  1. If there will be some map changes, I hope they do some beta-tests so we could at least get along with changes and check for spots to settle...
  2. All resources related info is here: http://atlas.antihax.net/ (You can type resources name in search and red dots will show you islands for that). Ironwood is missing (it appears at warehouse if you establish trading tho). The only problem - it brings information with a little dellay after map changes (witch possible might happen in a week... I mean devs told they wanna different maps with different biomes, accessible by some warp mechanics...).
  3. Some says that there was a guy, who introduced generic ships, but then he left Atlas project and took all code and knowledge with him. Because of that, no one from current team knows how those ships were coded and how do they works. That's why there are no longer old design ships released, and never will.
  4. Ahh. Ok. I'm ready to jump in once again. Looking forward to see what you brings.
  5. Ship is the same cost as Majestic Kraken, but have more cannons : )) Why do we need Majestic Kraken then? : ))
  6. Well, New World is 2 days from here. Then most of playerbase who stay here will consist of "bear breeders" and "minecraft castle contructors" I guess...
  7. Did you try to replace default sails with large sail? Because It's possible that devs changed things so you can't set large sail there, like they did it on turtle ship.
  8. 38 - New Hammer and old graphic. Just noticed - when you wear new armor fixing hammer, it show old wooden hammer in your menu slot. I actually kinda don't like all these tools graphic attached to pathfinder. It just doesn't look cool.
  9. And little update about ship's maintenance. - Parked and anchored ship bein repaired by crew. But only usual HP of parts is restored. Armor requires manual maintenance. - I was able to repair armor out of advanced shipyard. - It turned out each "armor patch kit" repairs way more than 1K. In fact. Single hit of advanced hammer bring armor from 12400 to 15600. So it's a bit cheaper than I expected (but with 2 types of patches - still most expensive ship in terms of maintenance).
  10. Every time I log in, my Turtle Ship disappears from advanced shipyard. To make it buildable again, I have to destroy and build another advanced shipyard. Also it shows -1/300 in stock. Crew manning sails are weird (and it's just regular sail, not junk cosmetic which I don't even dare to set lol). Some thoughts about PVP... this Turtle Ship will just be annihilated by any Mortar Ship, because of speed and striking distance. In fact, facing Mortar Ship, this Turtle ship wont be able to land a single hit, to chase it or to run away. If Turtle Ship engage Mortar Ship one on one, it then just doomed : ))
  11. Alright. Let's check some more screenshots. I couldn't make smoke screen working. I put 100 coal to figurehead (you can put it from front door in upper deck), press shift+z and nothing happened. I've tried both shifts, ctrl, ctrl+shift etc. Then I found my 100 coal is gone. I then put there 500 coal. But no matter how I tried - it still 500 in figurehead. I put in to the ship: 1 - Bed 2 - Mess table 3 - Small box 4 - Large box 5 - Ammunition box 6 - Grille 7 - Resource box 8 - Barrel... Then I reach my custom object limit. No lanterns, to stairs to crownests etc. When I said this is slowest ship ever - check this picture. I've already put like 18 points in to weight and It up my speed to 6.50 knots downwind. Fighting with damned ships is... well... no dancing, no kiting. The only option here is just stop, tank, and shoot. The most broken thing in this ship is gunports. Like back-top gunports have double doors graphic. You can open one door by pressing "R" from steering wheel to open all gunports, and then, you can approach gunport and open another door yourself. Second manual door doesn't affect shooting, your cannons just stick our through them. One more thing. When you crew manning both rear cannons, they block your only entrance to the ship. They just push you aside and to the ocean while you trying to enter your ship. Another broken gunports issue. Some cannons doesn't move out when you open your gunport. It just stays inside the ship, and doesn't shoot. This happens with both right cannons in front and back, and also with front right cannon in the low deck. So basically you've got just 1 cannon front and back and 7 cannons aside. One more thing. When I was fighting damned ship, I used Rally and Overdrive at the same time. I made one manual shoot, my crew reloaded cannons fast, but instead of making another shoot they just dropped all their cannon stations. Wtf??? Armor is working really well. It gives you extremely good protection from low level damned ship. I tanked 4 lvl-9 damned brigs and got my armor down to 12000-15000. With defense stats It'll bring really good protection. I'll try to test this one later. Stay tuned.
