pop then are empty for more defenders to log in Random roll on whether or not your boat gets teleported to neighboring tile Additional tactic used - have additional ships sit on boarders waiting for enemies to be teleported out of zone and kill them before they load in. Can be used to avoid unwanted outcomes Confirmations: Visually watched it happen The raiders bring boxes of lighthouses to raids (Confirmed via twitch streams and physically killing people with them in their inventories) Only seen it utilized during large raids with 100+ people as the server is already in an unstable state
  5. This patch Client: v18.73 & Server: v18.76 just broke the servers again.. can only see unofficial. Multiple members can't see servers Hey.. at least I got to play for two days. See everyone in a week or when ever the next full server restart update is
  6. I will say there isn't much you guys can do other than perhaps verify integrity. More than certain it has to do with some communication between client and server. Happens when they do updates. Probably some port doesn't disconnect properly when disconnecting from the game. It took a month before my friend stopped getting this error, and it took me a week this last time it occurred. I've lost over two weeks of play time over the last month. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save yourself the sanity and don't bother uninstalling, etc. We tried everything.
  7. After this mornings patch the server showed up and I am able to Query them again. So what ever they did fixed it for now. But it has been twice now this has occurred so the best practice on preventing it hasn't been figured out?
  8. - Fixed some server startup crashes- Widened the amount of networking info the server can send to clients- Server optimisations Can we get any update Jat????? The latest patch still didn't fix the issue. This is crazy that you haven't responded once to this post in over a week. There are numerous people in my company who have submitted tickets as well just to be closed.
  9. What does this have to do with being unable to Query the server? We can't even connect to the game to experience 'lag".
  10. ***Possibly Identified the issue?*** My friend online said the Grid Server IDs are reading as version 18.15, as of today we are currently supposed to be in version 18.58. Is it possible a tag on grids isn't get updated each update causing clients to think they are mismatched. When i launch Atlas my lower left shows the correct version number. But the server I logged out in has a tag of 18.15 ----------------- Checked the Server ID vs patch notes of when I was last able to log in which was version 18.15. I think I'm on to something here, but can't explain the discontinuity between players
  11. Additional Information: Still unable to connect, No official servers are displayed. "Unable to Query Network" I can't view the "Game Info" of friends playing on the server, it's almost as if I don't have permissions to see the server. I can launch an official Ark server and log in just fine which crosses out BattleEye I think, as well as Steam downage. I tried verifying integrity some more.. still no bueno
  12. 4th day still no access to the game. I've lost about 12 days of play time now due to this Network query bug since January 1st
  13. To be clear.. This issue popped up for me the first week of January after they made a major version update. AND again as of today with the latest update. Methods I tried: Closing Steam, force updating Verifying integrity Joined a unofficial Completely deleted steam ATLAS folder - Reinstalled None of these methods worked so I: Released & Renewed my IP address Changed to a new IP This half worked - It made the EU servers show up. Still no NA servers Waited 8 days till a patch suddenly made the servers pop up. ----------------------------------------------- Specs: 1080 ti strix, 1Gb fioptic internet ------------------------------------------------ In conclusion: This is not a steam outage issue. Nor an issue on the user. It is directly related to when they make patches. This means their claim that steam is at fault is invalidated and or they have some IP registry that isn't getting flushed correctly since a change in my IP made servers show up. No network specialist, but this seems to be echoed by some other sources.
