  1. I love how the devs did ship building with Worlds Adrift, different types of metal and wood give different stats and textures to ships you are building. This would give the ships of Atlas some much needed variety.
  2. I would like to suggest a system for declaring war and entering into treaties between companies. These could be used for making declarations such as declaring war on another company which could make the enemy company's claims, ships, and crew have different colored tags or something. It could also be used to provide a buff or benefit of some kind to promote ship to ship battle if it were a system where both parties agreed to the war declaration. An example would be to make enemy shipwrecks out in the open ocean provide 100% of the materials when salvaged, or allow the claiming of enemy crew or tames when at war. In a system where both parties agreed on the war declaration, it could even be used on the PvE servers to spice things up a bit without ruining it for those not interested in conflict. A new war system in PvE would increase the need for supplies and bring about a new need for trade where the role playing community could supply materials for war and watch their efforts brought to bear against others, all while remaining untouchable and safe. Declarations could also require a specific outcome to be invalidated, such as a treaty granting them ownership of ships, claims, tames, crew, gold, etc. This type of system would bring much needed meaning to the game. Players in companies actively engaged in war would be much more likely to log in and play as well. Another use for declarations would be to declare an embargo or boycott against another company, so their members and possibly alliance members would be able to see the declaration. Treaties themselves could take on much meaning as well, such as for the trade of one commodity for another. A treaty could be signed between two companies to exchange a ship or land for gold, etc. They could also be used when the commodity is to cumbersome to trade all at once, such as trading 100,000 darkwood, and the treaty wont be fulfilled and paid until all the necessary goods have been deposited at the buyers tax bank or something. There are many uses for a system like this, and it would be able to grow and mature with the game. If the developers would simply entertain the idea, I'm sure the community could come up with some extremely suggestions on how a system could be implemented.
  3. You can find several of the passive whales in the 1,2,14, and 15 regions. Last night I also was chased by about 10 of the giant aggressive whales while sailing north through those same regions, so have to be alert.
  4. The bug did return at one point after dying again in the same region, but I just logged out and back in and it went away again. I have since sailed to other regions and have not had the bug return after several sessions and re-spawns.
  5. We will be below 10k within the next week if they don't drop the new content before then.
  6. Okay, from what I read online, it has something to do with the server hosts changing IP addresses for the official servers, and then Battle Eye freaks out and keeps kicking you and wont allow you to interact with the database (so you cant access anything). If you open the tribe log, kicked...access skills, kicked...etc. You also get kicked every three or four minutes just for good measure and to test your patience, but if you kill yourself before then, you can fix it. First, kill yourself, but you wont be able to re-spawn at any beds, so just press escape and return to the main menu, then log back in. Now, you have to either choose new character or change home server. When I clicked change home server and spawned in a different region, it fixed everything for me and I was able to access the beds and inventories again. You may not have to exit and re-log like I did, but that was the process I used and it worked. Hope this helps!

  8. Yeah, Battle Eye kicking me as well for some reason. After a couple minutes it says "Client not responding". Trying all the tricks now to see if I can find a solution.
  9. If you are referencing the "Top Companies" ranking, there are several suggestions on possible improvements in the suggestions forum including one I wrote. I agree that it is in need of improvement.
  10. Weak mentally? Because we have a different idea about what we would like to see in the game? Come on man, argue on the issues and don't devolve to personal insults, it reflects negatively on your character.
  11. Vorxius, those of us who played Ark are all too familiar with what happens when you move a platform of any kind with logged out players aboard. The easy answer is yes, you need to stow all of your inventory if you are logging off on any type of moving platform. We usually use personalized boxes or creatures where you can easily "transfer all" with your inventory and gear when logging off, and then we kill ourselves. This also prevents someone from locking you in a room or cage if they get to your body while you are offline.
  12. It's comical that the OP never complained about getting raided, only that he wants others to have to work for it instead of the info being handed to them like some sort of digital welfare. Then we get all of these "intellectuals" who clearly lacked the ability to understand the original post and begin bashing him for "whining about getting raided". I agree with the OP, I'm tired of using the steam name 123 so that I am on equal terms with my enemies, I'm tired of sorting through the sea of 123's in my friends list trying to figure out who is who. This isn't going to change, and I finished complaining about it long ago, but that doesn't change the fact that it sucks and that someone tracking you like this IRL would be grounds for quite the lawsuit. In short, the OP is correct, use the Steam name "123" or realize people will track you on Battlemetrics.
  13. Sometimes backing up doesn't work for me. I have found that you have to lower the sails a little (go forward) and then press "S" again to stop and back-up when that happens. Also, I'm not sure if this works without crew mounted on the sails? I often back my brigs into my docks at night when I log off, so I know it works.