  12. You know... I still feel that this Atlas being developed on leftover basis. It's like they have around 35 ppl overall in company, they do ARK-II, they work enthusiastically there. And then, once in 1-2 days, one or two developers open Atlas project and do something there within couple of hours. I was 3D developer long ago, I was creating Russian trains for TainZ game in 3D studio Max, and It took me the same time to introduce my new projects, as they do this modular ships. I was working alone and using my free time, after university and some homework. It's not DEVs bad, or something. It's just they don't wanna to. They do more interesting and more important projects. Atlas is more like burden project for them. They don't have time to love it, to feel excited about it, to share their feelings. Even each patch notes - they are ve-e-e-ery formal with copy-paste text like: Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, and will be there for next 10-15 years... I mean I would be glad if I wrong here, I just saying my feelings.
  13. Other threads are here: Ramming Galley Majestic Kraken Mortar Ship Just few words before I start. Well... you know. After I've got this ship I... was kinda got that this WONT be a sailing game of my dream. I was thinking about something like Pirates of Caribbean, piracy and sailing age romance and all that king of stuff. I've enjoyed old Russian "Corsairs" game so much back of the days. And I was dreaming about getting modern MMO game like this. But with all 4 modular ships I can clearly see - it's just gonna go totally different style. More like fantasy world, with orcs and elves, dragons, magic etc. Not what I wish for. So... this season probably be my last one here. I've enjoyed the game, especially at the beginning, with all survival and exploration stuff, but... I just don't wanna THIS. I wish to ride some fast Caravelle or Corvette ship, to serve some fraction, hunt pirates, escort trade expedition, explore the world... or... to be a pirate. Not just pick sausage-like ship called turtle, and fight disco-rave damned ship with jet engines... It's nothing wrong with this concept. It's just I don't want it... I'll test Turtle ship anyway. Oh and my advanced shipyard didn't have this ship in menu. I had to remove this shipyard and build the same one. Only after that I've got turtle ship icon there. Basics It's same wide as schooner (wider ships just won't fit advanced shipyard) and twice longer. It has... you wait for it: - 4500 basic weight. With no sails - you'll get your empty ship 92.5% loaded. If you put crew there, it'll just sink. It has 4.0 sails points and your only option in the beginning is to put weight sails. It has 2 small and 1 mid weight sails by default and It gives you 9000 basic weight (around 40% of ship load). YOU CAN NOT PUT THERE A LARGE SAIL. Because this ship is just not allows you to do so. It shows "no snap point" message. So in the beginning your best option will be to put there 2 mid weight sails. It'll give you 9750 basic weight. Then If you wanna do faster setup, you'll have to spend like 20 points to weight, and replace weightsails with speed sails. - Empty ship with 2 mid weight sails brings you 5-6 knots full speed. You wanna sail half atlas? Prepare to waste 5-6 hours for that. The slowest ship ever. - It has 24 crew capacity. With 20 cannons 3 default sails and you - it has all your basics needs. RAW Stuff It's not just small hole for ladder between decks. Here the ladder is moved a bit, so you have to jump if you go up. Basic masts graphic is like that. But if you replace sails, all goes to normal. Paint... errr... just don't paint it. Hitbox feels weird. It can't handle shallow waters same as mortar ship, but I sail through pier and pillars like there is nothing there: Steering wheel in low deck. Masts in upper deck. So manual sails control is tricky. But here you also protected from cold weather and tornadoes. Gunports. Alright. By default this ship has: 20 cannons (8 each side. 2 in front pointing forward. 2 in back pointing backward). 32 gunports (12 each side. 4 in front pointing forward. 4 in back pointing backward). So we have 12 gunports without cannons. Unfortunately you can't equip empty gunports, because cannon replacement still broken. Now. We can't do anything with gunports in front and real castles. But those 16 gunports on board sides, can be turned to: - up to 16 double gunports (which increases amount of gunports up to 48 but amount of cannons up to 36. 