Remember my whole crew went up in arms against me, all of them but two mutinied and I was pissed, whatever happened to all for one and one for all, I was so tempted to shoot the two remaining for the simple fact they didn’t follow suit with the rest of the crew, lazy bastards. I fed them, paid them and clothed them, what more could you ask for ? I’ll tell you this much, if I ever see that bunch of clowns again it’s going to be off with their heads or a blimey curse upon them one. The tames I’ll miss and hopefully get them back once again especially my black and orange tiger I had. I’ve never had more loyal companions, though a few may have jumped ship but I really believe it was a giant sea monster I couldn’t see and they were only giving their life to save my own.

Well if you really want me opinion I blame it on the new claim system, the RNG Gods are trying to tell them it’s going to fail and giving them a chance to rewrite the code. I am so evil

It seems to me from the Captains Log or patch notes, once the bank is setup all mats gathered on the island will be used to maintain the upkeep cost of the claim flag, however a person may directly place materials into the bank if it will be short on having enough to keep the upkeep on the claim flag, something about a notification letting you know as well. If the claim flag expires and a new owner takes over, the claim flag does not grant ownership to structures. That’s a plus !

The only reason I even mentioned it was because I went to look and see if I could find the thread but couldn’t locate a user by Dollie and did some more digging and found Rock posting in the atlas news, checked it out and it was Dollie. What’s throwing me off is in discord Dollie goes by Rock, not Dollie, so it kinda makes me think this was fabricated.

It’s been delayed again, possibly Friday for the PTR

You know they added into the game some time back that people could allow others to build on their claims, those that left the game didn’t leave because they couldn’t find a place to build, they left because they couldn’t own their own land. Nothing is changing.

Hey look at it this way, if it gets pushed back again that will be the weekend when most people are able to play, instead of through the week when a lot of people have to work.

At least they believe in quality and they have a plan

Public Test Realm (Test Live) This update, including the war system and claim changes, will be making its way to our Public Test Realm before it hits the entire Official Network and will be accessible for all players for both PvP and PvE. It is anticipated that Test Live will be available to play around the 20th of March and we will keep you posted should there be any more updates as the time approaches.  i know there is more more mentions of PvE and PvP PTR’s, this one here is kinda saying it will be available to both pvp and pve players, not that it will be separate.

In relation to our Public Testing Realm overall, we’re planning to get multiple smaller clusters online which will incorporate the three game modes as well as everything else listed in the patch notes. Players can expect higher rates to facilitate fast progression and testing of the new systems along with the fact these servers are likely to wipe as needed.

PvE Mode: ATLAS: PvE This game mode will be spooling up with changes and the system will be based upon details discussed in the last Captain’s Log. We will monitor our PvE mode in the PTR and beyond and continue to iterate on it as we move forward. Islands are given a rank based on their location, size and how valuable they are. These rankings will be used to determine upkeep, as well as identify the Top 10 Companies which will be a sum of all the islands that Company has claimed. this is from the captains log

Last I heard it was scheduled for the 11th, from what I can tell, plan on the wipe 1 week after the PTR comes up, then you can probably give yourself a extra week then due to the sheer delays they have.