  14. So we had a little one on one with an enemy ship tonight, and as it was sinking, the captain managed to jump aboard our ship and start attacking us. We shot him with what must've been 150 arrows, and he was shooting at us with arrows as well but we never saw any damage indicators or numbers. Finally, he just stopped running and stood still and began to talk to us, we all ran up to him and just kept plugging him with arrows but could not kill him even though he was standing still? He never did any damage to us either although he did injure one of our tames. We are now wondering if arrows don't damage other players in lawless while on ships or what is to blame for us not being able to do damage to him?
  15. Yeah, happened to me with this latest update. I logged out and let one of my mates drag me out of the ceiling I was stuck in. Not sure if he just dragged me or used a grapple, but he got me out right away.
  16. I would like to suggest taking a look at using something like Eve's killboards for company ratings. Maybe combine ship kill/loss ratio with tons of cargo hauled or gold earned at market or something. My company members and I feel this would be a better measure of which companies are truly superior. For the kill/loss ratio, you could use the number of planks on a ship, ship type, or cannons or something to assign a value to each kill or loss. By combining kill/loss with some measurement of trade, companies who are good at transporting and selling goods would be able to compete with the heavyweight pvp companies for the top slots as they should be able to. This would also place more of an emphasis on trade as well. Implementing an API system such as Eve's would also allow third party devs to create interesting sites to display and rank players and companies alike as well as possibly offer occasional prizes or events. As a whole, this would likely offer new goals and content to players and companies thus benefiting the entire community.
  17. Now for those who are going to start preaching that there isn't anything wrong with the game, I understand that there is nothing wrong with the current state of game play for large companies with a large player base. I am addressing the game for the other half of the player base that are in small companies or solo. The game needs both groups unless it is to become a niche game that gets more or less abandoned by its devs. That being said, I enjoy Atlas and hope to play the game for as long as I played Ark...but it just wont happen without big changes. Rex is correct, I have also been watching the charts every day and watched our lawless island turn into an abandoned wasteland that we slowly took over with our small company. At this point, we have now moved into claimed land, but we feel we have experienced everything we can without joining a large company. The game has become stale, we still lose bases and ships on a daily basis that we have to replace each night because there just isn't any good way for a small company to defend them. Farming the same structures and ships every night gets boring quick. Stopping at islands for resources not available in our region usually ends with us being attacked and sunk since we have no name recognition or powerful allies. Most foreign resources we need aren't available in Freeports since there are only generic resources there, so we just do without. Something like buffing puckle guns so they have a much larger range of fire and the strength of stone structures would help us defend what we have at least. It just isn't reasonable for a defense tower to require something like 12 puckle guns and 10 cannons for 360* coverage when it takes a three man company several days to build it and only one troll a day to farm the materials and tear it down. I have played Ark Prim+, no tame, hardcore, etc. I love difficult game play that requires strategy, but this is just bordering on impossible for small companies unless you want to live like a roach under a rock and not experience most of what the game has to offer.
  18. Personally, I wish there was more to do at sea and that the ships were slower. It would be cool if they grouped islands together more and they made the distances between biomes much greater.
  19. Yes, I don't know if it is because the forge is being de-rendered or what, but I have been having the same issue.
  20. They just made the structure problem even worse. Instead of two layers of stone for our outer walls, we're now doing four layers of wood. And people on our island thought that the lag was bad before, its getting even worse now!
  21. In Eve, the local trading promoted real trading and movement of goods between regions. It created yet another way for people to make money as the powerful and wealthy would rather pay reputable shippers to transport the goods they want from far away zones. If this is anything like it was in Eve, it is going to really introduce an awesome new aspect to the game.
  22. I think the OP has a very good suggestion, and if nothing else, is a great starting point that would be better than the system we have now. Unlike Ark, it is just too easy to die and re-spawn when you are always operating off of a nearby ship or base instead of flying around on a bird with no place to spawn. I will usually make an attempt to maintain my vitamins, but with how fast the food spoils and the heat waves, it is just far too easy to die and re-spawn with fresh stats.
  23. Maybe an hour delay before decay begins so that we don't feel like we need to repair every time we visit before we go to sea again?
  24. Yeah, I believe the studio is based in the UK where there is no First Amendment and racism is whatever whoever is in charge says it is. Not that it applies in this case anyways. A business owner can and should have the power to control the content on their own servers. However, I don't see why they are banning people for racism but not all of the swearing and religious bigotry? Where is all this fairness and equality I keep hearing the snowflakes preach about? They should ban everyone who offends anyone else, right? That would be really educational! I'm not condoning racism by any means, as I believe ALL are created equal, but I sure as hell wont condone silencing anyone either...I'm a big enough boy to handle it. If you live in the US, just be glad you have have the freedom to say whatever you want, for now at least.
  25. In its current state, fishing is a useless mechanic unless you're just afraid to get in the water. You get more meat with a hatchet, and you can easily kill a fish with a pike or bow. I made a couple fishing rods, but after a single day we threw them all out after realizing they were nothing but a waste. And, no, we never got anything from fishing except small amounts of fish meat.