16 each side and 2 front and back). - up to 16 oar modules. - up to 16 regular planks. But with all those options, those parts will loose their armor. Only single cannon gunport brings armor to itself here. Also this spiked shell roof count as "railing" but you can't replace this one with railing modules like catapult or so... Armor. Most of default part has armor stat on them. - Castles has 10 000 hp and 15 600 armor. - Gunports has 7500 hp and 15 600 armor. - Railing has 5000 hp and 15 600 armor. You can fix usual HP with patches. You can fix armor only in your advanced shipyard (you need to move your ship there), with green anchored stat, using special hammer and armor patches. Armor patch cost the same as usual but instead of wood you need to use metall. Usual patch requires 100 fib + 120 thch + 200 wood. Armor patch requires 100 fib + 120 thch + 200 metall. Imagine your ship have all parts to 0 hp and all armor to 0 as well (and it didn't sink for some reason). To repair them all with patches you'll need overall: - 53 500 fibers. - 64 200 thatches. - 32 000 wood. - 75 000 metall. So this ship is most expensive ship in terms of maintenance. There is a hint there tho. Instead of repairing board side modules you can just replace them with new one. Each costs just 20+40+60 wood+thtch+fib and it'll brings you full repaired parts : )) I'll continue this thread later. I'll move it to open seas and see what my adventure brings. But... well, it's gonna be a bit difficult for me. I just don't have any inspiration to do so... Stay tuned anyway.
  14. Devs told once that there will be "big summer update". Also they told recently that they wanna change map, so it will be with portals-maelstroms and different biome regions. My guessing - with one of these updates (or maybe it will be the same single update) there will be a wipe. If they keep their promise and release "Summer update" in actual summer it gonna happen within next 4 weeks, but... well. With current development state and speed this "Summer update" might happen somewhere in November...
  15. Guys... you told that you wanna make best PvP game ever... well. I'm playing closed New World beta from Amazon and it feels they already did exactly THAT! 3 fractions. Territories capturing. Improvement stuff and raises defenses on captured territories. Storming the castles. Declaring wars. Massive sieges. I mean... I never saw PVP like that in any MMO. It's not like open world ganking, griefing and some battlegrounds for ratings. It's whole new level! So... I don't know how you plan to conquer that. When the game be released in August 31 (if they won't delay it again), players will get their best PVP MMO. If they gonna improve that... players will get their best PVP MMO for long time. So... I mean I really enjoyed playing ATLAS and wish you the best, but... maybe you reconsider to turn your game to adventure sail ships / pirates MMO instead... I mean this is up to you, but, I really feel you'll loose most of your active PVP players when New World will be released, and only happy farmers who wanna play Sims-2 and breeding bears will stay...
  16. I wrote the way here. Basically you approach treasure map, inside of some1's building. When you approach it there it distance threshold somewhere around 500 meters from this treasure spot. Sever remember all what's happening around the moment you cross this threshold. Then, when you approach treasure spawn point in someone's building, instead of AOTD spawning, sever just stops for like 5 minutes, throwing every1 there offline. And then rewind everything to the moment you crossed threshold. That's how their bugfix related to AOTD spawning inside buildings works. Most epic bugfix ever, lol. But... last summer bugfix, they mentioned again that AOTD no more spawning inside buildings. Maybe they fixed this mess?
  17. Hahaha, I wasted 132k gold this season to test totally useless, raw and unplayable in PVE ships! Some of them can barely survive a battle vs green damned ship. Majestic Kraken on the other side - can't stand against a single green damned galleon volley lol : )) That's how...
  18. Alright. Little update of this Mortar Ship. Speed. With current patch and got sail point to just 3 - ship became extremely slow. Default setup brings you just 7.5 knots full speed, so our only option here now is to place a single large sail, to up it to at least 10 knots. Which is SLOWER than sloop. So right now mortar ship is the slowest ship in the game. Rowing. You can create oar modules and replace gunports with them. They are not paintable, and I didn't find a way to bring gunports back. I've tried to demolish them, but this button does nothing but making disappear itself. Placing them from one side is bad idea, because when you try to row - I'll brings only 1 knot extra and make your ship turn every row it make. While all 4 oar modules brings you 2.5 extra knots while active (same action with Ramming Galley brings 4.5 extra knots). More RAW stuff. DEVs forgot to add name plate. So letters just float in the air. Steering wheel is also floating. And tall guy is too tall for this sh*t : ))) Oh and check this damage graphic from inside of rear castle : )) So instead of making some debris, create holes etc., enemy's cannonballs just undo the window and setup wood beam.
