  1. Then there was a problem, go back to the old claim system, limit claims, stop overlapping claim flags, remove sea claims and police your own land.
  2. I think they are working on a fix, try restarting your client, restarting your pc or buying a new graphics card
  3. If you don’t believe this new system is not capable of being exploited then your not using your imagination very much. the old system was fine and it only needed tweaking as you stated the new system does. Old system tweaking = limit claim flags, stop overlapping claims and remove sea claims. New system tweaking = limit build radius, lower or remove taxes, change system so anyone can build, change system so asshat can’t demolish my structures
  4. It will get worse as more and more players come into the game, you know it and so do I.
  5. They will tweak it based on player feed back, remember to give your feedback across all communication systems they have in place. Also remember that it’s going to be majority based, land owners won’t be complaining taxes are to high or they have the island set to allow only company or allies to build. One messed up system after the other
  6. You can still live on the islands, you may pay taxes but you can live there. Joining a large company doesn’t solve anything as far as owning land goes, your still living on someone else’s land. Your either going to be a owner, tenant or hobo. The Choice Is Yours
  7. Dollie said in the last Captains Log that it will be a few weeks out. That could be 3 months or as stated 2 weeks. They used the old NA pve servers for the new pvp system. Some players have went to EU pve and others have went to pvp, some of us are playing other games and some are just sitting idle. Make a choice
  8. I changed my review on Steam from positive to a negative, just like many others have. Chances are I won’t be changing it back anytime soon and that is just me being honest. The way they have went about the wipes, the PTR and now the live servers leaves nothing to be desired. NA pve players now have to wait two weeks or longer to play unless we go to EU pve and play until NA comes back online but then we lose any progress we’ve made up to that point once again. I’m just dumbfounded in the thinking that went into this decision, I just can’t understand why they would take down the NA pve server to bring out a new pvp game mode, if it’s new shouldn’t it be the one that was delayed and brought out in two weeks or more ? Honestly I just can’t figure it out, perhaps someone can explain it to me. I have co workers who are telling me that hey the game is on sale, you still playing, I mean what can I tell them, yeah sure get the game, play in EU for a couple weeks, lose all your progress and start over if and when they bring NA pve servers back. I just can’t do it, no matter how much I enjoyed the game. I’ve been fair though, I tell them to wait till it comes out of EA because as of right now with the lack of communication, the delays when something is posted for a certain date and the known issues that have been around since launch that just can’t seem to get fixed, it’s just not worth their time. Not for someone who works for a living.
  9. He is referring to the ship decay timer. I’m almost sure of it. If ships are left unattended for so long they decay.
  10. Your are right, no one forces us to do anything, no one forced us to buy a EA game and no one forced us to deal with all the bugs, lag, claim issues, griefing, exploits and the wipes. We choose to deal with all that has happened and what will happen because we enjoy the game. All most of us has ever asked for was for the developers to be fair in the choices they make for PvE and PvP alike, we know they can’t make everyone happy but choosing to keep the NA pve server down for two more weeks makes absolutely no sense in any shape or form. That’s like saying we are taking the pvp servers down and those players will have to play pve. Where EU pve players will be in game and learning the new mechanics and starting to build their visions all the NA pve players can’t. So a few will go to the EU server to experience everything in preparation for where our server comes back up and others will try to pvp some. There needs to be a line drawn at some point that the players are going to draw that makes the developers think more before they act. At least explain the reason behind their decisions.
  11. Let me ask you this, why is either pve server sacrificed for pvp, not only did they take down the EU pve server to test a new pvp system but now they are turning our NA pve server into the new pvp system. Why the hell not use the new pvp system on the current pvp server or even better yet, why not announce the new pvp is going to be out in the next couple weeks when they get all the hardware and such that’s needed. It’s BS and unless they would like to explain the reason behind this move then most people will probably have the same frame of mind as the rest of us.
