Fix this

Cant believe people havent tried this. I farmed nearly 700k mythos with a schooner and a carbine to pull them with. I put a ballista on the front group to hold aggro till they're in the water and then let them have the cannons. Ezpz. If you're too poor for this use a puckle guy and a tiger. No cost.

The mechanics aren't broken you just suck. No soft way to put that. You guys had no tames to stop a single bear? A horse with a flame cart will murder a bear. They cant catch you and cant tank flames forever. Tigers are key IMO because they do bleed damage. Hit them and let the bleed run out. No tame can last through 6 or 7 hits. A shit tiger can be a killing machine because you dont need to level melee for this to work. Shoot the rider. When they are shooting the cannon they aren't moving. Bolas and grapples are cheap. Hit the rider with them and they aren't riders any more. You can throw both while mounted. Build walls and make it difficult for the bear to get In in the first place. A few puckles go a long way. Go to your flag hold e and hit reveal enemies. No more hide and seek. If they insist on running in naked use a horse to donkey kick them and cage them. If you get a hold of a razor tooth they absolutely shut down ground raids with the fear mechanic.

Haha what a joke dude. If you have that much crap built on your deck to consider them a legit source of repair mats when demolished you are building your boat way too fat. Go thru your boat and pull shit off you dont need.

You guys are so whiny,unskilled and lazy. As far as SOTD go. You can still put mediums on the back. I can kill any sotd with a level 1 sloop with 1 stock medium on the back. And I don't even need crew. Simply aggro them at full speed , angle to the wind and slow down till you see their health bar pop up then match their speed. Shoot till dead. If you dont like how long 1 cannon takes put 20. My max mythical brig drives straight into them and what's not killed by the gun ports the 10 mediums on the back insta kill including max level galleons. I personally feel they are too easy.

try living in a zone without sap everywhere ...... you cant just flame your way out of the situation. They respawn too fucking fast to be dealt with. Perhaps your island doesnt have more than one type of aggro animal. If you try living somewhere with 2 or 3 types and they each spawn an alpha it gets VERY old VERY quick.

taming is shit right now. If you some how manage to find a decent level of something you want to tame that isnt surrounded by alphas and you dont have a saddle on you when you tame it to slap on immediately theres a 50% chance its going to die to an alpha on the way back to your base. if you ever take it out of the base theres a 100% chance its going to die to an alpha within 3 days. Tames are too weak and the frequency and power of alpha spawns is thru the roof Do yourself a favor and just skip taming for now

You are only in your baby steps of hating taming. Dont bother taming untill the alphas are fixed. You cant leave the base with a tame or it will die because every 5th spawn of something is an alpha which will 1 shot your little pet

We are having the same problem. Most of the people interested in taming have re-specced. Taming is a dead tree until they fix alphas

Well said +1 Alphas are absolutely retarded right now. Taming tree is useless because the amount of alphas that are around that not only kill you and your tames but also kill the replacements. A single alpha can clear a beach. This would be fine if it was a once a day thing but i can take a video of running down a beach and you can spot 1-3 alphas in 1 minutes time

Go do treasure maps theyre way better for xp Cant blow fire arrows on every alpha in zones without sap. We struggle enough to keep fur armor on our backs They add nothing to the game right now and are super frustrating. You cant have tames in their current condition with the alpha spawn thats currently here. FIX THIS

I cant run 1 minute without finding an alpha (can provide video proof). This must be fixed. Taming is 100% a waste of time because you cant leave the base with a tame and have it live with the current alpha spawn rate. Farming is a nightmare. Granted not every alpha is aggressive but read on. Its rediculous to have any alpha that literally cant be avoided if it aggros because theyre faster than normal spawns and even further ridiculousness that I cant even tame replacements because there is an alpha every 5th spawn that kills the high level potential tames. A pack of wolves cant kill an alpha cow, horse, crow etc. I would be ok with alphas being gone completely if necessary or BALANCE them so that theyre RARE (meaning you dont see one every day) and then also make them WORTH KILLING. Right now you get like 3 or 4x the amount of NORMAL MATERIALS that you get from killing the same type of monster but the risk is retarded versus the reward. If the spawn rate isnt going to be reduced then at least reduce their run speed to normal so you can GTFO if you dont want the encounter. They add nothing to the game and make taming completely useless and farming frustrating.

I would delete this game 100% without hesitation if i have to start over every week with a new character

Yep. I used to carry 6 pistols because theres wolves everywhere and now its BARELY possible to kill a 3 pack in which they spawn unless you get 6 headshots in a row. Not to mention the alpha spawn situation. They're everywhere still and not worth the arrows or bullets to kill. Cant use tames outside the base because they OBLITERATE tames and even worse yet, the alphas kill off the spawn so you cant even find replacements. I guess ill give this game a couple weeks before logging in. It's not really playable
