  1. This is a very true thing. PvE will essentially be nothing but entire island completely blocked off by pillars and foundation, disallowing ANYONE but the major company (PvP state servers being the owner company) of the island to be able to build. If the owner company needs to expand...oh look, pop pillars and foundations not attached to the main inhabited areas. Also, my company is in the same grid, different island, of MattOfSmith and are allied. Given that the island Matt's company controls is a major island for fiber in the grid, I'd be more than happy to pay his tax whether it be 10%, as it is, or 30%. My company owns a fair amount of another island in the grid. People that complain about not having space to build or to call home we've been reasonable in setting land where our main facilities are not located, primarily our main trade warehouse, bestiary, and shipyards. Those that have asked nicely have places, within land claim regions, to build and to use as their own. Those that have come in and have been complete ***hats about not being able to find land and attempting to steal out land from our company or our allies, or those that afk macro park on an area we're currently trying to clear from another company and block any activity from happening, who's not even been in game long enough than other to reset their claim timers, when we've been able to. This being primarily to reopen resource areas of the island or to reopen shoreline spaces or areas that are ideal for residential construction for company and/or even solo players. Players being able to build anywhere under this new system, as it's been mentioned several times, is only going to promote pillars and foundation blocks to be placed every 5 steps to prevent people from other companies or solo players from building...at all. A good current relation to this is look at Lawless servers. Another major downside to this is with this being a thing that's, not possible to happen but will DEFINITELY happen, is every single conceivable server is going to become a massive lagfest. Every piece of construction outside system map assets is tracked and managed by the servers. 10,000 pillars blocking off an island, no matter where you are in the server, is gonna put the server to a complete performance crawl.
  2. So we got one of the companies merged in over the weekend, other two are to be done this week...Only thing we found that was a problem is it doesn't seem to be merging all the company members. We had to individually invite the members. Structures, ships, etc flipped without a problem. @Jatheish - Might be something to try and look into patching? Makes for interesting times when having to jump across different outposts when people log in and find themselves trapped in the new company's buildings.
  3. This isn't so much as issues that have happened but a preventative inquiry. My company is already in and finished talks with several other companies in our area and will be moving to merge them under our flag. Though based on a few rumors and posts we have a few questions, rather concerns, when moving forward from here. One of the things that's been found is that at least one or two other companies that have merged into another have lost ownership of everything...as in nothing from Company A that merged into Company B transferred. Another instance that we've heard, come across, of is that Company A merged into B. Afterwards allt he claims, structures, tames, etc transferred minus their ships. So all ships that were built by Company A were now practically lost and inaccessible. Is there any information that these are either confirmed, a rare issue, or confirmed but have been fixed by the devs?
  4. Still having consistent issue with an area being contested constantly with no reveal contesting players. Ideas to make this where company or even alliance members of the owning company of the contested claim flag are the only ones that are able to contest flag being stolen.
  5. Random and completely off topic, but you seem to have a box population in your grid.
  6. Ok, so...with v10 at it's base we have the ability to see who's contesting a flag. A rather handy little feature honestly. While this has worked and we've been able to find the one or two that were at the edge of the claim area being contested...we've had one that can't be found........at all. Company name is Stronghold that we're trying to take a spot from in grid K6. But there's someone, logged in or out, in the area that shows the claim capture as contested. We know what the beacon for the 'contestee' should look like and we've had 4-5 people look for people in this particular space to no avail. From other local sources, Stronghold hasn't been in our grid at all for a while. We've personally not seen the flag owner or anyone from the Company even in the grid for at least 2 weeks. At one point we did find a dude that was asleep on top of a rock in the area when we initially tried to capture the area...but said dude is no longer there and there's absolutely no structures anywhere in the claim zone...so no safe place to log out. We can't find sleepers, since you can hear snoring from a bloody mile away at rediculously loud volumes even at 25% game volume. (Devs might want to introduce cpap machines in-game so these avatars don't suffocate themselves while sleeping.)
  7. This part's true. We had this happen for the first time when we tames a new horse this morning. A simple, while should be unneeded, log out/in, fixed it.
