  1. You're saying that you want the taming system to change because you believe it is animal abuse?
  2. I believe taming is fine. I think it is hard to get some of the shoulder mounts but that's because I haven't put enough effort into it. I'm the only tamer in our small group of players but I haven't had many issues. Where I tame I've had to put additional barriers to keep out pesky cobras and scorpions. I started with a door frame trap but now I'm using fence posts and large gateways to tame. I can recommend a fairly open spot in (NA PvE )I9 to tame Elephants / Rhinos / Lions, pm/dm me.
  3. We gated a small area off with these behemoth gates in I9 because of the aggressive animals about a month back. At the time it was the best decision our group ever made. The vultures were so numerous that you would often hit a vulture instead of a resource. The vultures seemed to have the highest weight on the area we were in and the gates prevented them from organizing into hit squads. The vulture packs made the game tedious, but since the animal changes, we are thinking of taking the gates down, not that there is a line of people wanting to park it in I9 Some of our allies, in different and better regions, refuse to take their gates down in fear of a Lawless style foundation blockade from some aggressive Chinese players: Did Behemoth gate spam/ pillar spam ever get fixed in ARK on Official PvE? I do not think this is a priority of Grapeshot atm. If you *need* to get over a wall for a discovery point there are tools available. The game allows land locking and resource blocking atm, and that sucks. OP - Do you have any screenshots or have you attempted to make contact with the company/players? P.S A shoutout to the Meaty Pizza Company in G8 for always having their doors open and the metal nodes accessible, bless you.
  4. It has been said, written in books, carried upon the waves, and sung from the tops of highest mountains: PvP players do not care about PvE issues and PvE players do not care about PvP issues (for the most part). The Devs are juggling both and are dealing with issues as they do. I do not think it is helpful to constantly and consistently pound this point into the forums. I get it, others get it, we all know the points that being made. There should be different rules, support, and updates for both equal service offerings.
  5. Different strokes for different folks. I play on PvE but I really enjoy watching PvP streamers. We can have both, but with separate rulesets IMO.
  6. You should have posted this in PvE portion if you wanted to make more of a wave.
  7. I understand this, but when is it too much? I remember in ARK being paranoid when I saw a squat building near me and then I would run around ensuring my pillars would prevent anyone from blocking me or killing resources. Similarly, in Atlas I see the desire and need to do this, but not sections or entire islands. This is the post about NA PvE I9 Shrewdale: Everyone needs a small/large shipyard to build something beyond the sloop to at least get out on the seas. I hope people will use a modest approach to protect themselves and still allow for friendly discord over foundation/pillar land as some have expressed doing.
  8. I would like to see a comprehensive and fundamental change in how lawless zones operate with foundation spam. The short term solution was to decrease the no-build range between enemy foundations but now it has led to situations like this example. Perhaps there is a way to limit how many foundations allowed per person in a tribe on any given island? It's not the best idea, because life always finds a way. Another idea is to place a home beacon, like a claim flag but one that designates a home area within a lawless zone, where you can place however many structures you want/need. The area would not be a hard boundary for placing structures like the claim flag. This area size would be effected by the number of people in your company but would follow the same build distance from enemy structures rules that currently exist in lawless regions, again not suggesting another claim system. Anything you build outside of that home area would have a limit on how many structures you could build. This will allow people to build taming pins etc. in different locations around the same island but prevent foundation spam. Say, 1 home region per lawless zone? I dunno, just rambling at this point. What Server / Zone is this on? If you're ever on NA PvE go to Shrewdale stand (NE island) in I9, there you will find a lawless island taken over by one person who has placed hundreds of foundations neatly arranged to prevent any and all who attempt to build there. Underwater, on the beach, and on all the cliffs. You name it, he covered it.
  9. Well, I see that my suggestions will not work in your case. What server, cords, and how big is your company? There is some space left in NA PvE i9 if you're able/willing to move. We only get a max of 3+ wolf spawns on the beach. I9 has copper from rocks, glass in an adjacent island, salt, sulfur, elephants, lions, Rhinos, cows, the ground is desert rock. :Edit: i9 is a lawless zone btw
  10. :Wolves: One trick that I've found with wolves is to build a 2 wide foundation either around your dwelling with doorways built around the outer perimeter (This can also be crafted small safe spot, or as an addition to an existing taming pin), but be sure there are 2 foundations between you and the wolf because of reach. The usual plan is: they see me, I see them (or get attacked) and I run for the defense. The wolf hits the wall and squirms for a bit but then lines up their face for headshots as they bite the wall. I shoot with flintlock or bow. I use stone buildings but wood will suffice with frequent repairs. 8/10 this tactic works for me if I'm surprised or cannot kill them before they get to me. There are times in which the bites come very quickly and I'm unable to get inside the door frames. This is only a suggestion as building structures may not be available to you or the additional foundations prevent resources spawn now. :Vultures: I9 in NA PvE, there is a beach that has the normal spreading of Crocs, wolves, giant snakes, and rattlesnakes, as well as a massive colony of vultures. They seem to dominate the spawn weight and have numbered in the hundreds, blocking the normal spawn of other animals. They are so numerous that it becomes dangerous to gather non-corpse resources. A server restart makes the area a true paradise but 20 minutes later there are 5 . . . 15 . . just large packs of vultures. Their AI seems to scatter after a corpse is consumed and that blows their numbers to the wind causing the dangerous environment for gathering. I hope this helps!
  11. :Review: Great communication, fast on delivery, and trustworthy. Will do business with again. On behalf of Group Hug, Thank you!
