  1. ahhh the good ol days. i havnt seen this glitch in forever. once i got a gate shut on my gal while i was at the wheel and my entire boat and i spun off into the sunset, into the next grid lmao
  2. automated shipping and trade routes are the answer.
  3. they should be working on content and optimising as they go. at the very least create systems that facilitate trade and piracy. dedicating such a large swath of dev time (and ours) on purely optimisation after completely shafting their player base with the xbox shabockle instead of all the content they were promising us for a year, will completely break this games population. ive waited a year on broken promises. i've held on purely for my dreams of what this game could be... even against my better judgment... so many content streamers, industry protagonists, and modders that saved ark's bottom line, have already said fuck this game and the devs because they waited forever to no avail.. there will be no one left in the community to buy the micro transactions and prop sales, planned for post development. you wont find many "whales" buying 1000's of dollars in cosmetics on xbox compared to PC... with a dead pc player base this game will not succeed. who ever is at the top when it comes to developing this game needs to step down and let someone with vision take the reins so this game will succeed and keep developing for years beyond early access... because obviously the top dude is completely blind to what is happening before him.
  4. the island owner may have raised the island.
  5. give it some time. it took months after EA release befor even PC players could play without crashing or HUGE bugs n errors. I too like to stick it to the man and get my voice heard on things i want worked on in this game... just know, your issues are being worked on and will most likely be fixed faster for xbox than it was for pc players.
  6. Fast travel aka teleportation should never be a thing in atlas... honestly i kinda have a problem with even bed spawning (i feel like spawning in after you die should have a much greater timer than 2 min) or even bed hopping for discoveries... but when it comes to sailing, i believe if you want to find a new place you need to sail there manually. exploration is a huge aspect to this game... i mean shit... it's fun.. you get to see what others have built, find new pvp targets and you get discovery points that advance your max lvl... what's not to like about that... but when it comes to hauling materials, its super time consuming and makes it almost impossible for small companies to compete and stay relevant and therefor stay in the game without getting completely stomped out wherever they go (trust me, ive always been in a large company and see small groups being extinguished and forced to merge with someone they dont want to or quit on the daily)... when it comes to an economy, there really isnt one. player shops are either just holding spots to store gold for respecs and cosmetics or are always almost empty or filled with raw materials you still gotta ship back anyways so theyre worthless to buy and would be farmed up in minutes in a nearby grid so what is the answer to that? there really should be an automated sailing and/or trade winds ( high windage routes) that fallow grid walls. automated sailing being where you can put an npc on the steering wheel, hold e on the npc and select "select course" where it pops up a map where you can put in your turning points (grid corners) all the way to the eventual destination grid, at a high gold charge rate. the devs should make a special skill line or rank option in companies called logistics managers that get notifications of all automated ships navigational progress and if its getting attacked by pirates.benefits of such a system1. More time doing what you actually love instead of spending all your time sailing resources around.2. Pirate content - a constant supply of trader vessels to pillage and steal for your own company3. Small companies now have a chance of finding and obtaining the materials it takes to build BP gear and stay competitive where before they didn't have the manpower and time to do the hauling manually. 4. The chance to actually build a real economy. With the supplementation of materials and time allocation comes the building of BP's (supply and demand). where before you would just find worthless stacks of raw mats in the occasional mostly empty freeport store, now you will find premade BP's gear and parts. Gold will become more valuable and used. Int crafters will become renown and more coveted. 5. being that turn points are the corner of grid and the paths are the grid walls, manually sailing thru grids would still be much faster, cheaper and less risk in getting found by pirates than automated shipping therefor manually shipping would still be a viable speedy option for anyone doing so.
  7. We are the QA.. lmao... youd think after a year of playing and getting shit on by these devs you would know how this shit works by now. They say theyre working on bug fixes and optimization right now in the road map... but honestly reading the patch notes.. i dont see shit. i dont even think theyre working on this game right now... i think they push out a turd on this game once in a while and then go right back to working on ark. theyve made more dlc packs for ark in the past year than theyve ever worked on this game. population keeps dying out and nothing changes.
  8. and that is why i refuse to drink alcohol when i play this game for that specific reason.. poof... lvl 102 character gone
  9. once you complete it with all of the required essences and power stones, you will get the discovery points. but you must complete it again.
  10. you can leach or participate in the the hard mode kraken without power stones or essences and get the 40% feat timer reduction buff for completing it. you just wont get the discovery points unless you have the power stones and essences.
  11. simplicity is the meta. more things on the deck are more things that need to be repaired. its all about bp crafting and weight ratio.
  12. Because grapeshot completely fucked over their community (that began with pc players) so freaking much they gotta almost give it away for free to get new pc players to ignore all the negative reviews grapeshot has earned over the past year of blunders.
  13. Yeah but a year later with nothing substantial except the colonial island claim system and xbob crossplay, I feel that I really need to push the point. Automated shipping is the most important thing they could be working on right now.
  14. they wont respond. ive made similar posts. theyre more likily to ban someone instead of engaging them.
  15. most ridiculous post ive seen in awhile.