Going on where we are at with QA at the moment, I think the PTR will be up either late tonight or in the early hours of Friday morning. Please don't wait up. I really just can't stand people, they make me sick I purchased the game and I have played many a many MMORPG's and I've mostly played on my own but may join a group for raids or group events. I've been in guilds, clans, communities and made some good friends along the way, I am one of the 1st to offer help to someone but almost rarely ever ask for it reguardless of what it requires I'll either figure out a way on my own or wait to get with people who are already doing it. People think because a game says it's a MMORPG that you automatically have to join a party to be able to do the content, I've never understood why people feel like that. The letters MMORPG doesn't stand for " if you play this game then you are required to join or create a company, guild, clan, community or tribe" It simply means that its a Massive Multiplayer Game, in other words it's online game that a lot of other people will be playing along with you. Now I've heard this crap about why don't you just go rent a unoffical server and play by yourself so much that I'm beginning to think everyone who says it has brown eyes because they are so full of shit it's beginning to run out their ears. If I had a group of friends who stayed together, switched games together and pretty much relied on each other then I may consider going to a unoffical server so we could play without having to deal with anyone else but since I don't have many friends, none that I'm so committed to that I switch games every time they do or when they say jump I"m in the air asking how high.... well no that's not me !!!! I'm a independent person who doesn't depend on anyone, I have a wife and kids and I work as a welder so my whole life is based around my family and my job. I play multiplayer games to meet new people and develop friendships that may or may not last, truthfully I've never lost no sleep because I made someone mad and they unfriended me, I have however lost sleep because I've stayed up well past time to be in bed to help friends out in a raid and suffered for it the next day but it was ok because it made them happy. I've learned that there are 3 kinds of people in this world we live in - Leaders, Followers and solo players, now don't get me wrong, there are good leaders and bad ones and followers just do whatever the person in front of them is doing but the solo player, now that is the one to watch, that person right there is the one who can think for themselves and will always find a way to survive.. You take a company and knock the leader out, the person who is making the calls and the followers run around like a chicken with its head cut off.. "what do I do, what do I do, should I do this or should I do that.. I'm just not sure what to do" . Now there is nothing wrong playing the game however you like to play it, I don't bash on you for being part of a company or being a company leader, I don't make suggestions to you to go play a different game or play on a private server, no I wouldn't do that because I have more respect for you then that because you have a brain and you are able to think for yourself at least I hope.. I'm guessing you've moved out of yoru parents house and are being a successful contribution to this messed up world we live but hey who knows.. you may be 30 years old living in your parents house and you may believe that is the way everyone lives, you walk around with your chest sticking out banging on it like King Kong... yelling at the top of your lungs " Look at me ma, I'm on top of the world" the sad part is you may actually believe it too.. You have not been reading to many threads is all I can say. There are quite a few people who have already quit the game from just the announcement of the wipe and others who are waiting to see what happens after the wipe. I personally don’t want it but I enjoy the game so I am not quitting because of it. There are pros and cons to it and it all boils down to which ways heavier on you as to what your opinion is. I myself fought through the bull crap in the beginning and worked my ass off to gain a claim, I built ships and a base with taming pens, dealt with the FOY bs and worked on discovery points, as a solo player who is limited to the amount of time I can play losing all that really hit a nerve. Kinda felt like writing a 4000 page book, saving it on your hard drive only to have it crash and erase everything. I know with what the patch is bringing the wipe is required and having that much more content will be nice but it still sucks for me to start over.

If you go back and re-read it looks like they have contradicted a lot of previous statements.

With the Mega March update, the claim systems on PvE will change from being lawless-esque servers to the following: Use the same claim system as PvP, but remove the raidable hours and war aspect. This means that players will be able to claim islands, and anyone can build on those settlements. Each settlement will have an upkeep cost which is based on a variety of factors such as the islands ranking, the number of settlements that company has, and how many different companies are building on the settlement. Settlement owners will be able to set a tax rate, and also players will be able to place their player run shops on the claimed land. However, we are planning some PvE specific changes We’ll be imposing a hard limit of Claim Points equivalent to one small island for single players. Companies will be able to own multiple settlements, but there will be a hard limit (lower than PvP) and it will be based on Island Points and the number of players who are currently in that company. This means that larger companies will have access to more ‘Claim Points’ and are therefore able to settle on more islands with higher rankings, however, we will still be imposing a relatively low cap. Company alliances will no longer be enabled on PvE servers. We understand that there are some legitimate use cases, however, in this sandbox environment, we believe they will primarily be used to game the system and get past company rules/limitations. We recognize that this mayimpact how trading communication takes place on PvE servers and we are looking into an alternative option for players.

Yeah, the competition to own the most land encourage people to spam flags to get a higher ranking, the sad part is they are going back to the same system and I just can’t understand it.

Hasn’t the whole game been a PTR server thus far ? He is probably in a polar region, wood was scarce in some areas

Lawless Servers Will continue to operate like normal, no islands on these servers can be claimed. Reduced structure placement rules Damage decay added over time on all structures PvE Network No claim flags Damage decay overtime added to all structures A new auto-repair structure which players will need to upkeep to prevent structures from being destroyed by decay.

Amy I remember reading about it but I didn’t realize that it was specifically designed for lawless. I was thinking they were going to be making lawless harder to settle as they originally intended.