  19. Guys. You again messing with numbers and totally don't think of result! C'mon! Basically what you did here is dramatically slowed this ship down. Empty ship with mid/small speed sail setup gives you just 7.5 knots strong downwind. Our only option here now is to use 1 large sail, that brings us 10 knots maximum. So you made this ship the SLOWEST SHIP in the game. And with your turning mechanics - this ship also got reduced maneuverability, making it less suitable for naval combats. Why... Oh and we still can not replace cannons in gunports. Now they're pointing backwards.
  20. I for some reason feel that new wipe is not far. And it'll bring yet new type of map (with different biome regions) so we'll have to learn map again : ))
  21. Those X-rates are insane. Went for 12 treasure maps (from lvl-7 to couple of lvl-22) and brought home like 50K gold. Waiting for Turtle Ship (should we gather 200 turtle shells for that?) to test and then... well. My season will be over, unless they fix and improve modular ships and make them playable (I don't expect Turtle Ship will be any different from other 3 lol).
  22. I wanna add one issue I noticed when 1st Ramming Galley appeared. But with current Mortar Ship, that survived 10 times more battles it caught my eyes most. This one will be without a picture. Sinking time of modular ships is NOT STABLE. I don't fully understand how does it work, but it seems to me, it all depends on this small ship HP icon at bottom right. For example. You've got your overall ship more than 90% hp. You've got your rear castle leaking. Your ship will sink in like 30 seconds. You've got your overall ship around 70% hp. You've got the same rear castle leaking. Your ship will sink in like 5 seconds. If it really working this way - it made terribly wrong. Because in this situation we'll have to waste alot of patches for like 200hp repairs (making modular ships even more expensive), and it making this ship more vulnerable every cannonball it receive. In terms of damned ships fighting, all modular ships are extremely weak, and most of all - they can not TANK. When you playing with your friends, mortar ship might be good SotDs destroyer. Just kite them and let your friend do all mortar works. But if you wanna play cool fun boardside battle, then BRIG is still your only choice.
  23. Yeah. And with couple gunports hp hit zero - it sinking in 3 seconds. This ship just simply not suitable for naval combats. Do not buy it for this kind of activities. I mentioned it here.
  24. Hey DEVs, I just wanna again point you to my modular ships feedback. As far as you goin this course, you may wanna hear all we gather related to your new creations. RAMMING GALLEY MAJESTIC KRAKEN MORTAR SHIP Those ships are hell full of problems, bugs, etc. and just unplayable in current state. The most problems are (besides raw design, disappearing paint etc). All ships has crew leaving their sails stations after each cross. All ships has broken cannon replacement. New cannons placed pointing forward and unusable. All ships has only emergency stern ladder. All ships extremely expensive in maintenance (one patch is like 9 times more expensive in resources than regular repairment of generic ships I mentioned that here). Front and back parts of modular ships are 3 times less durable than generic ships, and we can increase sturdiness of generic ships with better bps to be 4.5 times more durable. And rope ladders (to masts and crownests) count as "objects" in the ship and overflood hard object limits that can be placed on ships. Also Ramming Galley doesn't ram damned ships, front cannons doesn't manually aim. Majestic Kraken has tentacles cosmetic that push you back to the ocean from stern ladder. It has manual aim missing at all! It has broken gunports hit area, can't stand against single damned galleon volley and when gunports hit 0hp sinking in 3 seconds (which make this ship not suitable for naval combats) Mortar Ship has huge hitbox that is way bigger than visual model. We can only replace sails so they BLOCK ladder and door to front castle. Mortars are not useable by crew (back one even doesn't belong any ship groups and not adjustable), just for manual use only (crew doesn't shoot or even reload mortars). Also while ship swing on waves game constantly changes your state to inside building and then outside.
