  1. IMAO DEVs should add there a resource box, so If you go for resources, you can park it to shore, and bring all you find there, and after you done - you swim back to your ship. (I thought about that before I discovered that tames are replacing almost everything in PVE. Resources and carrying? - Ride tames. Discoveries - ride tames. Fight army of damned lvl-30? Ride tames : ))
  2. I was planning to hang out in Golden Ages for some time. To see what single guy can do there. But then caught a cold and felt so bad so I couldn't even seat and play a games (I feel better now). But I log in everyday just to farm and cook some food for my tames and crew and every time I see 4-5 ppl online in my EU PVE (I2) grid. That amount of players was normal before wipe announced : )
  3. I keep seeing messages of some PTR before major update. Those messages from players only. Were there any that kind of messages from DEVs? (I mean those about march-20 will bring PTR and after a week there will be live).
  4. Just wanna share closer look of wooden foundation and walls painted in ORANGE and stone roofs painted RED: I found wooden walls painted in WATERCOURSE GREEN looks nice (probably my next village will be that green).
  5. IMAO so far the idea to separate all islands in to small territories players can claim (1 per person, limited per companies) is best one. Not sure about amount of yards, but I've already brought numbers we (small company) need: - 6 houses 3x4 - 1 tames paddock (12 x 18) - 2 shipyards - 2 piers along shipyards. - Small spot for farm. - 1 3x4 tame trap with slopes. - And foundation paths connecting all of that (2-3 foundations wide). ------------------ With our first base we also built a lighthouse. It's 16x16 itself (we surrounded it with 18x18 foundations and walls square). But right now I see - lighthouses are useless. You see shoreline with landscape long before lighthouse appears (so you know where to set your sails) and yet it useless in foggy weather. So it's just monstrous cosmetic feature. We won't probably build one after a wipe. Unless some smaller wooden one appears... (I mean really! It doesn't have to be Eiffel Tower size!) So it's not that big. Even with all mistakes we built our base - it's not that big. And without lighthouse and with shipyards closer to houses part - it would be more compact. And what's the best with this idea - is if there will be a companies with their small territories along shoreline there will be way more villages and castles around. PPL won't need to create monstrous gate-walls and ppl won't be hostage to foundation spam situation. --------------------- Unfortunatelly - introducing this claim system would require ALOT of DEVs work, and I'm not sure if they will be able to do it till "late march patch". (If they delay it, to introduce this system and make it work - I'll gladly wait).
  6. Oh one more issue about paint : ) With anarchy I made a pink Galley. Then I hired 32 crew for sails and guns. Then I crafted 32 hide boots, gloves, pants, waist and head for my crew (because I care about npcs and as far as they have to be on duty in Tundra, they need to wear something warmer then pajamas and bandana. I know it sound weird because they not affected by temperature but that's the way I choice to play, you not blame me for that : )) Anyway I then decided to paint their uniform in red-pink to match ship color... And I had to buy 160 red dyes. And 320 pink dyes. And then I had to apply each single dye to each single peace of clothes. 480 clicks on paint bottles. 480 applies to different "regions" in clothes menu. 480 clicks apply. Several miss-clicks. Buy several more dyes. After first 20 minutes of clicking I started to regret that. I started to feel SotD's circles serves more purpose than I do right now : ))) What I'm saying - some instrument allowing to paint crafts in the moment of creation would be gr8 : ))
  7. Lawless TUNDRA of course! I hope it will be renewed eastern tundra : )) (And yeah I hope most of players will desire to go warm place and settle there, and we will have plenty of time to find a lovely northern spot : ))
  8. The saddest thing for me is that you CAN NOT paint your ship in white colors. And there it "Forest" green color that simply doesn't work... But anyway - I found paint useful to make my village appearance a bit better (orange walls, and red roofs). Unfortunately I never saw any1 would do the same (i mean try to came up with a paint style).
  9. I've noticed if you leave your ship anchored, and then log out for a night, next day you may find your boat higher or lower then last time you saw it. This is especially noticeable if you build a pier and align it's height to boat height. Next day you might unable to jump on board, because you deck if way higher (or can not jump to a pier because you boat is lower). Sometimes your boat go so high so it start floating above the waters... Another time it goes underwater. If there is a crew onboard, they stays on same high you left them and because boat is moved, they break their head through ceiling or feet through floor. You raise your anchor and boat move back to normal position, so you can anchor it again. I'm just curious - why is this happen? Are there low and high tides here? Or it just some strange game mechanic for some purposes?
  10. As far as I can see - with huge assumptions! Like I had a horse in my trap. I went to freeport and then I back and there was no horse inside. Same for Lion somehow stucked in my 18x18 lighthouse foundation square. There is no entrance and exit from there. It's just foundations an wall. But I found lion inside a square somehow. After a while I back and saw no one...
  11. IMAO so far the best Idea is to divide the island into separate small territories. One flag per territory. Limited flags companies (one for small one and several for big ones). Then it's yours settlement. You build there. You landlord. You even can surround it by a wall with skulls and spikes (just kidding - there is no such walls in the game... well... I once saw cage on a rope and there was a skeleton inside). Sad thing about current "mark-1" game? Total loneliness. I mean I see some bases around... I see new structures appears from time to time, but in most cases there is NO players, and after 4 days I can demolish all. There were 2 times when we warned each other about alphas... but... then, no one around. And with this territory system - there is a high chance you'll have a neighbors, you'll see a life around. You will be able to help each other, make it's a friendly place and so on... what d'u think?