  8. So this was going on last night and didn't seem to have any reflection on the grid server itself. But while trying to place a Large Stone Gate I was repeatedly having my client lock up and/or crash as soon as I keypressed to preview place a gate or when the preview render popped in. I was ultimately able to place the gate and gateway but had to essentially keep doing it blind till I finally got the thing where I wanted it by only being able to see the 3d directional points at the middle bottom of the model while standing pretty much dead center with a slight offset so it didn't collision detect, which I found slightly odd, with my character. The lockups/freezes required me to task kill the client and would have to either attempt to rejoin the server 1-2 times for the client to get past the PrimalGameDataBP load to get back in. Crashes were thankfully a bit easier but didn't give crash information at all...the client just straight up killed itself. If I can manage to find a crash log that has the information I can attach it to this post for the devs to use as related material to try and determine the issue but no luck in finding it so far.
  9. Our Company personally hasn't had the issue with the teleportation or the collision deal. We have almost had one drown while following one and boarding the first tame to the ship, second one start drowning almost immediately but we were able to get it up on a shipdock right near by before it died. I have seen SEVERAL instances where the tame will be teleported even without experiencing it first hand. Which makes me EXTREMELY hesitant to take tames to sea for going to another island to do gathering and then carry everything back. Edit: On top of these problems...ALPHAS! Ok so I know Alphas are supposed to be big billy bad ass...BUT! Here's a problem I think everyone's having. Alpha's can and will kill tames extremely easily. Here's our experiences: Level 50ish Elephant downed by Alpha Wolf in 2 hits. Level 40ish Bear down by Alpha Rattlesnake in 2 hits...first strike put Bear to Unconcious. Here's other experiences that have happened on our island: Level 74 Giraffe downed by Alpha Wolf in 2 hits. Level 30ish Bear one shot by Alpha Lion Level 60ish Elephant downed by Alpha Wolf, same time and different wolf than the 74 Giraffe, in 2-3 hits (didn't actually see this one happen.) Alpha's should be pinnacle specimens, yes, I agree...but, there's a point I'd have to say where this just all seems absurd. Even off the tames and on foot with 130% firearms, before patch, it would take several minutes and staying out of range on rocks to kill the Alpha...or two Fire Arrows. Haven't killed an Alpha since the latest patch but with the firearm changes I can imagine this is going to be more of a nightmare with firearms...a pinnacle of projectile technology during the Golden Age of Sail.
  10. I posted this on another thread where people were losing their characters with the notation,"while not the exact issue it may be relevant information" but I'm certainly having the same issue you do. Copy/pasta incoming. I'm having this issue but not in the same sense that everyone else is here and more of a "1st World Problem" than them losing their characters from the same machine, lol. What I've noticed is that I can't log my accounts, yes plural, and get my characters from a second machine. My main gaming rig I can log both accounts in perfectly fine. All I have to do there is swap Steam accounts. However on my gaming laptop, for when I'm not streaming or am remotely streaming away from my main setup, I can't access EITHER of my accounts. I went through the local files and found the LocalProfiles. Figuring "what the hell, I'll try this" I just tried transferring that folder and its contents from my main setup to the gaming laptop. Still can't access either account. So then tried transferring the entire ATLAS folder from one machine to the next via external drive and every user:local directory that matches with ATLAS and still can't log in on my laptop to either account. So yeah, while a 1st World Problem it's actually pretty annoying that I can't swap from my main rig to my laptop to play. Also means that I can't have both accounts connected by either the same machine without running vmware or both systems. As one account is specialist Shipwright, Beastmaster, and Construction while the other is Captaincy, Piracy, and Combat and their both independent keys since ATLAS doesn't let you use Family Share via Steam for Official Servers. But, it is something that I'd like to see remedied if possible. The ability to use both machines with both accounts and vice versa would be wonderful and enable me to help the Company members that are back at base while out at sea on one account without having to go through, while mostly just a tedious little process, logging out, closing game, swapping steam accounts, loading game, and logging in to do like 3-4 things then have to go through it again just to get back to the other character.

  12. Bump on this since it's completely deactivates the Access Target Inventory action directly after the Company Ranks are put in. A second part of this is also that the radial menu to adjust inventory access rank doesn't work either.