  17. honestly, i agree and disagree with everything youre talking about. Fast travel aka teleportation should never be a thing in atlas... honestly i kinda have a problem with even bed spawning (i feel like spawning in after you die should have a much greater timer than 2 min) but when it comes to sailing, i believe if you want to find a new place you need to sail there manually. exploration is a huge aspect to this game... i mean shit... it's fun.. you get to see what others have built, find new pvp targets and you get discovery points... what's not to like about that... but when it comes to hauling materials... there really should be an automated sailing or trade winds (routes) that fallow grid walls. automated sailing being where you can put an npc on the steering wheel, hold e on the npc and select "select course" where it pops up a map where you can put in your turning points all the way to the eventual destination. there should be an option to make a special skill line or rank in companies called logistics managers that get notifications of all automated ships navigational progress or if its getting attacked by pirates. benefits of such a system 1. 18. heres why im hella pissed off about it. Most every single restart theres atleast a 5-15 min rollback. not only did this one come without warning for more than an hour and 20 min, there was no such rollback when the servers were booted back up. I was out sailing/lvling my lvl 43 masterwork brig in a golden age ruins grid when the servers randomly came down. came back to a sank ship from ships of the damned, the moment the servers came back online. I was on the discord waiting for an update and praying these devs had some common sense to issue a rollback after the more than an hour long server failure. But alas, the new lead designer was not equipped to manage the servers in an orderly fashion to minimise the server downtime and bring the servers back up with the least amount of loss of player assets... but atleast he's more than willing to use his banhammer on people complaining.... awesome. and here is how shit turned out. VooDooToday at 12:49 PM It's 5 am for Dollie, so I imagine she's asleep and Jat is out today, so you're all stuck with me n my banhammer. So keep calm in the meantime. these were their updates. 1. VooDooToday at 1:53 PM We've identified one issue with the servers (which should be back up for everyone now). Our engineers are still investigating. 2. EvzaToday at 2:03 PM we should be all good now guys, sorry for the inconvenience 3. EvzaToday at 2:19 PM any rollbacks you've experienced have likely just been due to when the server had last saved (if the servers actually crashed), since the autosaves are like every 15 minutes or so 1, okay great, they figured out the issue with THEIR server code that the community brought to their attention... (this is where i log on to find out they did not listen to everyone saying "ROLLBACK PLZ") 2. this is where the "wtf no roll backs" "omg my ship is sunk" flood the chat. 3. this is where they said they never purposefully rollback the servers after a restart. this is also where i mentioned the early days of when SoD's were shooting cannon balls like a machine gun which earned a 40 min rollback... or that one time where a hacker stole an admin account and was dropping tanks n planes out the sky which earned a 2 hour rollback... no reply after that. almost total lack of respect for their community. They'll roll back a whole cluster because of one hacker mishap that happened on a single server but they wont roll back for their own fuck up that caused people in every server to suffer. Fuckin garbage.
  19. would be awesome if we could adjust foundation and pillar height when clipping into the mesh
  20. except 50k pc players have been waiting a year on plenty of false promises as these devs focused on xbox without notifying the community and now theres only a couple thousand left (if that) that even check up on this game anymore because of the bullshit.. I hoped that with the new lead designer that there would be a new direction but maybe there should be a new lead community manager as well to really make things clear. im sorry but that "roadmap" isnt enough. main things that should be answered::: where is this game heading? what exactly is being worked on now? what exactly will be worked on next? what will the finished product look like at the true official release? What features will eventually be added to the game? will microtransactions ever come to atlas? how will a real economy get started in this game? will trade winds (automated shipping) ever come to atlas? There plenty of things that can be at least talked about... Shit, you can atleast bounce around some ideas and see our responses... maybe even a vote on what to work on next... PLEASE SPEAK WITH YOUR COMMUNITY. earn our loyalty and respect and you will earn more of our money!
  21. wall hooks on pillars work well too. you can put a torch or lantern on there to remind people of your asshatery
  22. I know the first step of the "roadmap" is optimising but come on... talk about it. where is the game's development currently standing at? when can we expect you to be working on real content? its been been a very long time and many months since any "real content" was added to the game... if you even count a single boss and a couple tames "real content".. and no i'm not talking about the currently useless garbage like the player shop, plague, torpedo, crossbow and hydra pistol. what happened to tarot cards? what happened to bounty hunting? what happened to making an actual economy and piracy? WHAT IS GOING ON?!?
  23. getting power stones, essences and defeating the kraken on regular mode and hard mode will all give you discovery points as well.
  24. Never played satisfactory, but if it's a supermassive survival game that got rid of extremely time consuming and mundane shipping via automated shipping and routes, then they're doing it right... for a pirate fantasy game, this game has a distinct lack of piracy... unless you count decimating new players and chasing them to quit the game as fun and "pirate like".. a constant supply of ships loaded full of things to rob would bring real piracy to the game. patrolling grids would be more common place other than mega's just lvling their ships. not sure how you would figure this would take away from the pirate fantasy aspects of game because in fact, it would greatly enhance it... and allow smaller companies to get access to the higher quality ship parts instead of being completely dominated by the largest groups. also, with more of all the types of resources in circulation being more common place, a true economy would be more likely to arise. we would see more crafted items in trading outposts instead of just stacks of raw mats that are almost worthless because you can just sail a couple grids and get it yourself. bp trading would be more common place and int spec crafters would be more coveted and renown. Its a win-win-win-win-win with automated shipping routes. 20 birds with 1 stone.
