  1. It's a common steamcmd error, reinstall steamcmd fixed it for my ark servers when I had it.
  2. I'd say you currently are hosting nothing ... ^^ 1 redis for both, 1 needs to point to the other servers IP for the redis entries, in the json. I'm not sure how it works with the home server needed, easiest is just to experiment with a 5x5 empty map and fly around on an admin account crossing server boundaries I guess.
  3. Admin commands set on server 1 do not always? carry over to server 2. When I admin fly over a server boundary, I have to re-do the command. I think for example god as well. I've had issues with forcetame on all my servers, it is difficult to 'hit' some monsters I guess. I think there's an allowed cheater IDs .txt in the main folder, maybe that needs to go into the saved folders as well. Though it does see my admin status on all servers because fly works for example.
  4. To run my 3x2, I need ~30 to 35gb ram, and it eats 50 to 60% of a modern 4 core CPU. You're looking at 1 to 2 servers per 2 to 3ghz per core, mileage will vary based on CPU of course. and 4 to 6gb ram, per server. Going from there, to run a 5x5 you're looking at 25 servers; so ideally 12 to 24 cores + 25 * 6 gb ram. So with that you're going into (dual) CPU and high ram server hardware territory. So ram wise alone you need 150gb, whereas 200gb probably is more on the safe side as stuff spills over the 4 to 6gb as times goes on.
  5. rcon Commands SaveWorld DoExit not sure what the autosave interval is, but I always do saveworld before killing em
  6. Yes from the below forum thread here, you have to add this to defaultengine.ini (this populates engine.ini when starting, do not bother putting it there in saved games) /Script/OnlineSubsystemUtils.IpNetDriver]NetServerMaxTickRate=20 Change 20 to 15, you can go lower even, but I am not sure of the effects on (many) players connected. https://www.playatlas.com/index.php?/forums/topic/11703-cpu-usage/
  7. I'm pretty sure communication is done on IP basis, and the server is not going to (or capable) to translate a hostname in a json to a valid ip ... Why would you not enter an IP there? Or are you using multiple systems, and thus, IPs?
  8. Setting the tickrate from 20 to 15 on my 2x3 reduced CPU from 60-70% to 30-45% , big improvement. There's about 10-15 people on, max.
  9. 6 cores are going to struggle with 9 servers. It probably will, but under a constant high load. Not sure if you set tickrate to 15 tho, need to test that tonight myself.
  10. Did you generate a NEW map, or edited your existing one? If editing existing one, confirm in a text editor, preferably one with syntax highlighting, that the servers are there and in order. Reinstalling atlas or redis is pointless, though you should probably flush the redis db. Server grid is managed in the json files. Are you using a manager? Can you ping the server on the ports (or simply, does it show online on for example atlasservers or battlemetrics?)
  11. 3x4 = 12 12 * 6 gb = you're short. Instances use between 4 - 6 gb. I've seen spikes above 6. and your OS needs RAM too. Maybe even shared video? (if you have a dedicated gfx in there it may be cheaper to rent a server vs. electronics bill anyways lol) CPU wise my 2x3 runs between 60 and 80% on a true 4 core, so you can expect the same on your 8 core with double the amount of servers. Network wise it's pretty meh, I can pull my full 200mbit download, torrent and watch netflix and noone on the server notices any lag. It's really low. Anything above 5mbit should suffice.