  12. Well I’m not sure what the future plan is, will they merge EU and NA pve servers, will they go with just pvp servers with one being able to flag for pvp and the other two dedicated to pvp ? Who really knows what the plan is, at times I think they wake up after a night of drinking and say to themselves “ I know what we can do “ and then it’s a rush to try and make their vision a reality. The downside to anything in life is really pretty simple, what is good for one, isn’t good for the other. In this game trying to find a middle ground is a challenge in itself, I know I can normally adapt to anything I enjoy, if rules change then people adjust, it’s no different as the times change, we have to change with it. Now we (NA pve players) can go to EU pve and play with them until this gets resolved and then they may end up having to come to the NA pve server and play the next time the developers have a brain fart. I love the game and I enjoy every aspect of it except the claim system and I’ll continue to play until it either sinks or a life event changes it. There are other games coming out and other stuff to do but only time really knows what will happen.
  13. Well honestly I feel like they pushed people into the PVP PTR when they took down the EU pve server and then the NA pve server, now I think they feel they have the numbers to run both pvp servers and that’s why the NA server is being placed on hold for a couple weeks instead of the new pvp server. If NA pve players move to the EU pve server then what is really the point in bringing back up the NA pve server in the 1st place ?
  14. What are the NA pve players doing for the next couple weeks? If your kinda lost on what I’m talking about, here is the info from the latest Captains Log: Launch Information As of right now, we are currently working on generating our release candidate. We expect that our entire network will be wiped and the patch made available on: Thursday, the 11th of April at 10 AM PDT For this relaunch, we'll be spooling up the following networks, completely fresh with no pre-existing data: Colonies: EU and NA Networks PVE: EU Network Empires: NA Network We're currently in the midst of setting up hardware and expect that we'll be able to deploy an additional NA PvE network in a couple of weeks time. Please keep your eye on our social media, discord, and announcements through the night as we'll be sharing updates as we get closer to the launch time.
  15. Sailing around in A3 on the PTR pve server and seen one SOTD Galleon sail into an island and become stuck, seen a Schooner sail into a harbor and become stuck.
  16. I played last night for the 1st time in the pve, I sailed through a couple zones but only encountered 3 groups of SOTD, yes they seem like they travel in groups now, each time it was a Galleon, Brig and Schooner. Which I was on a Schooner so I had very little issues avoiding them. The new claim system sucks, I like having my own island and a friend of mine has hers, which we are in the same region and was able to form the alliance, it’s nice having someone around to help out and work together but at the same time I was able to build within a few feet of where she had built, neither of us would have done that intentionally but to try out the new system I wanted to see how close I could build next to a existing structure. The game is great for what it is, I love everything about it except the claim system.
  17. Stay strong, be patient and plan to move when the time is right. We all wait with you, just take a knee, take a deep breath and relax. Clean your screen, wipe off your keys and change the batteries in your mouse, the time will come and cpu’s and the gpu’s will scream, servers will lag and ISP’s will drop but don’t worry, no don’t fret, don’t panic and don’t sweat. We will all meet in Valhalla as the SOTD new Galleon crosses our paths. Down our ships will go, to the bottom so deep, the sharks will swarm and our crews will shriek, just remember and never forget that we will rise again and be something great!
  18. The last thing that was officially posted was that the NA PVE PTR would be available today (04/08/19), as most of us figured there has been no further mention of it at this time, I know they were testing some things out and figured it would be up today but apparently they ran into some issues. Furthermore they anticipated a lot more players coming to test out the colonials PTR but those numbers fell short by a mile and they realize that once the pve system is online those numbers will drop even more. No you two are not the only pve players who are left, I’m not going into the pvp servers so I’m kinda idle until they either open the PVE PTR or the pve live servers. I know some pve players have went in to check out the new claim system and also the new maps but I’m sure soon as a pve server comes available they will be back.
