  1. Anyone figure out the rotation yet? is it random? Knowing the rotation and the fact that it moves every 6 hours, real time, would let us plan voyages.
  2. Control people? It's called being social. If they want land, and I have it, I'd hope they want to have a good relationship. It's worked for us so far. You've got a hell of a chip on your shoulder. There was nothing controlling about anything I said. We ask if they would want to hang with us for a few so we could get to know them...
  3. I was out pacing another schooner with 1 large speed and 1 small handling... I had 1 med speed and 1 med handling on my schooner... we had to keep slowing down for them to catch up... both of us under half weight.
  4. You can set a single claim flag to allow for building. If you organize your flags in such a way that they don't have much water access and aren't near rare material nodes, there's little someone can do to grief on their one plot of land. Plus, if someone griefs, you kick them off your land and wait a few days to demolish all their stuff. As a landlord, you normally get a background check on people before they move in to your property. You want to know who they are. This system makes sense. You let anyone roll up and start building, you're going to have a bad time. Vet them socially. Sail with them for a few. Have them help you get a tame. Something to get a feel for who they are. Then give them a lot. You get tax revenue and they get a base. It's a win-win system. Those of you who think other people owning land which you have to rent or buy from them is a "garbage system", just wait until you want your own home in real life. "But they got here first and spend more time on this than I do! Why don't I get my land for free?" Let me know how that works out for you in the real world. Yeah, this is a game, but the system isn't a foreign one... Other people own it, and either want to sell or they don't. You just have to deal with it.
  5. You can sail on other people's boats... Ally with them, or just get off before it anchors. If they anchor with you on, ask them to raise it so you can get off. You just can't be on when they're anchored.
  6. We were out farming with our two bears, using them as pack mules for thatch, when a normal looking Bull roamed into the melee range, kept swinging, thinking nothing of it... turns out it was a level 200 alpha bull, but didn't have it's glowing aura... lost both bears by the time we got back to the bodies. When did this change?
  7. A better option would be to force people's gear off of them when they board an unallied, anchored ship. Just make it automatically discharge all gear and inventory in a single box into the water the moment you board.
  8. Zero damage on my sloop, and it still popped when crossing the server... oh well... guess we're not able to leave without making real ships?
  9. Logged out and back in. That fixed it. I was panicking for a minute.
  10. So I logged in, onboard the schooner... and this is what it looks like... when I logged out yesterday morning, it wasn't like this... Everything is inside out!