  12. I said this before for several times. DEVs should consider to let cannons be placed just in to gunports and introduce top deck gunports and some nose and stern ones as well. And that's it. No more ugly louvers designs, no more shotguns, no more stupid and long kiting tactics vs SotD's etc. Er-r-r-r... I build em. I play PvE and I feel absolutelly fine fighting SotD up to 40lvl with my Brig and just 6 guns in gunports and few more on the top deck. And with new ships buffs things will be even easier (with squads of damned they are also will be harder tho).
  13. There will be a chosen one lawless. : ) No rules there : ) (but because of this new system, more players head there, so I hope there will be enough space with those new islands : ))

You know what's my idea about upcoming wipe? - Right now I see and understand how to build a better base, with short pathways and big enough buildings/structures for any purposes. - Right now I see how to build best "solo" battle ships to farm SotD's up to 40 lvl (without any louvers, shotguns, roof-armor and long kiting tactics). - I have a chance to settle to a different place where... well hopefully will be more then just 4 metal spawn in WHOLE ISLAND : ) - I'll build a tames paddock where there wont be a huge rock in a center and 3 trees in doorways lol : ) I... well... I mean my first base is my first experience and my first mistakes. I lived here. Now I see how to make things better... a-a-a-a-and this one will come again in next wipe. More experience. More knowledge. So I have very optimistic look forward.
  15. Hahaha. the same. Abandon raft stays in our port for 2 months (once some foreign guy parked to our pier and then had huge problem with departure because of this raft : )). But... well, it sais in DEVs log that in future there will be a system that delete any ships if their owner don't show up in their render distance for a 3 weeks or so...
  16. We were absolutely happy in our lawless tundra piece. And wanna go lawless again. As far as I calculated... we need 6 houses around 3x4: - 1 for double blacksmith. - 1 for tannery and loom + double mortar and prestige. - 1 for our current craft projects with few smithies. - 1 tavern (it might be smaller then 3x4) - 1 storage (where we would be able to store our foreign resources, right now we have one 3x4, there are 16 big storage boxes and some of them are full) - 1 for ship construction and blueprints. + some space for farm (we have square of 8 pits, with water in the middle and it's enough for us) + tames paddock (right now it's 10 x 18 but I would spread this 10 (large gate size) to 12 so that would be 12 x 18). + 2 shipyards (small and large. This small rafts warf is not necessary). And 2 piers along shipyards (we in tundra so sometimes we need to avoid water). + one 3 x 4 trap with slope to tame wild fauna. And of course pathways among all of that - we have em 2 foundation wide, but I would make addition 1 foundation. So that's how much space our small company need (not sure if any small companies need more). I might sound really huge, but... it's actually not. Our "house part" as big as just a single lighthouse. Paddock even smaller. I was thinking of additional 18 x 18 square for lighthouse (it's 16x16 plus one block extra from each side) but... well... right now, I don't really feel any1 need one. Island with landscape appears before lighthouse, so you know where to head before you see the light. While when it's fog - lighthouse don't light through it so you anyway don't know where to head : )) Right now lighthouses are just monstrous cosmetic feature. I would be glad if there would me a small (5 x 5 for example) wooden lighthouse tho...
  17. It's still a bit wrong, because (you can see the color of islands) F3 -> J3 and F13 -> J13 are north/south central desert.
  18. Hm... that's the good point, but... well, maybe they keep current islands (perhaps just move them?). Anyway I was wondering where is that eastern tundra and where is lawless there...
  19. I know. Just wanna check if there is a place I'll go after a wipe. My idea is - if there is a big and well made base right now, ppl will probably try to settle there again. And before that - I need to make sure, that the place is EASTERN TUNDRA. That's why I here.
  20. Um. I'm not getting it about PVE claim systems. - Will there be just freeports and grids for flag claiming? (no more lawless?) - If I find and island and be first to put flag there - I'm then owner of this island (will pay taxes etc)? (like hell I need that?) - If I build my base without any flags and then some1 settle to the island and put his flag - does it means I'll became part of his territory and will get all limitations he decide to make etc? OR... as it was mentioned in LOG-22 Lawless will be continue to exists, just with buildings decay rates?
  21. When we saw renewed Tundra's pics we decided to settle there after a wipe. For the first time we settled in the I2 grid. It would be gr8 to settle there again but... Despite the fact that It's EAST of CENTRAL "H" column, Atlas wiki map shows this region as "central tundra" (it shows I3 as tundra as well while it's north desert freeport tho). But If I press "H"-button in a game (while at my base) - it sais I'm still in WESTERN TUNDRA. I decided to do some scout mission (to see if there is some lovely place there) and went to L2. It's just 4 grid from EASTERN BORDER. I found nice bay, then press "H" button and... Yup - it sais, I'm still in WESTERN TUNDRA... So... is this UI bug? Is there an information where to find and EASTERN TUNDRA... or maybe some info what grids will be renewed?
  22. PVE is not just about building and trading. It's also about huge and epic battles by most powerful ships and strong firepower. It's just not against players, but against damned armies, damned/ghost ships, and mythical creatures.
  23. Am-m-m-m... there is no groups in a game right now. Just companies and alliances. You go in your own. You might go near any other players but yet - you just go solo. DEVs should consider to make a group and looking for group features in this game. So players would be able to form a fleet and go some group adventures. I would say - right now it's locked behind EA stuff, because once we gathered for Kraken. But because of HUGE LAGGS it took us for an hour to get from grid where we gathered to neighbor grid where Kraken is. And after that - it turned out that if someone with 8 powerstones in the H8 (even near border), anyone can sail to the center and summon a Kraken. Imagine how happy trolls were? They had fun as they could, summoning Kraken and stay alive inside of battle circle as long as they could. Then summon him again.
  24. There is accommodation stat you increasing while ship leveling up. I greatly speeds up repairment.