  19. A game that is considered work shouldn’t be played, World of Warcraft was like that and it took me years to open my eyes enough to realize that life was going on without me, one day I told myself it was just a game, hit the power button, got up and never looked back, I do miss my mounts and other aspects of the game but I’m glad I was able to walk away. As far as loosing progress due to a wipe goes, I’m highly against it, it’s not about it being a job but more about starting over again under no choice of my own, some players don’t give any thought about how there characters look, the names they choose or the company they belong to and that’s fine, I on the other hand may restart 20 times because one little detail I missed in creation of the Character annoys the shit out of me, I just can’t focus on anything except that one little flaw that I overlooked. Don’t even get me started on choosing a name, I’ve spent days trying different names that I would be ok with in different combinations, looking meanings up online and seeing what it may mean in different languages. I went to play one game that required a number behind the name and I couldn’t get anything in any combination that was good enough for me to use so I never did get to play it. I heard it was a good game to. That is what a wipe means to me, starting over and going through the process over, games that offered character changes for RLM made some off of me, I didn’t care if it was the angle of the eyes if it seemed off to me then it would drive me nuts. The land grab in the beginning really messed me up, I made it to H5 and got a couple claims, there was just something wrong with the way my character looked so I logged out fixed, started the game again using the same user name and company name but I could not access the claims because my company I.D had changed, contacting support did absolutely nothing for me and talking about being pissed, my blood pressure was at a all time high, calmed down and went about looking for more areas to claim and found a couple. I place a lot of thought into everything I do because I can’t stand to do something twice when it should have been done right the 1st time. The foreman’s and owners of companies I’ve worked for often said that they only get paid to do the project once, the 2nd time it comes out of their pocket. I guess I’ve tried to stick with that mentality and have things the way I want them before getting to far along.
  20. No I haven’t, I am not at all interested in the pvp portion of the game, if there was some way to flag for pve or pvp then I’d been all for it and would more then likely spent more time then I should have playing this weekend. With them releasing PVE PTR Monday (hopefully) it will really limit the amount of time I’m able to play because of work but I still expect to have a full understanding of the new features before it goes live again.
  21. I am to Martyn, I went ahead and got the update for the PTR, at least I hope I’ll have most of the files needed so I can log in after work. I haven’t see much information being shared on the new system but I’ve managed to gather some of it so I won’t be completely lost when going in.
  22. Yeah you’d think if pvp was what they really wanted and came upon a base that no one was around then they would move on until they found players to battle against. People who look for those that are offline just because that makes it a easy win isn’t looking for a pvp game, they are looking for a pve game. I personally don’t want anything to do with it, I don’t mind watching battles between companies out on the open water but I don’t want no part of it, if they had it setup to where you could flag for pvp or flag for pve then I may be alright playing in that type of server but not full time pvp. I think it was Never Winter Nights that had it setup so you could flag for pvp or pve. I didn’t mind that to much. In ESO trying to get achievements done in Cyrodil sucked ass if you were solo or spec’d for PvE but I was able to get it done.
  23. They wanted pve players to move into the colonials ptr servers I think to give it a good test but from what I’ve seen only a few did. Some that have are posting in the forums about the experience, I myself chose not to promote pvp, even though I’m bored out of my ever loving mind right now I just refuse to have any part of it. I have a slew of games that I uninstalled when I started playing Atlas but for the next couple days I think I’ll download something or try something new. It’s just such bad preparation on their end that needs work in my opinion.
  24. What he is looking for is the same thing Ark ended up doing from what I hear, basically he is looking for offline protection, that has been beat to death, pvp’ers don’t want to actually pvp, they want to raid bases that aren’t being defended, that is so easy to see with this game. I don’t pvp and I really don’t have the right to say anything about it but I can understand the frustration of someone who works and has a life vs someone who doesn’t. The simple solution to this is to create factions, when you create you character in the beginning you choose a faction to play on. Those factions each have their own territories divided up equally in the game and your Freeport ( home base of your faction is completely safe ) any settlement outside of your home base but still within your territory can be raided and the object would be to see who’s territory can win the most of the opposing factions territory. If you get pushed all the way back to your home base then you’ll have to fight your way out again. This system is the same system other games have went to in order to justify pvp fairly with so many different players playing at different times. You’ll still be able to have your companies and work together but at the same time your part of a whole faction that will be playing and you can choose to join in their battles or do your own thing. This doesn’t completely stop offline raiding but it’s about as fair of a system that I know of.
  25. Looks like everyone turned to ash “ashes to ashes we all fall down “
